I feel like the girls at the Grand Galloping Gala. Tonight was not the best night ever. I got a huge audition. Flew NY to LA for it. I prepped all week and had the best preparation of my life. I went in and a couple moments I really had it...but it's so hard to read casting directors. The bad part happened after. Didn't know what to do tonight. Drove around LA, until going to hotel early...8:30. I miss my family. It makes me want them more...not having the audition to work on ir the excitement pull....it was just a lonely night. And i wont get in until like 11 tonight and wont really see them until Wednesday. If I dont get this iob, I dont know how much longer I can beg and fight for auditions and not get anything in return...may not br worth the trouble. Makes me feel like all my training and acting school was a waste. Drinking rum too...cause pirate. Thanks for letting me rant.

Here's some point plundering I'm doing right now: I signed up for Southwest Airlines credit card for 50,000 bonus points in September. I needed a last minute flight NY to LA tomorrow. I was able to book it for "free" with a large majority of my points, but there's a few thousand left over. I was shopping for a two day rental car. I was going to pay 75 (incl fees) in cash for two days, then found a cheaper rate at 67. Then I searched on my Chase Sapphire card: due to their travel agent system which gives you a discount on points (points are usually 1,000 per $100, but travel gives you $150 in travel for 1000 points), I used $55 in points. Boom. Now I'm searching for a two night hotel stay using points. Looks like I found it. My sudden and expensive trip to the West Coast is looking like it's going to be completely free. :D [PS the points on the Sapphire can also be turned in for cash, if you don't have travel plans.]

I particularly like the automatic travel insurance and rental car insurance by using their cards.

[a page from Paul's actual directing notebook] 1. Let's make the Ghostbusters girls! 2. ????? 3. Profit! I originally was hyped about it, but I was quite disappointed in the trailer. It takes the realism (yeah you heard me) out of the way the characters were played in the first Ghostbusters. They already seem more cartoony in their reactions and the foundation of the team. There was a subtlety and grittiness and realism. Hell, the one braniac lady seems to even be a visual ripoff of Egon from The Real Ghostbusters...if you're taking pages from the cartoon instead of the original.... I HOPE that it's better, and there's more than meets the eye, and of course I'll GB nerd enough to go on opening day, but...seems rushed. I mean, seriously, the hearse from the first movie didn't need an arrow pointed at it to say "Look, it's a f'n hearse/ambulance." This one "It's a hearse. Yuh, but it's a Cadillac!" Come on...
