  1. Probably the 80s, it's the most nostalgic for me. How much rain are you getting where you live?
  2. I couldn't say, I listen to music half the day through and much of it's on random. More than likely it was Sabine Berezina though. How often do you use sticky notes?
  3. There's a good number of directions they could take this in, I feel. It's interesting that they started the season off with a trailer that basically gives the viewer the series' endgame, but I think that's what most people imagined would end the series- with the passing of the torch to Twilight. We thought that would originally be the end when she became an alicorn. But maybe they'll surprise us. Nine seasons is a long time for a cartoon, but so far it's been pretty good. I have no reason to believe season nine will disappoint.
  4. I'm a bit stubborn, I usually keep my personal problems to myself unless they involve other peop- well that's a lie, I hold grudges with other people all the time because I don't want to tell them why I am upset with them. Typically my husband, mother-in-law and sister-in-law are the only people I truly trust with my venting whether it's other people, personal problems or whatever. I don't like to feel like I'm whining and I really don't like that most people like to just try and throw solutions at you when you just want to vent. That's the most irritating thing in the world to me. So I usually just keep it to myself.
  5. Try this; when you get to know some more of the community members here, see how many of the male users you get to know seem like they've been confident before an during their time as a MLP fan. I'm guessing there aren't many that were confident, trouble-free people before ponies came along. Because bronies are so open and accepting, it's a safe haven of a fanbase for the less confident or otherwise less masculine males out there, or at least that's how I see it. How your masculinity or femininity develops from there is more than likely mutually exclusive between people- I don't think ponies inherently nurture more feminine men. But I could be wrong. I'm not male, but I do get the occasional tease from others just because it's abnormal for old people like me to be watching them. And I kind of agree with that, but I wouldn't call it a rule. (Not to justify myself... with myself... or anything. It just doesn't seem all that damaging to the adult psyche.)
  6. He hates kissing in public, and honestly I'm not big on it either but it's a really good way of getting him all flustered cause when I go in for one he won't deny me haha. Has your partner ever taught you how to do something that you would normally seek a tutor or teacher for?
  7. White Noise by Don DeLillo 9/10 Do you prefer writing with pen or pencil?
  8. We're taking one to Daugavpils this weekend so I will know then! What do you do to embarrass your significant other (playfully, I hope) in public? (PG please)
  9. The misuse of apostrophes is running rampant. You do not use them to indicate a plural version of a word,
    (ex.
Incorrect: The mailbox is filled with envelope's.
Correct: The mailbox is filled with envelopes.)

-whatever this misuse would be called is not a use case,
    (ex.
Incorrect: The toy company sue'd the comic company.
Correct: The toy company sued the comic company.)

-and the only reason to use an apostrophe in the case of it's is for a contraction of it is.
    (ex.
Incorrect: Its not it's fault. It doesn't know better.
Correct: It's not its fault. It doesn't know better.
(Same story with doesn't- it's a contraction of does not. That's (that is) what the apostrophe indicates.))

Inventing transformative pronouns is certainly a mythos function.

Correct: It's not its fault. It doesn't know better.
Autocorrect: Its not it's fault. It doesn't know better.

    4. Duality

Oh, no, the apostrophe debacle is nothing compared to the mass grammar crimes inflicted on the word 'data'. Very few people see anything wrong with the sentence 'the data shows that this is the case', but in fact it should formally read 'the data show that this is the case'. 'Datum' is the singular form of the word and 'data', strictly speaking, is and always has been plural. Also, 'agenda' is technically the plural of 'agendum' and language may or may not be doomed to change over time, especially in the direction of ease of use over rigid structure. I'm definitely with you on this, but I suspect eventually our side of the argument is going to go the way of checking the agendum for the next meeting. :mustache:

  10. If I'm here, then it's at least a 6. How often do people call you to fix or solve something for them?
  11. Quiet, busy, opinionated If only you knew how many plants I have. (Yes, many) What would you say is your oldest hobby?
  12. It's a shame our times as staff didn't overlap, it would have been fun. I think most people understand you are perfect for this, Riki. Good luck, I believe in you! (By the way I did remember to wave to you when I flew over Poland!)
  13. I'm fluent in four languages, learning a fifth. How much time do you spend browsing the internet per day?
