Do you ever ask yourself why you bother? Why it matters when you know some people are just not worth it? Sometimes I get so caught up in trying- either directly or indirectly- to help alter someone's (or a group of someones') actions or thinking in a more productive direction that I forget that they aren't worth the effort or thought invested. Complacency, ideology and feelings are the law of the world, not critical thinking and common sense. I should remember that the next time I begin to care.

I much prefer a physical copy to a digital one. My eyes seem to always have a hard time adjusting to e-books and I sometimes like to mark in them. And the smell of old paper is still irresistible.

Shots and having blood drawn don't really bother me, but watching the vacutainer that the blood is stored in fill up really quickly can unnerve me pretty easily. There's something about the thought of a cavitation forming in my veins that just feels unsettling to me. The needles don't hurt unless the person drawing blood is really bad at it.

My husband and I were separated for a long time until recently and I lived in other countries in the span of that time. I still loved him the whole time so I suppose if my experience with that is any indicator, then I guess I could say yes. Yes in that it didn't kill me or anything, but it was terribly lonely and sometimes miserable. Then again, it doesn't really fit the mold of a long-distance relationship. But in a typical online dating scenario, I don't think I would like that very much at all. I would pretty much need to have him here with me. How important is it to you to share many hobbies with your partner? Is one enough or do you think sharing every interest would make you and him/her closer?

I do not support or understand the idea of polygamy (or polyamory). Faithfulness has no meaning if you just marry multiple people. If you have a partner, what did you do for Valentine's Day with them? If you don't, what would have been your ideal Valentine's Day thing to do?

It depends on how often they say it. If it's all the time, then that's strange. But if they're just trying to address you or keep your attention then I think that's normal. Saying someone's name multiple times just to keep their attention eventually feels a bit too formal. Almost how it is when you're talking to a therapist or doctor and they keep punctuating a point with "-isn't that right, Jeļena?" or "-does that make sense, Jeļena?". Or for some people it can just be annoying. If I'm already engaged in a conversation with someone, I don't think I'll have to say their name to get their attention anymore.

It's our first Valentine's Day together in a long time so we'll be going out to dinner and spend the night in town as soon as he gets home from work. Hopefully he's up for a little dancing cause I wanna. Same question.
