  1. You seem familiar, mate. Fancy a spot o' gin?

    1. Minterwute

      Minterwute

Hehe, didn't expect to find you here. I'll not turn down gin nor whiskey nor whatever else, long as I'm not paying!

  2. In working order: -Atari 2600 -SNES -PS1 -N64 -GBA SP -Game Cube -XBox -DS Lite -XBox 360 -PS3 -Wii -3DS XL -PC (since a lot of people are counting that) Kaput: -NES (needs new power supply I think) -Genesis (probably the same thing) -PS2 (It's dead, Jim.) Although not mine, my future brother-in-law has an XBone. Also I'm probably gonna pick up a Wii-U after Christmas when Target lowers the price.
  3. The alicorn amulet looks suspiciously a lot like Angry Joe's 'Angry Army' insignia. Conspiracy? Probably.

  4. Yank on a cord just a *little* too hard, and it decides to stop worrking altogether? Talk about vindictive.

      @Domon

Just some headphones. I suppose they weren't exactly high end, but for whatever reason it's always been a major pain in the ass to find ones like it, since the headphone market seems to be dominated by earbuds and full headsets.

    4. Megas

      Megas

Yeah, not exactly a fan of those. I've lost a couple of headphones the same way

  5. TFW YouTube keeps recommending a channel whose videos you've thumbed down.

  6. Not disagreeing that the quality's definitely taken a dive since the movie, however... …was Jeff the Killer ever scary (to anyone above the age of 12)? Furthermore, what's wrong with cartoons making mockeries of scary things? That's a fairly common trope in cartoons. Hell, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy practically banks on it. Even Spongebob has poked fun at ghouls (Flying Dutchman), slasher films (Hash-slinging Slasher), zombies (the health inspector), and probably a crap-ton more I can't think of off the top of my head.
  7. So the fact that he's been lambasted from every conceivable angle for his radical viewpoints is insufficient basis to surmise that he'll undergo the very same "poor me!" mentality that every intellectually bankrupt charlatan with a radical agenda undergoes? Intriguing.
  8. Ah, so now ol' Teddy's taking the Anita Sarkeesian approach: Criticism in any form = Cyberbullying Remember, kids: Always go through life expecting no rebuttals to anything you say, no matter how reprehensible the worldviews you put forth really are. If anyone ever tells you that your arguments are based on strawmen, double standards and fallacies galore...they're just a TROLL and a BULLY.
  9. Seems most humanized drawings of Babs depict her as really chubby. Not that I'm against that, I just wonder what exactly it is about her that makes people think "chubby" aside from her wide head.

    1. Moonlight

      Moonlight

She does look noticeably bigger than the CMC, especially around the stomach area.

    2. Thrashy

      Thrashy

I just figured she was a little bit older than the CMC, or perhaps a little more big-boned. Noticeably chubby foals like Snips and Truffle Shuffle, I would certainly expect to be overweight in human form.

    3. Fhaolan

      Fhaolan

I wouldn't have pegged her as chubby so much as solid, myself. Broad-shouldered, thick-set, etc. Basically a similar build to what I would expect Big Mac to have. Powerlifter-type.

Even that, I have to question. For starters, it's pretty well-accepted fanon that AJ and Big Mac (moreso than Granny) raised AB after their parents, um, "mysteriously disappeared". I think it would stand to reason that AJ feels a stronger than normal attachment to AB than most older sisters would, given that she's essentially been AB's surrogate mother. I don't think it's all *that* unbelievable that something inside AJ snapped a little bit at the thought of leavin...

    3. Thrashy

      Thrashy

...g AB home alone. Now with that said, sure, her behavior still *was* a little on the extreme side, but the rest of that, I feel, can just be chalked up to comedic license. If you take her character 100% uber-serious, then I can understand why that might annoy some, but I just enjoyed it for the silliness that it was.

I have a suspicion that kids raised on games with realistic graphics have a stunted sense of imagination. Looking at more primitive sprites forces you to come to a conclusion as to what they're actually supposed to represent, and it would stand to reason (at least in my mind) that kids who weren't raised on such graphics lack the imagination to decipher them.

I grew up during 6th gen consoles and even I have more imagination than some of these kids.

  13. Happy birthday, buddy. Hope it's been a good day for you so far. :3

  14. I suppose drawing clop and having recently discovered some bisexual tendencies would be the obvious choices, but I honestly wouldn't think it was the end of the world if they found out about that stuff. No, the one thing I'd never want to tell them is how I truly feel as though I have failed at life and have nothing to live for. I've got a rickety piece of shit car, less than $2,000 to my name, will have taken over a decade to graduate from a nothing community college, have no romantic prospects whatsoever, and have no interest in pursuing a "useful" career when a music-related profession is the only one that could possibly make me happy. To see everyone around me with the complete opposite of what I have - lucrative jobs that they somewhat enjoy, their own places to live, hell, they're all getting married left and right - it's frustrating. I'm happy for them, don't get me wrong. But I covet what they have. I covet the fact that everything seemed to fall right into place for them when, all my life, I had to fight tooth and nail for what very little I've managed to make of myself. Spending all that time honing the few useless skills I do have. Fairly recently, my mom told me that she was proud of me and had never once been disappointed in me. I didn't have the heart to ask her, "How can that possibly be true?"

  19. Hey, artistic freedom is the key factor here. If people need to express something in terms of erotica, bloodbaths and torture-porn, that's both their right and their business. However, I'd thank such creators to realize that what they do is not for everyone and take the extra ten seconds out of their day to make sure it's properly tagged. It's really not that difficult, and frankly, those who fail to do so deserve every bit of flak they get.

I have noticed that too but while I have clicked on others just fine it keeps saying that "this channel dosen't exist" when I click on my icon for my youtube channel even though it is in fact that right link so there is obviously some glitches in this new feature.

    3. Guest90210

      Guest90210

@Earthbending, It isn't the feature that's glitched. It's people putting in their Deviantart/YouTube/etc names in incorrectly. Some people put the full URL of their channel in that box, when they're just supposed to put their username, which leads to an error when you click it.

I tried it and it turns out you are right, it is nice to know for future reference.

  21. Psst…hey, Nintendo. Want to release another game that'll practically print money for you? Put a cleaned-up version of the original Star Fox and its cancelled sequel on the 3DS.

I don't really count Star Fox 64 as a remake because it is really more like a reboot than anything else. Of course I am saying as someone who has played both. Yeah I would buy that in 2 seconds.

    3. Thrashy

      Thrashy

One could say we kind of got SF2 "in spirit", given how many of its concepts were incorporated into 64. But even as someone who played the shit outta 64 (as in, played it almost every day throughout my freshman year of high school), I have to say that playing the SF2 rom gives me just as much satisfaction and has just as high a replay value.

It's 20-something years after the fact, I know, but SF2 still deserves to see an official release, dammit. X)

    4. Shanks

      Shanks

And some elements were also incorporated into Star Fox Command for the DS but Star Fox 2 does deserve its time. When Star Fox 64 was released I was expecting a sequel but instead got a reboot. Granted a really good one that I liked but still.

  22. These are pretty neat. Found them at a K-mart, of all places. Bit bummed that there apparently aren't Twilight or Fluttershy ones, but I figured I'd pick them up anyway.
  23. You mean to tell me there's a unit that has yet to be assimilated by the Borg acquired by GameStop? Something is amiss. Nah, but seriously, cool find. The wannabe urban explorer in me is always fascinated by abandoned structures.
