  1. Great bit of baseball trivia found here and in a comment of the same post.

From 1949 to 1966, the Dodgers, Yankees, and/or Giants took part in the World Series. Teams from New York or previously from NY won the World Series thirteen times.

After the Indians won the 1948 World Series, no non-NY team won another WS game until 1957 (Milwaukee Braves took Game 2 and eventually the series).

  2. Should the Twins lose tonight, their inability to score with runners on, in particular the second inning after loading the bases with nobody out, will be the story.

  3. Twins threatened to score again in the bottom of the 6th, but come up empty. Again.

  4. So far, every team with the chance to win their Division Series matchup is 0-3 today. Currently, Yanks lead theirs, 2-0, in the 6th with a chance to clinch tonight.

  5. Today, Senator Sanders proposed aggressive campaign finance reform, which would include passing a Constitutional Amendment declassifying corporations as people, ban the DNC from accepting corporate/Super PAC money, public finance of elections, and ban people working with congress from ever becoming lobbyists. As usual, lobbyists aren't happy, lending Bernie their best endorsement of the campaign. :orly:

  6. *sweatdrop* Whoops!

Keep at it. It'll be worth it in the end.

  7. If I recall correctly, Hell-in-a-Cell matches are no-disqualification. So WHY was Seth Rollins apparently disqualified?!

Because, WWE is run like an episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Everything's made up and the points don't matter.

Kinda just shows how having an entire PPV dedicated to the match type tends to diminish it

      HIAC RAW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SPOILERS

      Spoiler

Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks didn't have DQ's "on" during their Cell match but Seth Rollins vs The Fiend did.

  8. Representation matters in media. FIM episodes like Last Crusade and…

    Spoiler

    BMQ

    …show why.

  9. Tonight the Nats showed why their bullpen is the worst in baseball. >_>

  10. If I wanna watch a good episode with Big McIntosh, the last ones I ever recommend would involve him cross-dressing as a woman because it's just so funny to have a man try to disguise himself as a stereotypical woman in a Ponyville social that the Apple family itself leads or try to kiss a mare who was creeped out by his kissy face and wanted nothing to do with his gross advances.

AB and BM should've been completely aware that the Sisterhooves Social has loopholes in their rules that the chaos they caused at their own event was self-inflicted. Their tender moment together felt completely unearned.

@Cwanky At least Mrs. Doubtfire was funny.

I'm one of the few that actually enjoyed "Hard to Say Anything", but that kiss scene... :eww: Seriously creepy (especially considering that Big Mac and Sugar Belle barely knew each other at that point!), at least Feather Bangs did nothing like that.

  11. "The Pony I Want to Be" remains the most gut-wrenching song of the show. Spoiled's treatment of her out in the open, the CMCs' horror, Spoiled's pride over her actions, and Diamond's guilt add up.

    1. Sparklefan1234

      Sparklefan1234

"Battle for Sugar Belle" makes my guts wrench...

Oh. You meant because "Pony I Want to Be" is sad.

It was definitely unexpected at the time, but the emotional nature of it payed off.

  12. Looks like I'll be holding quite an unpopular (positive) opinion on Daring Doubt for a while.

I'm with you on that one as well. I loved it. To be honest, there isn't an episode that I actually dislike. Some are just better than others.

Is it really that unpopular? I've seen mostly positive posts in the episode's thread.

  13. Some episodes of this show are synonymous with “greatness.” Episodes like Lost Mark, Amending Fences, Shadow Play, Pinkie Pride, Perfect Pear, and Sparkle’s Seven are pure greatness.

Perfect Pear, though, isn’t just the epitome of Pony greatness. It’s museum-worthy. A flawless masterpiece belonging to a cartoon Hall of Fame. Story is engaging, entertaining, funny, and gut-wrenching. Pacing is among the best. You’re in My Head Like a Catchy Song is debatably the best song of the show with its emotional lyrics and heart. Buttercup and Bright Mac are a very plausible couple with their quips, chemistry, and trials. Grand Pear is the most tragic character of the show, and how they forgave him perfectly relayed its central moral of being able to grieve and heal over a mistake you can’t repair. The ending with the intertwining tree is pure warmth and feels.

I think my favorite part (Well, one of many.) was the fact that the Apple kids weren't angry with Grand Pear

& they just wanted to get to know him. :kindness:/:(

The most emotional episode I've seen, not only of MLP but any series. And it's not like there isn't much competition, especially in the later seasons...

    4. Cash In

      Cash In

I remember re-watching that episode four to five times in a row - I think I actually got emotional when I first watched it. I guess that speaks for my opinion on it.

  14. For several months, The Last Crusade was the best episode of S9 by the skin of its teeth over Sparkle’s Seven. Today’s episode dethrones it!

It's not my absolute favorite in season 9, but a very good one regardless. From episode 17 onwards, the run has been spectacular! :yay:

I saw the leaked version a while back - with no subtitles, so I could barely understand it. Hopefully I'll be able to see the English version tomorrow.

  15. *whew!* Davey Martínez pushed his luck in the 9th today, but Daniel Hudson escapes the jam! :D

  16. *hugs @Fhaolan, @ShadOBabe, @Cwanky, & @Nightmare Recherche back with one front, oxen hoof*

  17. I think I commented on it very early in the year, but Carmen Sandiego's art style is as creative as I've seen in any Western animation. The character designs stick out among the backgrounds, yet blend beautifully together.

With how highly you're praising it, maybe I'll check it out.

Watching Carmen Sandiego has turned you into a cereal mascot? :P

  19. On to Houston! Rays win ALWC Game!

  20. Rays lead the AL Wild Card Game 5-1 heading to the bottom of the 9th. No team has ever won a postseason game after trailing by four or more runs with three outs to go. The most is three (four times, latest the Cubs in Game 4 or the 2016 NLDS versus San Fran).

  21. The A’s haven’t won a winner-take-all game since Game 7 of the 1973 World Series. They’re seven outs away from losing their 9th straight in the last nineteen years.

  22. No upcoming review for Growing Up Is Hard to Do.

    1. I watched it when it was leaked, but wanna watch it again to have a clearer opinion on it.
    2. After working hard to help prepare a dinner party for Rush Hashanah, I tired out and didn’t feel like writing one for this week. But I hopefully will write one for next week’s episode.

      Tacodidra

Good luck with the dinner party! :fluttershy: I hope you still liked "Growing Up Is Hard to Do" – I thought it was another strong episode! :)

  23. Juan Soto turns 21 later this month, and he has now entered in baseball lore with the clutchest hit in National history!

  24. Wow…! Twenty minutes ago, Nationals Park was nervous and dead. Now they're cheering, becoming hoarse in the throat, and throwing beer all over. What a ballgame!
