I hugged a pot today.
I now also own that budgie that I was taking care of for my neighbors, so I went out to get some more stuff for Petey and while I did I stopped by the local nursery to ask why poor Xylia, the tree seedling I'm trying to raise, is getting all crispy-wilty. ...
Turns out that... you can kill something by loving it too much... *twitch*
Like, don't need to water her more than once a week, if that. ..Sigh...As I left, tears welled up because I thought, that once more, I had hurt something I had only wanted to love.
...moments ago, as I sat in my room with my pet rock, pet bowling Pin & pet tree... I realized something...
I'm turning into Pinkimenia. You know, that one scene where she's downgraded her sanity & expectations to inert objects because she feels she has that little confidence in relating to anypony real?... sigh... I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. Just rest assured that I'm a pacifist anyway.
-
Augh! I can't take it anymore! I can't go this long without having Tharja in my avatar! ...though that's supposed to be shimmering a bit.
-
...Really? Angel has a fanclub thread? Here I thought it was universally agree he was absolutely horrible in all aspects. And yes, I do enjoy hating a pet bunny.
Heck. There's a fanclub thread for "That one duck from the Best Pet episode" and its fairly large too.
...
...THERE'S A MIME FANCLUB?!!?
Well, now I don't feel so bad about wanting to make my Tentacle Appreciation Fanclub. Anybeing know where I go to ask first for making it, or do I just leap into it & give the devs more work? Cause I know they're gonna wanna keep as much of an eye on it as I would.
...huh, speaking of which, don't think my dragonpony fanclub has been touched in a good while.

Leaving off on that vaguely depressing note, please, do continue querying, @Widdershins! This discussion is the most fun I've had in weeks!
-
...or intentionally, intelligently aggravating.
Oh, I agree wholeheartidly now! There's plenty of science out there to see what can be done for the sake of doing what you can. I'm just saying that it's easy to suck the fun out of science if your only doing it for a grant or notoriety.
Really beats me why we know more & care more about space than we know of what's under our seas or buried in the earth's miles of dirt. Who's to say there isn't some bus-sized earthworm down there, huh?!
P.S: Good thing the spellcheck makes up for what I lack in spelling despite my vocabulary...

I plead innocent by reason of insanity.
QuoteI'm just saying that it's easy to suck the fun out of science if your only doing it for a grant or notoriety.
Same thing applies to anything, really. Science just pays more.
QuoteReally beats me why we know more & care more about space than we know of what's under our seas or buried in the earth's miles of dirt.
Probably because we can get to space, but not under the majority of our seas/continental crusts. Geological high-pressure environments seem to be harder to infiltrate than effectively-absolute vacuums.
QuoteWho's to say there isn't some bus-sized earthworm down there, huh?!
QuoteP.S: Good thing the spellcheck makes up for what I lack in spelling despite my vocabillularary...
I fixed that for you.
And, hey, Widds, if you wanna get involved in another involved philosophical debate on the nature of the universe itself, I just managed to start one!
Again.
I should probably get that looked at.

Criminy, you're entertaining! The more serious you get, the more I just wanna hug you!

I do truly, truly outr-*cough* -like the idea of the Argonians from Skyrim. A whole reptilian race with it dark, tragic history. Strong & proud, but dealt an unfair lot in life.
I dunno. There's just something about staring into a mouth full o' fangs that is somehow comforting. The notion of "You don't have to think anymore. Regardless of what you think may be happening soon, your fussing over it won't help matters." A sort of bunny-in-front-of-a-predator thing.
And yes, I do do that Headlights-thing that deer do. That's not my point though.
From what little i've heard so far, Argonians seem to be more of descendants from trees, so, I guess, more like a dryad than a reptile, but still. Think it would be an uphill battle for you to convince me their not a race of humanoid dragons. And, as previously stated elsewheres, I flipping deify me some good dragons!
I just need more dragon in my life. Like all the dragon. Like a dragon sandwich with a side of dragon liberally doused in dragon sauce, served on a dragon plate. Like if you went to dragonland where it was raining dragons and those dragons were covered in dragons, then maybe that would be enough dragon. ...but probably not.
Just... Just a large amount of dragon. A considerable amount. A fairly large amount!
But no, no Grima. Demon-Dragon, ain't dragon. We obsessive nerds do draw our lines.
Oh, and that reminds me. Made a Dragonpony fanclub, do attend if & when you can. Yes, dragon/pony hybrids are a thing in this fandom and we need more of it!
-
So... would you say there's a limit to making OCs? Like, would it be too cheap to base one off a toy of yours, or an OC from another fandom?...because I kind of want to make an MLP Kaiju.

