  1. Herlin, I thought I spread Herlin repellent earlier bluh bluh huge one
  2. *allowed That's another thing: I am a grammar/spelling nazi and quite proud, and have no problems when people correct spelling and/or grammar unless it was intentionally incorrect for lulz factor. Now let's all agree To never be creative again~
  3. I believe the correct term would be numerist 16 /spreads Herlin repellent
  4. I'm not sure exactly how "unpopular" my opinions are (which is totally relative to the people whose opinions you compare yourself to), but I digress: I actually like dadrock The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well wasn't a bad episode at all Adventure Time is a show that has some good episodes and some bad episodes, but is overall approved by me (cough cough above) Piggybacking on the above, I do agree that the rest of modern CN is just bad The PS3 is far superior to the Xbox 360 in every single way, no exceptions ever (I just put up a facade of "they're the same except exclusives") The only good fanfiction ever is Fallout Equestria (uneducated opinion but I don't particularly care) I actually like Call of Duty games for what they are; the thing that keeps me from playing online is the shitty community of plebs everywhere I think tulpae are weird and shouldn't be taken that far There is nothing inherently wrong with the imperial system of measurement Obama has done nothing wrong in office thus far Green is not a creative color NCIS is severely overrated, but still an alright show Cosplaying and roleplaying are weird as hell and kinda freak me out More to come if I can think of more, but this is a fairly comprehensive list.
  5. >mustache and awesome manliness I had one of these, at least. The stache is gone now, but it shall return, maybe in November. Unless awesome manliness comes with mustachablilty, nopenopenope I'll never have that. Maybe normal manliness eventually. Did I seriously just use mustachability as a word
  6. I took this thread as meant to be funny and satirical, given that it's in Cloudsdale. So much srsness in here Assuming no Klopp ninjas, Ary=girl on the internet=why the hell not
  7. If we count that Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff cannot possibly be overridden and are an instant win condition, then we should be getting this sometime soon But for the sake of fairness, two
  8. It's funny when shinies appear for me. I have a shiny Tenta (caught as cool, since evolved into cruel, from SoulSilver), Jellicent (caught as Frillish, male), and Basculin. Of these, the only one I EV train off of is Basculin, which I found two of, but I mindlessly killed the first. I've encountered tens of thousands of Audino, Patrat, and Lillipup, but no dice. Then there's the matter of the astronomical amount of eggs I've hatched, likely also in the tens of thousands. I also would plan to name a shiny Stoutland, should I ever get one, Jake. As in Jake the dog. Yeah man. I also found a shiny Geodude fairly early on in Pearl once, but I only had a few Pokeballs, none of which the damn thing stayed in. On a fairly related note, it took me quite a while, but I got Pokerus while EV training a Cloyster in White. Carbon up there has Pokerus too, hopefully active on a few 'mons in his boxes, since it's inactive on Stoutland there. My shiny Jelly has a neutral nature (meh), but a 31 SpA IV, which is pretty dang sweet. It's named Somalia and knows Energy Ball. If you're not keeling over in laughter now, I'd advise you to look up "energy ball jellicent somalia," click on the first link, and read that thread.
  9. Herlin exists purely to destroy this thread's hopes and dreams Septimus
  10. >thread posted April 21 >first reply on August 1 Srsly people I read the whole thing around last December-Januaryish, and it's pretty amazing and I loved the whole thing. I laughed, I cried (mostly around and after Chapter 39), and the entire experience was a great one. 10/10 would re-read. The only thing keeping people from loving this universally is the length, which literally approaches biblical proportions. Also this: So much want, but they only printed nine copies as far as I'm aware
  11. AM I KAWAII YET http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ORv8FiRNKk&feature=relmfu Woona hugs pl0x
  12. Why is alcohol in the tags Seriously now But yeah, I have a chronic anxiety disorder that has some similar effects. I don't like making eye contact, I'm not too great at initiating and/or continuing a conversation, etc. etc. I've said a bunch of this stuff in a similar thread and Viscra was like "Why are you me"
  13. I assume this is the place to go to report bugs? Sometimes, when I clear the counter, it returns after a while. It gives me a 1 for a brohoof'd post (and doesn't notify me of quoted posts, as well) then gives me another 1, but when I click on it it's the same brohoof on the same post. I check, and there's nothing it could possibly be for. It's nothing too major, maybe even a good bug because I like to see notifications every now and then. Is this happening to anyone else, or is it just me?
