  1. Yeah, like after the specials come out. I believe those specials will be the G4.5.
  2. It's quite possible that this whole G5 thing was made in response to the season 8 leaks just to get reactions.
  3. Just imagine how completely fucked it would be if all the email pictures were photoshopped and all the concept artwork just being fanart.
  4. I may be wrong, but didn't the leak say that the "new cast" would reflect upon diversity, and not the original Mane 6? I assume that it's referring to completely new characters. The leak also said that the new designs for the Mane 6 will be for holiday specials that will be made after G4 ends.
  5. Well now with software like Toon Boom Harmony and TVPaint, hand drawn animation can all be done digitally.
  6. Well I don't really think it'd take that long, probably to 2018 or 2019.
  7. We all know that the movie was animated with Toon Boom Harmony, which is capable of two types of 2d animation: Puppet animation and frame by frame animation. The movie was done with the former, but how do you think it would look if it was done with the latter? For me, since I favor hand drawn animation over rigging (no offense to the show and movie), I think it would look absolutely amazing. Granted, it would've taken a lot more time to make.
  8. Would be cool if G5 was animated with this technique..
  9. M: Ultra emotional and melodramatic moments with intense tears. N: Rape and torture scenes to add shock. O: A lot of scenes that would be meant to arouse, not to mention clop scenes. P: Daybreaker being added to the film, and kills lots of ponies in very gory ways. Q: Snowdrop being added in, just for fan service.
  10. As I mentioned in my last post, it could just be programmed to follow the mind of the animators, so it's not like it would be just working on its own flat out.
  11. The AI could work in a way that it would follow the mind of what the writer wishes.
  12. I agree with everything you said except the first part. Yes, Animation on paper has always left a special place in our hearts, but with software like Flash, Harmony, TVPaint, and Opentoonz, hand drawn animation can now be done digitally via tablet without resorting to paper. As for your other points, this doesn't necessarily apply to big time studios, just ones that are on a budget, and want to make quality work more quickly.
  13. Just imagine what it would be like if there was an AI technology that could easily automate software like for writing, storyboarding, animation (2d and 3d), background art, 3d modeling, rendering, compositing, special FX, video/audio editing, sound effects, music, and even voice acting. It could make things move so fast, that it could only take a few weeks if not days to create a full scale animation. For example, for a 2d animation program like Flash or Toon Boom, like if you're doing frame by frame animation, the technology would allow for every drawn frame to be made every second, if not less. It would follow your mind on how you want the frames to be. Same would go for inking, coloring, and shading, as well as compositing at the end. There could also be a way to simulate multiple animators, each drawing frames for different scenes. If you're writing a script, whatever software your using would take only a few minutes to write a complete story that you want made. For music, you wouldn't need to hire additional human musicians to do music for you, you can just use a workstation like FL Studio or Pro Tools and then use existing VST software like from East West and Native Instruments, and the technology would make work even quicker for it. For voice acting, there's an upcoming software from Adobe called Voco, which is made to edit voice speeches. Here's a link about it. https://www.youtube.com/wat... Now, if it would be made to not only do that, but also being able to generate tone, speed, and emotion, you wouldn't even need to hire voice actors and the software could just do everything on its own. There could even be a way to generate laughing, crying, screaming, etc. All would probably be needed would be plugins being libraries of different people to take voices from young adults,to middle aged adults,to elders.
  14. What do you think would be the last type of place you would want to work at? I'd go with either fast food or retail.
  15. Let's say that despite Twilight's and Starlight's efforts to save Stygian from being banished, Starswirl banishes him anyway along with the Pony of Shadows. As a result, Starlight goes on an emotional tirade at Starswirl then runs away sobbing, with Twilight following her after telling Starswirl, all teary-eyed, that she was wrong about him. How do you think that would've worked as an ending? Do you think it would be a good idea to create such drama in the show?
  16. Anyone wanna add me on Skype? The name's VGmaster9

  17. Well if the fandom can't excel at it, then hopefully G5 will use that use this style of animation, going from the simplicity of G4 to a new complexity.
  18. That's pretty much my biggest concern right now, whether or not G5 will have competent writing. I don't want it to become another poorly written fantasy show. And if it is being animated with Toon Boom Harmony like people say, I want it to be hand drawn instead of using puppets like G4.
  19. Without a doubt, this fandom is full of creativity, from art, fics, comics, music, games, and of course, animations. The fandom has pretty much been involved in just about every possible form of media. However, I feel that there's something that the fandom hasn't delved into enough, and that is hand drawn, frame by frame animation. 98% of the animations uses the show's style, which is basically animated with rigged puppets. Frame by frame on the other hand, looks way more fluid and expressive. While it's good to keep the spirit of the show, it would be nice to go above and beyond in terms of animation style. Even though the characters in the movie, look smoother, I still believe that they are still rigged. The best example of a fanimation that doesn't use the show's style is Lullaby for a Princess, and even some parts of that are rigged. Here's a few examples of frame by frame animation. Now, just imagine a full animation with that kind of movement. Yes, I understand that it takes lots of time to make, but it would look utterly amazing in the end.
  20. Since G5 will most likely be animated with Toon Boom Harmony, it could mean one of two things. First, like G4 and its movie, it could be animated using puppets. Second, it could be completely be hand drawn, frame by frame, traditional style. Harmony is fully capable of both techniques. I think it'd be real cool if they went for the latter, making the characters even more fluid and expressive than in G4.
