  1. The only ones who would actually like Pokémon are Dash, Pinkie, and maybe Twilight.
  2. Go on YouTube. Even people who hate MLP still love things like Discord, The Moon Rises, Piemations, Pony.mov, etc. Really shows how much of an impact this fandom made for fan-produced content, regardless of the current size or downward trend.
  3. Paw Patrol is straight garbage, as are 99.99% of preschool shows. Does LazyTown count as one?
  4. It's more of a fact that it won't be any more than 105 minutes or so.
  5. Not to be rude but do you honestly think that Bollywood has anything to do with this upcoming movie or that it will be almost 2.5-3 hours long?
  6. 1. Starlight is a likeable character 2. I don't care for Maud or Pinkie's family 3. Putting your Hoof Down was a good epiosde 4. Mare Do Well was a good episode 5. Lauren Faust was a below average writer 6. The Dazzlings and Sunset (despite my avatar) sucked as villains. 7. Rainbow Rocks isn't that much of an improvement over the first EQG movie 8. Friendship Games was boring 9. I don't like some of the earlier character designs, the Diamond Dogs especially. 10. Best Night Ever was a good finale 11. The Equestria Girls' songs suck massive balls except for maybe 3 or 4. 12. Magic is explained poorly in some instances, especially Starlight's background and the "ponying up" in the EQG films. 13. The theme song is awful
  7. Agreed. I am hopeful that it will reach $170-$200m domestically and $450m worldwide, all reasonable numbers.
  8. I couldn't care less about the Dazzlings. They were annoying and incredibly one-note "villains" that had no motive besides "MUH POWER".
  9. MLP has for the most part succeeded at that and with the writing core the movie has (writers who have shown they can write mature dialogue in kids content) I don't have doubts that it will stand out from the other dumb kids movies like Boss Baby or Smurfs.
  10. That's probably why Hasbro picked the early fall. The lack of blockbusters around that time will help MLP shine, especially for being in a category of its one.
  11. What about Spongebob, FOP, Jimmy Neutron, or Danny Phantom?
  12. Uh even in his standalone episodes he hasn't been fully reformed. And he shouldn't be. He's still the cynical master of chaos. That's like saying Batman has fully reformed Joker.
  13. You mean like blowing Sombra up? Or them actually putting Tirek into prison? Or turning Discord into stone? The difference between them and let's say Starlight or Trixie is that the latter two are just normal ponies that have large ambitions. They can be changed into one of the good side of Equestria. The former three (yes even Discord; he hasn't been fully reformed) are born to be evil and cold-hearted and cannot be changed (Chrysalis too).
  14. There are four qualities that could give this film legs: 1. Being the only family film for at least a month and a half (unless you count Thor as one). 2. Positive reviews/word of mouth 3. Being a musical (people will hear the songs on YouTube and want to go see it in person). This also ties in with Sia and her promotional ability. 4. Strong Female protagonists (the only animated film this year to have one. Strong female characters like Twilight Sparkle sell and provide a good model, and I don't mean horribly written ones like the 2016 Ghostbusters).
  15. Eh being in October won't affect the box office that much as most kids see films over the weekend anyways. Plus the film being a musical could give it great legs. $70 million however is a flop considering the budget will be around $50-60 million (yes it will be that expensive; you don't make animated films for less unless you use bottom of the barrel quality like Norm of the North). In that case breaking even would be about $90-100 million, and I know based off these trends that it will gross a lot more than that.
