spoiler You think the Pony of Shadows will drop a Castlevania reference or two?

I said he would be chased off and the ending would be a final moment with him in the cave. I never said what would happen in the cave You are also putting too much focus on the ending, that was not my point at all. The point was I would have wanted an episode about Thorax's struggles and triumphs getting to Equestria, only to realize he has more work ahead of him to undo the damage that his kind caused. Regardless of whether or not it fits in the context of the show, I strongly feel Thorax needed an episode dedicated to him to make his arc more rounded. However, while the show might have issue tackling this, I can very easily see it being done in the comics or a novel.

The faith would come from us seeing how good Thorax is, it wouldn't end with him being chased off, but with him in the cave, trying to figure out what to do. It's interesting, it's how more complex arcs work, not every episode needs a direct happy ending because we will be getting one later. Hence, the arc of his character. Of course there are reasons why they wouldn't do it, that's why...they didn't do it if they ever even had the idea, it doesn't change the fact that it would have made Thorax's story feel far more complete and like a journey for his character.

I don't think so, not in the show at least I think Thorax could have been one of the more memorable mini arcs in the series, it could have made season 6 more impactful as well The Crystalling releases, people spot the changeling in the backround and come theorize like they did last time. But then, say season 6 episode 10 (or any number before 17) we get an episode titled "Thorax" Which takes place right when he leaves the changeling hive, we see him struggle in the first few minutes to leave, maybe Pharnyx for the continuity we would later see in s7 telling him not to go but promising not to tell. Then we get the rest of the episode, Thorax, alone, mostly a solo episode where we see his journey from the changeling hive, all the way to Equestria, we see him leave the hive, the wasteland surrounding it, struggling with creatures and fears, his doubts about whether or not he would find a friend, at the end of the episode he now has some faith that as long as he shows he is not an enemy, he will be embraced, but instead, he has to flee because the second he walks in, guards start chasing him as the citizens scream in terror, forcing him to hide in the frozen north, where the episode ends. This would be followed by The Times they are a Changeling, where we see this character we have learned to empathize, to relate to, to hope for, get his moment of acceptance and finally make a friend. Even though so far we only knew him for one episode, if would give so much more weight to Spikes song and his acceptance into the empire. And it would have made the ending of To Where and Back Again, far more impactful, we would see Thorax, after struggling in body and in mind to find his way to Equestria, to finally being accepted into the ponies hearts, and then a conclusion where he brings the love he has gained back and shares it with his brothers, becoming King Thorax and sending queen Chrysalis away, once he was the outcast, now she is.

I like Thorax, I really like him actually, I think he is one of the better characters introduced in the past few seasons. Although a Part of me wishes he would have had a longer arc even if it was just one more build up episode. I personally wish we could have seen him leave the hive and go to the crystal empire and the struggles that came with it, being alone, with no one, not even his brothers. Followed by The Times they are a Changeling, and then To Where and Back Again. When I reflect on Thorax, I feel a solid backstory is what was lacking other than just "I good changeling, I want friends" I think 3 episodes would have been great.

Let's see, in season 4 Haber wrote Castle-Mania (Makes sense he gets to write the Pony of shadows, no?) Simple Ways Leap of Faith Moving on to season 5, he hit us with: Bloom and Gloom The Cutie Remark: Part 1 and 2 Season 6 brought The Crystalling To Where and Back Again The Only episodes here I didn't enjoy a lot were Simple Ways and the Crystalling. While I don't think hes the best writer, he has written my favorite episode(s) with the Cutie Remark...so I also believe in him, though I would prefer if Lady Writers wrote the finale. Oh, he also wrote Friendship Games, which is my favorite EQG- 35 replies

Honestly if Josh Haber is writing Shadow Play I will be happy, when he wasn't the story editor he wrote a fantastic 2 parter in season 5, because he had more direction, when he had free reign like in season 6 he still did a pretty good job with To Where and Back Again, but a rather sub-par one in The Crystalling- 35 replies

How will the movie be received?
Drunkfrank replied to CastletonSnob's topic in My Little Pony: The Movie (2017)
I think it will be received by critics as what it likely will be, a good movie that doesn't break the mold or do anything crazy,a fun throwback to disney-esque 2d animation. Overall I am expecting something like a 7-8/10 to be the average critic score. Audience scores will be impossible to take seriously, if it is super high it will likely be because bronies flooded review sites giving 10/10 ratings and if it is super low it will probably be because dumbass anti-bronies will give it 1/10s because "neckbeard basement dwellers" blah blah blah -

