Nah I admit, black metal is a hugely stereotyped genre. A lot of the lyrics can fall into some simple categories: depression/suicide, racism, war, atheism/satanism/Norse Gods, forests/winter. Odds are that if they aren't in that category than they are disgusting vntve scvm that aren't worth your time anyway.

You said it was one of the craziest albums ever, and that it was incredible. But I was just pointing out reasons why it wasn't as good as you said it was. Well I have different picks. But as a overall important and influential band, I'd have to say that Neutral Milk Hotel is probably one of the biggest.

Space rock is psychedelic rock b-baka The Wall didn't have that much experimentation, you know. Most of the songs aren't remembered as some boundary pushing master-pieces, but as popular rock songs (Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2, Comfortably Numb, Hey You, Goodbye Blue Sky...) I could list albums more depressing albums than The Final Cut. The Final Cut felt like a low point in their career as a whole. The Velvet Underground were pioneers of the art-rock movement and had a large influence on post-punk as a whole. The Velvet Underground & Nico is probably the best album of the 60s.

What about bands like Captain Beefheart and Faust, who actually pushed boundaries in their times? I mean, yeah Pink Floyd started out as amazing space rock, but anything past like Animals isn't really that distinct. He's like a pop guitarist :V

They're good, but they're not amazing. Death metal is a boring and repetitive sub-genre most of the time. Earl Sweatshirt is literally one of the best and most original rappers out right now.
