Great bit of baseball trivia found here and in a comment of the same post.
From 1949 to 1966, the Dodgers, Yankees, and/or Giants took part in the World Series. Teams from New York or previously from NY won the World Series thirteen times.
After the Indians won the 1948 World Series, no non-NY team won another WS game until 1957 (Milwaukee Braves took Game 2 and eventually the series).

Should the Twins lose tonight, their inability to score with runners on, in particular the second inning after loading the bases with nobody out, will be the story.
-
So far, every team with the chance to win their Division Series matchup is 0-3 today. Currently, Yanks lead theirs, 2-0, in the 6th with a chance to clinch tonight.

Today, Senator Sanders proposed aggressive campaign finance reform, which would include passing a Constitutional Amendment declassifying corporations as people, ban the DNC from accepting corporate/Super PAC money, public finance of elections, and ban people working with congress from ever becoming lobbyists. As usual, lobbyists aren't happy, lending Bernie their best endorsement of the campaign.

Representation matters in media. FIM episodes like Last Crusade and…
SpoilerBMQ
…show why.

If I wanna watch a good episode with Big McIntosh, the last ones I ever recommend would involve him cross-dressing as a woman because it's just so funny to have a man try to disguise himself as a stereotypical woman in a Ponyville social that the Apple family itself leads or try to kiss a mare who was creeped out by his kissy face and wanted nothing to do with his gross advances.

@Cwanky At least Mrs. Doubtfire was funny.

"The Pony I Want to Be" remains the most gut-wrenching song of the show. Spoiled's treatment of her out in the open, the CMCs' horror, Spoiled's pride over her actions, and Diamond's guilt add up.

Looks like I'll be holding quite an unpopular (positive) opinion on Daring Doubt for a while.

Some episodes of this show are synonymous with “greatness.” Episodes like Lost Mark, Amending Fences, Shadow Play, Pinkie Pride, Perfect Pear, and Sparkle’s Seven are pure greatness.
Perfect Pear, though, isn’t just the epitome of Pony greatness. It’s museum-worthy. A flawless masterpiece belonging to a cartoon Hall of Fame. Story is engaging, entertaining, funny, and gut-wrenching. Pacing is among the best. You’re in My Head Like a Catchy Song is debatably the best song of the show with its emotional lyrics and heart. Buttercup and Bright Mac are a very plausible couple with their quips, chemistry, and trials. Grand Pear is the most tragic character of the show, and how they forgave him perfectly relayed its central moral of being able to grieve and heal over a mistake you can’t repair. The ending with the intertwining tree is pure warmth and feels.

For several months, The Last Crusade was the best episode of S9 by the skin of its teeth over Sparkle’s Seven. Today’s episode dethrones it!
-
*whew!* Davey Martínez pushed his luck in the 9th today, but Daniel Hudson escapes the jam!

*hugs @Fhaolan, @ShadOBabe, @Cwanky, & @Nightmare Recherche back with one front, oxen hoof*
*b'hoofs @Kyoshi, @Jer, @Sparklefan1234, @ChB, & @Adamgreen back with the other*

I think I commented on it very early in the year, but Carmen Sandiego's art style is as creative as I've seen in any Western animation. The character designs stick out among the backgrounds, yet blend beautifully together.

@Renegade the Unicorn You really should.

-
S2 of Carmen Sandiego's out on Netflix, and I'm having a grrrrrrreat time watching it.
-
Rays lead the AL Wild Card Game 5-1 heading to the bottom of the 9th. No team has ever won a postseason game after trailing by four or more runs with three outs to go. The most is three (four times, latest the Cubs in Game 4 or the 2016 NLDS versus San Fran).
-
The A’s haven’t won a winner-take-all game since Game 7 of the 1973 World Series. They’re seven outs away from losing their 9th straight in the last nineteen years.

No upcoming review for Growing Up Is Hard to Do.
- I watched it when it was leaked, but wanna watch it again to have a clearer opinion on it.
- After working hard to help prepare a dinner party for Rush Hashanah, I tired out and didn’t feel like writing one for this week. But I hopefully will write one for next week’s episode.

@Tacodidra Oh, I already had the party, and I had a wonderful time! Just needed a little R&R from it.

Juan Soto turns 21 later this month, and he has now entered in baseball lore with the clutchest hit in National history!

Wow…! Twenty minutes ago, Nationals Park was nervous and dead. Now they're cheering, becoming hoarse in the throat, and throwing beer all over. What a ballgame!