There's a pony that switches gender according to water temperature? DO go on!
Of course you can ponify eyeballs! You haven't heard of Observer demons? Just cartoonify that up a bit, and badda-doop!
What are the internet Rules again? Think one of those just means gender swapping, right?
Don't be silly, he can't be a radish, everyone knows that those are only used for cooking! GET IN DA STEWPOT, GOBBO!
-
HOI! SULLY!
How do? Let's synchronize our time-tellers to know when to meet up to trade the Pokemon!
It's exactly 10:41 right now as I type this! What's your clock say now? I'll adjust for time between posts when I get back!
...I know I'm, like, months behind giving you your present, but hey! Ya do what ya do when ya can! Now, three months down the road, what's the diff, amiright? Long as I can see you're cherubic little snuzzle light up!
Theorhetically Metaphorically of course.
*Snuzzle: A snooty muzzle.

Yeh! Gave you all I could! No, You enjoy the pokemon I gave you! Dey yo gift!
Did the two ghosties evolve when they came over?!
Don't know how you get all these so high leveled; its a right bother getting past ninety! You sure you don't want those back if you put that much effort into them?
Heh, heh! I've been trading all this time deep in a roaring blizzard! Ice-types a-go!
...Just wish there were ice/psychics besides Jynx.
-
Yes they did evolve I'll be sure to take good care of them
...and let me know when you get your copy of Pokemon Ultra Sun and moon. I'd love t hear your thoughts about the game <3
Well...I had A LOT of time on my hands and sone of my friends trainted my pokemon for me, so that's why I've got SO many high-leveled Pkemon in my Omega Ruby file. I really should start transfering some of my pokemon from that gen ver to my Pokemon Ultra Moon file
Nah, most of those high-leveled pokemon DON'T have the natures I'm after and I'm more than happy to get rid of them :3 have fun with those pokemon I gave you ^^
Hmm...maybe they'll be an Ice / Psychic type pkemon in the future you never know :3

So! Here's a neat Idea!
Sos I can practice my drawing n' show it off to y'all. I'll ask all you visitors to my Status Update for one of the Main Six to draw! I'll use my coloring pencils and the good Unlined Paper! We'll see if I can't get a full body shot done by before Tuesday so I can really buckle down for it!
Feel pretty confident there, even my older, crummier ones look like they fared well for Rarity, Fluttershy & Rainbow. Even did Limestone & Maud & Celestia once!
So! Most votes outta you guys wins! Which Main Six mare do you think I should draw & color?
-
Oh, if I could save time inna body... make a golem, and sic it on thou...
-
Boooks....Boooks.... Must have moar boooks!

You know, Rita & Runt, Slappy the Squirrel. Those are some good, strong characters. Think I might have been raised on Animaniacs. Heh, explains my sense of humor.

Wait... so the male, the minority gender has to be the one to give everything up & be the victim? JUST like the matriarchy to- *Slap!* No! No, I ain't becoming a Manninist!
Well, can't see how that's exclusive. Pearbottom has already cut ties with everypony he knew, so without loyalty to a family he only just now knows, he's got nothing to loose. The... Mother figure could just as easily feel guilty for putting him through that & feel scorn for the pressures that must have unravelled... Eh, haven't seen the episode, I can't get emotionally invested enough to spew headcannons one way or another. Seems kind of dark & depressing either way...
Man, was loving the name Pear Butter though. We need mo' Butter ponies.
Spoiler"I know, but internet meme means different thing. So I internet memed to mean different thing." (okay, what is this quote magic you do?)
Auh-whaaat? What is this, you can't just.... OW! ALL MY LOGIC! *head explodes*