  14. Now that I can do digital arts and stuff, have another avatar, self

  15. >Sarge >Skullbuster's dad I don't see why not, he seems pretty cool EDIT: Ninja'd and this thread is basically five people giving the same answers repeatedly. Regardless...I'd take a Woona hug, even though I'm not totally sure what that entails
  16. More goodstuffs incoming Thrice-prototyped Jack Noir straight outta Descend. I always loved this, even though it only appears for less than a second in the flash. PREMIER BALLZ SO SEXY. I have no idea if Pokeballs work that way, but it looks like it could happen. I took the standard Doc Scratch pose and added the White Magnum and chinstroke. I think he only has four fingers per hand? Davesprite: Defend. More Homestuck. Oh my it's Caliborn/undyingUmbrage. Even more Homestuck. ZILLYHOOOOOOOOO. I saw the art for Warhammer of Zillyhoo on Bandcamp and it was too awesome to not try to paint. Yeah, Homestuck. AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT Try to ignore my bad attempts at lightning and fire. How do I symmetry, Victini? Now complete with goatee for great justice. I herd u liek Nicolas Cage and thought you may or may not want to see this. Minor changes are minor, but you can't go wrong with the goatee. Bilious Slick / Politoed crossover because why not (or Wynaut, if you're into Pokemon puns)
  17. I don't know if we'd have enough people to form a gauntlet challenge of Gym Leaders + Elite 4 and Champion, or even just E4 + Champ. Such a system depends on challengers coming along, and if all the people who are interested in battling are part of the system, we would wind up doing nothing at all. Red, it's up to you to decide what team to use. That said, you're at a disadvantage if we know what it is, so if you are going with Red's team in HGSS, at least make it seem like you still can't decide. That's probably your best bet at retaining the element of surprise, although if we see Pikachu/Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise/Lapras/Snorlax in Team Preview (which is a thing, by the way), the only way to keep us on our toes would be via different movesets. All this pretty much amounts to keeping your team choice ambiguous and, should you use Red's Pokemon, don't copy them to a T. Also consider that Red had an Espeon instead of Lapras in GSC. And that Red's movesets are pretty mediocre. But hey, that's your choice.
  18. I stepped away for a few hours and this went from one page to three. Excellent. To all those who suggested an admittedly simple "No legendaries" rule, let me explain why that's not typically a thing in competitive Pokemon. First of all, not all legendaries are even good. Phione is considered a legendary, and it has a Base Stat Total of 480, the same as Bellossom, Electrode, Shiftry, etc etc. Entei has high Attack and okay Sp. Attack, but next to no physical moves and very few special moves. Articuno gets half its health taken off by switching into Stealth Rock, and Ice/Flying is a pretty bad defensive type for something to have defensive-leaning stats. Pretty much nothing Ice-type is good at all defensively. That leaves offense, but Articuno has only 85/95 base offensive stats and a very bad movepool. Hell, Kyurem has a 660 Base Stat Total, only 20 less than major cover legendaries like Groudon, and it's still not even OU because, despite 125/90/90 defenses, it's Ice/Dragon type and therefore weak to common types like Rock, Steel, Dragon, and Fighting and despite 130/130 offenses, it has a physical movepool of Outrage and Stone Edge with only Hone Claws to boost and a special movepool of Ice Beam/Blizzard, Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor, Focus Blast, Hidden Power, and with the release of BW2, Earth Power, which is alright, but Ice and Dragon have redundant coverage. I can see it slowly becoming OU later in BW2 because it got some cool new toys like Earth Power and Roost, though. What was I saying here oh yeah legendary =/= good or Uber. In fact, Pokemon like Blaziken, Garchomp, and Excadrill are Uber. Blaziken got Speed Boost from Dream World, so it can be at use Swords Dance and Protect to get a massive Attack boost and build up speed to the point where it can only be revenged by priority, and the only priority it's weak to is the fairly uncommon Aqua Jet. Its STABs are also ridiculously powerful on their own, given that it has Flare Blitz which is boostable by sun and Hi Jump Kick which got buffed to 130 base power. Garchomp is ridiculously good in its own right, given that 108/130/95/80/85/102 stat spread, which gives it a surprising amount of bulk, speed, and power. 102 base Speed is super-trolly, since there are a ton of Pokemon with base 100 which you can always outspeed with the same investment. 130 base Attack is sexy and can be boosted further by Swords Dance, and compliments the great Dragon/Ground STAB combo which only misses Skarmory and Bronzong for neutral damage. If we're going with a SD set, the last move can be a coverage move - Aqua Tail gets boosted by rain, Stone Edge lets you hit some Flying-types hard without locking yourself into Outrage if you have it - or something like Substitute, which is great on something that forces this many switches and can take hits, and even better given its ability, Sand Veil, which makes beating it in sandstorm totally luck-based. Excadrill has a cool typing with immunities to Toxic/Thunder Wave, as well as 110/135/60/50/65/88 base stats, which are kinda lackluster at first glance. Then you realize that its ability is Sand Rush, which doubles Speed in sandstorm and allows it to outspeed pretty much everything and hit very hard. The only Pokemon that weren't 2HKOed by this thing after a SD were, like, Gliscor and Skarmory, which can both potentially be KOed anyway because of Rock Slide's flinch chance. On the matter of Wobbufett, it was Uber in Gen 4, but isn't in Gen 5 because everything hits a lot harder because of all this weather and puts more pressure on Wobb, which lessened the appeal to use it and made it more easily handled. That said, people don't generally prepare for it as well, so it's still useful for getting free setup, be it entry hazards or a stat boosting move. @Kirby (why don't I use the quote button anymore), a monotype team is totally fine, although I'd assume we're not all doing monotype. And just saying: If we ever want to do anything before BW2, we'd probably have to use Pokemon Online.