So, for the rest of season 7 we have Episode 14: Fame and Misfortune "Twilight Sparkle's publishing of the friendship journal has unintended consequences when ponies start to argue about who wrote the best lessons." Episode 15: Triple Threat "Spike accidentally invites Ember and Thorax to Ponyville on the same day! Confident that the two new leaders will not get along, he does all he can to keep them apart and cover the fact that the other is there." Episode 16: Campfire Tales "When their sister camping trip is ruined by Fly-ders, Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash tell Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo the stories of their favorite legends; inspired by the tales, the girls make the most out of their new situation." Episode 17: To Change a Changeling "Starlight Glimmer and Trixie try to get Thorax's brother Pharynx to accept the new way by sharing love and transforming so he doesn't undermine Thorax's leadership, and that the hive will ultimately accept him." Episode 18: Daring Done "When Rainbow Dash's favorite author, A.K. Yearling, announces her retirement, Dash convinces Pinkie Pie to go on a quest to find out if the book on Daring Do really will be closed forever." Episode 19: It isn't the mane thing about you "When Rarity's shampoo is accidentally switched with Zecora's magical remover potion, she does everything she can to fix her devastated mane in time for an upcoming photo shoot." Episode 20: A Health of Information While helping Fluttershy gather supplies, Zecora comes down with a terrible disease called Swamp Fever; even though a cure has not been discovered, Fluttershy makes it her mission to heal Zecora no matter what it takes." Episode 21: Marks and Recreations "Wanting to help as many blank flanks as possible, the CMCs start a Cutie Mark Day Camp, but are surprised when one of their campers doesn't want a cutie mark." Episode 22: Once Upon a Zeppelin "Twilight is torn when she discovers the cruise she and her family are on is a themed vacation experience in which ponies have paid for the privilege of spending time with her, and she must please both her family and the cruise attendees." Episode 23: Secrets and Pies "When Pinkie Pie thinks she sees Rainbow Dash throw away one of her pies, she suspects the worst - that Rainbow Dash secretly hates her pies; Pinkie Pie attempts to catch Rainbow Dash in her web of lies." Not including 24 and the finale because we don't have a synopsis, but which of these episodes are you looking forward to the most? Which ones are you worried about? For me, Campfire Tales, and To Change a Changeling, and Triple Threat are the ones I am most excited for. The one I am most worried about is Secrets and Pies, feels like it will be a season 1 level episode.- 35 replies

Was The Perfect Pear worth waiting for?

More like Tirek being more powerful than DIscord is an outlier, sometimes when powerscaling when everything points to something and one thing deviates, plot induced stupidity is a reason, They are dozens of normal explanations for Tirek defeating Discord, one being Discord didn't even try to fight, at all, regardless if he "let Tirek win, he didn't even care. Tirek did not double his power, sure, using simple math he would, but Tireks power change is in the size difference, and he got multiple times larger when he absorbed Alicorn magic, that is why he cared so much about that magic rather than just Discords, because there was something more special about it. Also, Discord has created his own dimension like twice in the comics which I guess we can ignore. Not to mention it is implied he created Chaosville, his home, and he created the Ogres and oubliettes universes, not to mention other obviously not universal feats but things that should easily put him over someone like Tirek, snapping his fingers and spawning a massive volcano, or snapping his fingers and turning everything in sight into chaos in To Where and Back Again. Luna was also able to nearly move many stars at a single time, and she is stronger than she was then, so logically, Celestia probably could to, and Discord easily defeated them 1 thousand years ago. So Ignoring Discord>Tirek feats. Discord should still be far higher than he is and Tirek by extension should be as well. It's not so much that I think Discord is universal, but I do think they downplay some of the characters a little if Celestia and Luna can move many stars, then they should be above basic "star level"

Moon King was building level until a thread was started to change it. Goku in base god form was able to shake a macrocosm, he is far more powerful than that now, way above that level. It was not Toms magic that destroyed the universe nor is it confirmed it actually did, it was just a one off joke. Tirek in his full form was FAR FAR stronger than he was when he fought Twilight, which was the combined power of 4 alicorns (and then some) That alone should place him in Solar System-galaxy level No one in the show is Discords level, aside from Twilights Kingdom all the show does is wank how much more powerful Discord is than everyone else. So it makes sense nobody in the show has feats that compare.

I personally hate VSbattles wiki because it gets a lot of things wrong, they had the Moon King from Kubo and the Two Strings as building level (when he was confirmed to be far over planet level in the movie) they have Goku at just universal, they have Death at Universal, they have Toffee at Universal when he is not quite at that level. They have Sombra at Star level even though he is at least Large star level. Celestia and Luna would be large star level I would think, Discord has created his own realities, that is a universal feat. But, the MLP universe is insanely strong, more powerful than nearly every other show you can watch right now aside from many anime. It has People who should be easily Galaxy level like Tirek full power, Casual star level like the princesses and most villains.