NO. REREAD MY COMMENT. DELIBERATELY AND COMPLETELY AMBIGOUS FOR SAKE OF SPOILERS.
SpoilerFEMALE GIVES UP EVERYTHING. PEAR IS GIRLPONE. ASSUMPTIONS ARE BAD.
QuoteSeems kind of dark & depressing either way...
It's actually a really sweet and well-done episode. In my humble opinion, it's the highest-quality and most beautifully emotionally charged episode I've seen thus far in the show. Absolutely no depressing-death-darkness whatsoever. Do endeavour to watch it before you get spoilersniped.
Quoteokay, what is this quote magic you do?
It's up on the top of the comment bar. Click the quotation mark button next to the spoiler button.
QuoteThis is all way over my head. May i still stand here?
Only if you brohoof every last one of my amazingly well-written and insightful posts.
Oh, Widds, just noticed you were saying the headcanons were dark and depressing, not the episode. It's kinda darker if Granny utterly isolates and cuts off her grandchildren from communication with their parents as opposed to the parents just good old-fashioned dying.
Plus, it begs the question: if AJ's parents left the farm for good, why have their kids lived on the farm all their life? It seems a safe bet that the parents would've taken their kids with them wherever they went, especially if Granny was trying to ostracise them for their decision to leave.
-
Well, was thinking there's the possibility that they felt the kids were too young to adapt to a changing environment, like say, they were both going into being Wonderbolts, so maybe the kids would be better off being raised down on the farm under Granny, or maybe she felt she could do right this time by the kids & keep them there & loyal.
But then again, there's drastic steps of maturity between each of the three kids. While one could say that abandoning, say, a four year old might not mean too much that Mac could forget them when he gets older (hey, I can barely remember my own childhood) and AJ would be a toddler... that would make Appledoom almost a newborn infant... and even more screwed up.
Both options are kind of obscure, there's little reason to expect death, but I feel abandonment is a bit easier to swallow.
...when... when you're... not... not the kid involved that is...
-
Oh, and for those of you interested, my current avatar happens to be the Tank that I fell in love with... Behold, for it is... The Panzer Draaagon!!!
Not only does it both look like something you'd half expect a tank to be decorated as, but its also rather total garbage! Good defense, mediocre attack at best. But when it gets defeated, it blows up and brings an enemy down with it! Not since Kozaky's Mech and Doctor Frankenderp have I seen such glorious, beautiful mechanical Fail! Some day, I should make a yugioh deck of mechanics that either roll a die, flip a coin or erstwhile blow stuff up at random!

So! Just watched Linkara review a manga called Delicious in Dungeon. It's all about how these adventurers try to survive in your typical rpg dungeon by subsisting off the local monster ecosystem!
Apparently! If you can clean & properly dry out your typical slime creature, you can make a very good pancake-like substance perfect for cooking! .....
OY! @The_Gobo! Here! Lemme try somethin'!

Seems oddly rare to find a plushie between 14 inches & 5 feet.

Well, that was funny Gobby, but mostly I cried. Think they say physical contact is important for mental health and... well, social anxiety you know?
Had that ever happened to me, I'd probably step back in shock first & freeze up until he went on with the hug.Then...maybe bust into tears at that point.
I'm not one to ask people of things & take that risk. Least you know plushies can't hurt you by recoiling in disgust.
-
That's kinda my point, it'll hurt at first when that happens, but you *ask* first and foremost, THEN you go for a hug.
The way it's presented in that video, it's done for laughs, so they just up n' go for it.
Now if one were to do that in say, Dallas TX, you might even get punched for trying something like that,
or shanked if you did so in NYC

Just occured to me while playing Pokemon Go earlier that GameFreak somehow managed to make an anglerfish cute. The fact that we live in a world where ideas can be taken that wild & fleshed out just makes me wonder in beautiful amazement!
-
...Well, you are on right now. I do have my hypothesis that you'd be on essentially the opposite end of the day as I am, like my sister currently in Japan. So if its currently 11 in the morning where I am, then presumeably its quite late for you now too. I do suppose we'll have to play this whole pokemon trading thing by the proverbial ear.

So, turns out ShadowTag does indeed nullify a wild Abra's Teleport move! ...however, since it doesn't attack I can't attack it back & I'm too stubborn to switch out or flee. Had Jutcuz for all of five minutes and I'm already in a deadlock!
D'AWW! HE DOES A LIL' SALUTE ANIMATION!
They're all already super cute!

Petting my new traveling companions!:
That's what I like about the tentacle pokemon, they're so appreciative! But, I get curious, decide to poke Everdeen in her green head-orbs and her eyes just shoot open with that bland, mouthless expression tentacools are known for with a "Yeah. No. Don't do that." lol!
Oh, and pokemon breeder protip! If you don't pet a Bonsly the way it likes, it will actually shed actual, huge tears at you! "You did that on purpose! How could you, you big meanie trainer!"
Hmm, think I've forgotten the confusion-centric movepool I had in mind for Pipper... did reteach it the chatot signature move: Chatter!
Was going to apoligize for keeping you up so late... but I know you well enough to know that tends to already be a trend for you! Rest well! You've got busy days ahead!

