    Hi

Thank you guys for your enthusiastic welcome. I'm glad that joining here is looking to be worth it. I was also pleasently surprised that "Scales" wasn't taken (with you know, dragons and all. XD), since Scales is my OC's name. Incidentally, is there a section for OCs and such?
  2. I think you deserve to be here as much as anyone else with an opinion. The only people I'd even SLIGHTLY think shouldn't be here...are the ones who's prerogative it is to whine and complain about how "Ha$bro" is ruining thier show, how nothing can ever be right again, etc, etc. All that ever accomplishes is creating even more depression and chaos. (Oh well, at least Discord would be proud. )
  3. I think the fact that we don't know what will happen is probably the best part. ANYTHING can happen at this point. In turn, that also means we could have way more than 26 episodes of content in the future. If handled properly, and with a stance of maturity, the story implications of Twilight becoming a princess, and more importantly, an alicorn, could give us new options for many seasons to come.
  4. Honestly, some mature, logical conversation about the opporunities Twilicorn could bring to the show would actually be quite fun. I actually have several ideas myself of stories they could write that would take advantage of it.
  5. This is the way I see it. Yes, her being an Alicorn is new. Yes, she will never be the same again. Yes, her personality will have to update and adapt with that fact. However, we have a complete blank slate here. Her now being a princess does not mean that she has to be a stereotypical Disney Princess. This is a great chance for the writers to do big things. Sheesh, remember this: So far, the show has been known for mold breaking. This is their chance to make her a character who DEFIES the typical princess stereotype. That alone would make the whole thing worthwhile. For me, anyway.
  6. Which version of IE are you having problems on? I might not be web staff, but I can say that the site looks fine in Internet Explorer 10 (and in turn, would mean it probably works fine in IE9). I may even be able to pinpoint the exact problem, if so. (Web developer here.) If you're using Windows XP or IE8 or below...I'd recommend changing browsers, though.
  7. I'm primarily indifferent to most of this stuff because I never really cared too much, to be honest. I just watch the show, and see it for what it is.

    Hi

Well, if I'm posting around in the forums, I figure I might as well introduce myself. I've been reading this forum in the background for probably close to 6 months now, so I decided I might as well join up and contribute. I first got into MLP probably around the halfway point of Season 2. I got started by just looking into the show to see what all the fuss on the internet was about, and, I happened to enjoy it. So uh...that's about it. Hi.
  9. Meh, I don't really have much to say to this. The fandom seems to go beserk at just about anything (no offense to anyone in particular, btw). I'm a casual fan who got in it for the show. I've always sat in the background when it comes to the fandom. Also, I will kindly like to say that I consider myself part of neither of those two groups you mentioned.
  10. I guess I have to have a lot of extra respect for Hasbro then. Because I happen to like both of the things they did. I think Lauren Faust was a good showrunner, but that doesn't mean I care that her vision was different, when I like where the show is going.
  11. Let's adress these factors one by one: 1. You think a true friend would be angry at first? Even if jealousy sets in later, they would definitely ALL be caught up in the moment of excitement for their best friend. 2. When it comes to flying, someone had brought up Rarity's ability to fly when she had enchanted wings. It could be just that, for all we know. 3. How is it too much or too soon? This is a chance to see something new happen, have a new focus, have new events we couldn't have before. Why do you WANT her friends to get envious of her anyway? Also, although she could be a "princess" (which I am thinking is their equivilent of being knighted in this world, at this point), who's to say that the other 5 haven't been given any rewards offscreen? By the way, another thing I'm surprised most people haven't considered: So...Twilight's now a Princess. Doesn't a Princess usually need a royal court?
  12. I think it was a good thing. I don't really understand what the big deal was. I see it as a good way to advance the story. To be honest, it's also a good chance to actually avert the princess cliche that everyone is so afraid of. Remember, we haven't seen her for more than 10 minutes yet. Give her a chance. Also, to the people who want to see her turn back. Sure, we say that the princess cliche is overused. So uh...rather than them using this as an opportunity for advancing the story, you'd rather fall back to the even more overused cliche of "I'd rather give it all up"?
