    I'm gonna have to strongly disagree with you on how McCarthy mishandled Twilight in Season 4. Given that Twilicorn drama was at fever pitch, she did a rather impressive job of alleviating concerns people had for the character. In fact, I think that her work on Season 4 did wonders for Twilight as a character.

    While I think Josh Haber handles Twilight better than Meghan McCarthy, I mean no disrespect towards Mrs. McCarthy in the slightest. She's one of the best and her work on S4 did a lot to advance Twilight as a character.

      People give S8 a lot of crap but I think it’s better than people will give it credit for, even if it suffers a lot similar problems S6 and S9 suffer, but it’s a hill i’m willing to die on.

      Season 8 gave me:

       

      1. A Rarity and Twilight Sparkle team-up episode. (Something I've been wanting to see FOREVER.)
      2. An evil Twilight Sparkle (Something I've been wanting to see FOREVER.)
      3. A StarTrix episode.
      4. Princess Celestia character development.

       

       Season 8 worked out pretty well, IMO.

      Hopefully "Daring Doubt" will fix her again for the last time. Too bad that this was the last straw for him and he won't even stick around for it.

      I've noticed quite a few people jumping ship lately.

      This "Final Season" has felt pretty normal to me so far which, makes it easier to understand.

    No matter what happens "Daring Doubt" will almost certainly be better than You-know-what.

      Trivial Pursuit: Very enjoyable and an episode that Twilight desperately needed.

      Setback: Excellent! Great foreshadowing of what might come. A little subtle continuity of Frenemies (Tirek rescuing the bird). Vogel’s best episode.

      She Talks to Angel: Excellent cap of solo Fluttershy episodes. Funny, great to see the episode in Angel’s perspective so we can see where he’s coming from.

      Dragon Dropped: Rarity’s best episode, and best episode of the second half.

      Vogel continues to be the best writer on the show currently, IMO.

      With a calculated average of 55% "2,4,6, Greaaat!" is now officially the 3rd lowest rated episode of the show on this website. With only "Non-Compete Clause" (50%) and "Spike at your Service" (46%) having lower scores.

    @Dark Qiviut @Sparklefan1234 "A Canterlot Wedding" is an electrifying finale and "The Crystal Empire" is also good, but they both share a noticeable issue...

      Both Twilight and her friends never get to resolve their issues on screen and try to pick up the pieces from the rehearsal.

      I can understand why it wasn't addressed that much in "A Canterlot Wedding" (just a throwaway apology from AJ), but I think S3 and especially "The Crystal Empire" should have brought it up. Or be set only a week after Season 2 to address it.

      Perhaps, so. There's a litany of fix fics (varying in quality) that bring address these quibbles.

      I like it! :yay: It's been pretty consistent so far. I don't think it's quite matched season 8 at its best, but it's been very enjoyable for the most part. :)

      The second half has been slightly weaker than the first, though...

      I agree with you there, 9B has had an okay start, but it does get better.

      Yeah, I think it's got better from episode 17 onwards. :)

      "She Talks to Angel" and "Dragon Dropped" are my favorites in the second half. :D

      Something changed with season 7; I can't quite explain what, but they did change something and I like it less than the first seasons. I can't even explain what they changed, I mean, it's really weird. I guess it could be just me changing , but then, I still like the older seasons the same... I dunno.

      I actually like that latest S9 episodes ( some between 16 and 20 ); so it's not all terrible either.

      Season 7 is actually my favorite season. It's where everything just clicked into place for me. It felt like the writers figured out how to use Starlight more often, it gave us 2 of the best episodes in the entire series, and I love how it expands the lore of the show.

      I'm glad it expands the lore of the show; but it doesn't explore it all that much to my taste, and that's too bad.

      I'm a few episodes behind at the moment but so far it's alright. I was hoping for more closure earlier on, with a clear buildup towards the series finale, but it has kind of lacked that.

      Hopefully the MLP staff pull it together before the finale!