Generation Eight, Galar might be the best storytelling so far in Pokemon.
And I think most overlook how subtle and underhanded it is. Probably due to it being perhaps based upon the droll, understated humor and storytelling the British isles are known for, and the fact that they played with expectations of the fandom.
Rose is fully mad. And he doesn't, nor will he ever pay for his crimes. After everything happens, you find his secretary doing his court-mandated Public Service for him. He endangered the region, went to trial off screen, and paid off everyone who held issue. And he's still ruling Galar to this day. Because he owns every company, every resource and cultural landmark and there's not a damn thing anyone can do to stop him even when he does fail.
That's the lesson to Galar. That ultimately, what you want means nothing. Having goals & purpose are meaningless and the best you can & should aim for.... is to simply enjoy life while you have it.
You get handheld by a very tight tutorial, get forced into competing in the "Gym Challenge" without you ever getting a chance to say otherwise... and when stuff hits the fan, trouble is abound.... the adults take care of it. You go off on your children games. We can't have you dealing with beams of uncontrolled energy or rampaging giant monsters.
Is anyone aware how MATURE this is for this franchise? Children's media in general?!!?
Hop is the special snowflake that gets told their important or has a destiny to live up to. Just like how previous games like Pokemon Let's Go treated us. And he routinely gets defeated in battle and has a crisis of faith and loses his identity.
You, the protagonist, have no agency or importance. You only get the cheering crowds for the show you put on. You didn't uncover the threat to the nation, you didn't discover the forgotten myth, you didn't bear the full force of the giant literal & proverbial Dragon that needed Slaying. That was left to those who spent their life training and gardnering the experience to do so.
You just had an adventure. Because that's what Life IS. Taking what you get, not throwing yourself in the way of danger to play the hero.
The "evil" Team Yell just backed up the one of them that managed to claw their way out of squalor... and used it as an excuse to be dorky jerks.
The actual team working for evil, Team Macro Cosmos were just working class people who just wanted their salary so they could live their lives. Boss said to get in the way of those invaders, so they did. They didn't hate your or had goals specifically to pick on you, but they wound up being evil all the same.
Galar taught me that it's okay to not not matter. You don't play the roles of who came before you, you don't have to make things happen, be the driving force. Live life, be you.

Okay, I’m gonna drop the “new friends, old friends” thing now, because I think it’s distracting you from hearing the important part.
Stop focusing on the Dex for a sec. Yeah that irritates me, but it’s not what I’m mad about.
This is what I’m pissed about:
GAMEFREAK IS BEING SHADY AS HELL AND IS TRYING TO SIPHON OUT MORE CASH FROM FANS USING SCUMMY BUSINESS PRACTICES.
They deliberately cut content from the game to sell for more money later. The Dex is just one example of it. They know people care about those Pokémon, and cut out a bunch of them to get more cash from people later.
This is horribly anti-consumer, and if people just let them slide, I can ABSOLUTELY see the worst case scenario happing in the future...
”Buy our new Pokémon game! 50 new Pokémon, and for just a dollar each, you can buy all your old favorites to play with.”
Pokémon micro transactions. *gags* I don’t want Pokémon to become THAT. And don’t think for a second it’s impossible. They are a corporation, and if you give them and inch, they will take a mile.
-
But that's what confuses me tho. I don't see anything getting cut.
"Cut" implies it was integral to the game. If this Isle & Tundra place was so important... it would have been mentioned during the course of the game up until now. And it hasn't. Like... there's been regionals and even a new legendary, potentially whole new pokemon... that are a few miles away and nobody in the area have even brought them up?
I kinda see this more as just heaping more "New" onto the pile so consumers don't get bored and wander away. Treating us like babies, which we kinda have to be when you don't give us much substance.
Admittedly though, I have heard that the pokemon added into during the expansions... will also be added into the game. So, say if they let Blaziken in during the Isle of Armor, even if you don't buy it, you can ship one into your game to use. ...using Pokemon Home... which costs, like $5 dollars a month or something.
Jeez, this is a mess.
Like, yes, would be better if they actually put it all together and payed attention to what they were doing, maybe sell it for $90 total instead of breadcrumbing us along for when they're ready.
But still confused.
Like, what they're adding now doesn't mean that what the game is, as it stands now, worthless. ...it is dragging out things and giving us more to pay for.Needless to say a good many of people aren't going to buy the Expansions, if not for reasons but because they either didn't hear that new stuff was coming out or just couldn't physically get around to actually buying it. Not every shmuck keeps uptodate, some just buy it when they pass it in the store.
It's... not really a stable plan, if it was the goal.
Stuff looks like Skyrim, is what gots me hyped. But that's concept art... which always looks better.
It's a mess. A whole mess of things, it really is.
-
Quote
$90 total
While it would be less suspect if they just put it all in the game and were upfront with the price for the full thing, I sincerely do not believe SwSh are a $90 quality game.
I mean for heaven’s sake, they still can’t even be bothered to make turning around animations for the characters. They still just spin in place with their walk cycles. On the SWITCH.

