    When has MLP G4 ever aimed for the lowest common denominator? This isn't Sony Pictures Animation we're talking about. Let us not forget that the movie is being written by the writer of two Disney classics and arguably the show's best writer? As for the songs MLP (not EQG) has always been Disney-Broadway style with maybe a pop or two mixed in. Don't know why you're so paranoid.

    Nah season 5 had an arc with the map. Season 8 will probably increase in adventure episodes due to the return of Meghan McCarthy and Mike Vogel.

    The first one is very generic and cliched (albeit less so than several other high school dramas) but the series gets more interesting with each movie and it becomes more of a fantasy but with humans instead of ponies.

    She will be in the movie but a very brief appearance (like a few lines). EQG is pretty irrelevant to the movie unless the 8 new characters appear in human form down the road.

    Because the Magic Roundabout is one of the worst animated films ever made and the fans would riot if the original voice actors were replaced.

    No because we've already seen the Dazzlings. We haven't seen human world Sunset.

    Human Sunset. Yes it's going to happen. It's the big elephant in the room and Hasbro knows it. I think EQG5 will shift focus from the Mane 6 to both Sunsets (of course) but also more of the human counterparts like Discord, Starlight, etc (as supporting characters). EQG is 100% cannon to FIM so I don't see any argument against this.

    Fantastic film all around. Beautiful animation, deep leads, great soundtrack, and a very smart message. Oh and the writing is some of Disney's wittiest, like ever.

    Even when they were "relevant" (all 30 of them) they were a bunch of dweebs who think that by acting communistic and overly brute was cool. Good thing they're irrelevant now, but there are a few retarded kids (mostly FNAF fans) who keep dragging this bullshit out.

    How exactly is that news? We know that every season has 26 episodes.

    Honestly I'm not sure why people are guaranteeing a box office flop. Sing and Boss Baby didn't succeed because of marketing, but because of timing and families needing a kids film to see regardless. Also I don't know why you're thinking Hasbro is dirt cheap and can't market this correctly. Stop using Disney as a benchmark. They've made numerous flops even with their so called "great" marketing. And I know people are using the Blade Runner 2049 argument but the fact that Alien Covenant, a more well known franchise, didn't do that well at the box office, which shows tha R-rated films aren't as profitable as you think unless it's X-Men.

    They can put it in front of any movie they want. Cars 3, Despicable Me 3, you name it.

    First off, we say this every year and it never actually happens. Hasbro already announced Season 8 before 7 even started. Second, there's a movie coming this year. Maybe it makes more sense to ask this question when it's been released and we see how well it does in theaters and on DVD.

    I'm genuinely curious if it will include Starlight or not, and if Season 8 will contain any continuity from the movie.

    Lionsgate is not in charge of the marketing. Hasbro is.

    Let's not forget that we're getting a ginormous action/adventure story this October. I don't care either way but a slice of life finale might be a nice change.
