    Well, we will have to see. Royal Problem turned out much better than the bare plot synopsis suggested, so its possible they can pull something out of the hat for this one - but I am not going to get my hopes up.

    If the plot synopsis is accurate, I am disappointed in how they have positioned Spike; while I know it's a classic comedy setup, it would be much more believable if (for example) Starlight Glimmer had invited Thorax, Twilight had invited Ember, leading to a characteristic TS panic attack with a theme of "Sweet Celestia! WE MUST KEEP THEM FROM MEETING". That way, Spike can be totally clueless as to why every time he turned around, one friend had vanished and the other one was there looking confused...

    I agree - its a good character I would like to see more of (and hear more from, of course) - plus it would seem unlikely we wouldn't see at least some onshow time of the album launch party, given the foreshadowing in the Maud Pie episode.

    Does she need a separate manager? The Ponytones seem to get along well enough without one, although I can see how a full on sfx show with dancers and backing players would need more than the acapella harmony the Ponytones perform...

    Can see plenty of possible explanations, but you don't know what happened after the Mane Event so it's hard to judge which, if any, might pop up in future. First, it's possible she kept it as a stage name - after all, its the name she is already known under - but moved more to a rara style of performance Second, the glitz and glam show might well still be in demand after tME, so she may have recruited another unicorn (and either new dancers, or re-employed the previous ones) to do the lighting and SFX, That doesn't mean she couldn't also be doing rara style balads as well - either as a separate set, or under a different stage name Third, its possible svengallop recruited another impressionable young pony and set them up as the "new" Countess. After all, almost everything about a CC performance, even the mane colour, was a "svengallop production", so it's entirely possible a lot of ponies wouldn't notice the difference. We can only hope AJ gets a letter or something from her that clarifies what has happened since tME

    Couple of things do occur to me though. First - Awesome though Daybreaker is, it is literally Starlight Glimmer's headcannon - how she imagines a corrupted Celestia would appear. So plenty of wiggle room if the writers ever want to use the character but change the design. The second is that the magic of the map is not the magic originally supplied by the tree of harmony - that was stolen and corrupted by SG, then repaired/replaced by SG and Twilight working together; that latter might explain why the map is able to assign SG to friendship tasks as well as the mane 6. Although the new spell WAS filtered though the symbols on the six thrones, so you would expect it to be limited to those six symbols.