Well, just got back from the Animal Shelter & finding Ginger's pare-... family. Heh, guess I got the wrong spice for her name. Guy said the kids were puttin' up posters for her. I'm... glad she's back home... Well, of course you've seen her before, ya big ninnymuggins! I plaster her all over my avatar pic & Cover Photo all the time! Her hair's perfect!
Pyah, as if you've never heard of a shut-in being protective of his imaginary girlfriend! I'm a loyal sort! I'm a one-girl sorta... being! I can hardly imagine Tharja being the sort to have two guys at on-... Wait.
I keep forgetting that she is by and far the more assertive of us. If you don't know anything of her, she really is one of those female characters that was clearly intended to appeal to a target demographic, but does so well enough that you can't imagine her any other way. Sufficed to say, anyone who knows of her probably would not be surprised if the Dark Mage gave her hubby a cloning potion just so she could have more of him around.
...or chloroform.
Hey, she keeps detailed notes on how you sleep. Yanderes, man!

Hoooo golly!
I've forgotten how much I love Linoone! I ever tell you that? Don't think I ever named him, but back in Emerald I pretended that my first Pokemon was the Zigzagoon that terrified poor Prof Elm, or Birtch or whatever his wossnames... them lil rats never were meant to be much, but he had himself a Heabutt! 'Suppose be your average attack of sorts with, like, a 15% flinch rate, but boy howdy! The distance my little 'coon buddy went with stunlocking with that sucker was amazings!
My Linoone is in the top puh-... persentage of all luh- Linooneses!
I can't decide if I'm more Zigzagoon or Sentret! I'm just all over the place, what with the wander that... that...
Look. Been eatin' sugar again today. I'm like, uh, t-totally all out of the Its.
D-did... Did ah efer tell you I love you, man? S'like.... like, ya gotta put things in perfective, man... yuh... yuh gotta...

...and if that were true, which I don't believe it, … that would means something of equal role would be included in shield version. A second "galar-only evolution of a pre-existing pokemon, either fighting or flying type"
Considering we already have a new Zigzagoon overhaul, we're kind of good on regional forms, I'd say.
Nor do I believe Regional Forms are all that good. It's half of a design when you think about it. We already got one form to work off of, you only need
slighttweaking to fit it back in. -
I love the regional variants. It’s such a cool wink to what happens to real world animals when populations of them get isolated.
SpoilerConsidering we already have a new Zigzagoon overhaul, we're kind of good on regional forms, I'd say.
You kidding? There were regional variations of 10 evolutionary lines in Sun/Moon, or 18 individual species. They’ve only shown 5 for Sword/Shield, including Sirfetch’d. There’s plenty of room for more.
-
Well, they only had one attempt at a regular pokemon evolving into a new regional. This is the first time we've had an older pokemon evolve and completely lose their old typing in favor of a whole new typing!
Besides, Britain doesn't strike me as that varied in climate. I don't understand the logic of how Vulpix & Sandshrew just decided to live in the colder places instead (when there's a desert right next to them they'd be fine in.) what's the rational for becoming pure Fighting?... they just wanted to hit things harder?
News though! It's been confirmed that Farfetch'd now evolves into this through "having enough battles."
-
Five, it's reached five iterations now. I fail to understand why anyone would intentionally go to watch something they know exists only to repeatedly tell you its stupid. And they open by comparing themselves to fidget spinners. Why does this generation seem to be so enthused with senseless stupidity? Yeah, I know, you'd think I would be all over this. but I can't consider this humor. Humor is not shouting something that sounds vaguely like you've experienced before and going "Eh? You remember that, don't you? That causes a reaction in you, right? Please, please give us your money!"
Like anything, "LolRandom!" can be done wrong. Having a character that summons pancakes because he's neurotically obsessed with them is one thing. He can go on extolling their virtues or have it be a shtick he leans back on so often that you can practically see him quiver with anticipation before wapping you with one.
Just referencing Indiana Jones despite there being no precedent for that before, is not funny. That's just another thing happening. Humor requires set-up, some form of order to it. ...Yes, I know I do that too, didn't say I was perfect either, lol.
Admittedly, kind of looks like there will be some Big Bad Boss SkyShark, and airborne beasties is a trope I haven't seen touched on, like ever, so points there. My point is, just throwing things constantly at your audience is no way to form a lasting franchise. ...
PANCAKE-NADO!!! aww... great...