  19. /changes avatar, is satisfied

  20. There is no opposing Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff But I'll play along *draws cards* *looks* Three sevens. CHECK AND MATE oh wait wrong game
  21. Shall we do Smogon OU as a ruleset? From memory, the banlist is Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-oh, Blaziken, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Deoxys (all formes except Defense), Garchomp, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina (both formes), Shaymin (sky forme), Darkrai, Manaphy, Excadrill, Thundurus-Incarnate, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem (only White and Black forms), Genesect (due to unreleasedness), use of Drizzle and Swift Swim on the same team, Moody, and moves that increase evasion. I don't really have clauses committed to memory, but I do know there's Sleep Clause (limits number of Pokemon you can put to sleep at any given time to one) and Soul Dew Clause (basically bans Soul Dew). There's probably a link that has all the relevant stuff in it (as well as a list of OU Pokemon for reference, but PS!'s teambuilder has that), but I'm too lazy to find it. Instead, have this: http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/ It's very much dated, what with the total lack of anything released with BW2, but they're working on it, trust me. I'm a bit reluctant to arm you guys with all this knowledge, but whatever. It's more exciting if people know what they're doing, which still won't necessarily happen. It should be pretty fun regardless. Another thing, we're going to have to schedule these at times that work for both people involved at the very least, moreso if people want to spectate (which is a thing you can do, btw). DOCTOR DID YOU JUST SKIM THE THREAD OR WHAT I MENTIONED SHOWDOWN EARLIER The website's pretty easy to figure out even if the teambuilder is pretty funky and takes some time to get used to. Make a team, save it, go to the lobby, choose a tier, choose a team, and go. Individual people can be challenged by clicking on their names, or you can hit the Find Battle Button.
  22. I KEEP POSTING THIS MAN IT KEEPS HAPPENING I'd be all for this, although there are a couple options for this, ultimately. We could battle over Wifi. Pros: we would use Pokemon that we trained ourselves and have access to. Cons: relying on being able to connect to Wifi in the first place (I've had issues before), potential problems with Pokemon levels (I don't quite know if Wifi has a flat battle option, and if we want to do lv. 100, we'd probably need all our Pokemon to be lv. 100, which could be an issue). Or... we could use a simulator. There are two major options for a simulator: Pokemon Online (pokemon-online.eu) and Pokemon Showdown! (pokemonshowdown.com). The former requires the download of a client to play, and the latter is browser-based. I'm more a fan of PS! myself, to be honest, even though it's still in beta. Pros: everyone has equal access to all Pokemon and moves, as well as the ability to battle in the first place (coughMellowcough). Cons: bluh bluh it's not the actual game even though it plays exactly the same. Some more ambiguous distinctions include simulators' ability to play with things released in BW2 and the need to gather FCs for Wifi battles. That's all I can really think of. Shall we vote on it? If so, I vote Simulator>Pokemon Showdown!.
  23. About this forum tournament thing, which seems to be the new topic of the thread: would it be a Wifi thing, or would we use a simulator? If we use a simulator, might I recommend http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/? It's still in beta, but it's probably the best sim I've played on. It's browser based, so unlike Pokemon Online, there's no need to download a client. This is totally something we could do. About all that EV training stuff, I have zero problems with it. If I'm going with a 4/ 252 / 252 spread, I give the ten vitamins in the appropriate stats, give it Pokerus, give it a Power item for one of the stats I'm maxing, then battle 19 Pokemon that give EVs for the stat that doesn't get EVs from the Power item. That's one stat maxed. Then I change the Power item, go battle an Audino or something for the 4, and battle a bunch of Pokemon that give EVs in the remaining stat. If I'm training, for example, 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Lucario, I'd give it a Power Anklet, ten Protein, ten Carbos, and Pokerus, then battle 19 Lillipup and Patrat on Route 1, give it the Power Bracer, battle an Audino, then finish off the Atk with Lillipup and Patrat. It's really not as hard as some of you are making it out to be, although I do have Pokerus so :V
