  1. I got close the second time around. I had figured I'd get closer to blackout on the first one too, but here's where they ended.
  2. Oh sure now you want to be the diesel version of the lost city of El Dorado but you couldn't do that last time.
  3. "Wake up, we might have to evacuate" Last Easter afternoon. Finally got to sleep after not sleeping well and then a over eager deputy, a lazy Forest Service fire department, and some morons having a camp fire and shooting explosives in the driest year since 1870 ruined it. But I wasn't tired for the rest of the day though.
  4. My dad's gym teacher lived to be something like 105. He Wrote a book called "The first 99 years" and was in the middle of the sequel called "The first 104 years" or something. Most of my family makes it to atleast the late 80s, there has been a few 100+ in the family, and the only time they don't is when cancer decides they're only going to make it half way there or some weird accident, like getting struck by lightning.
  5. I got a tablet for a gift, a somewhat off brand one and I don't exactly know what to do with it...
  6. Good sunset tonight, made for a decent picture, just too bad out name is cut into the steel and our yard is very recognizable, so for now here's this:

(If I can find a way to decently edit the main picture I'll post it, it really is a nice shot)

  7. I've got one I think and I'll go again. So with the new card you use all the already mentioned terms? Down the left, ignore the diagonal. @TBD
  8. If they don't do anything to make up for it, and it's bad enough, sit and bide my time. A good chance will eventually come along. I used to sit and forgive everything, but it seemed like to me I was just getting walked on all the time. Little things I'll let go but bigger, no, or at least at this time. Kinda funny I find this now, when 3 hours ago something I'd call a major injustice happened to me, courtesy of a greedy lawyer.
  9. It seems like every time we set up our pool, the summer becomes so busy that we can't use it and when we don't, the opposite.
  10. Note to self: do not factory reset phone just switch to new phone.

Never realized how much crap has accounts and how many passwords I don't know.

  11. I'll give it a shot. Long distance bingo sounds interesting.
  12. I'd say if it did come up it was probably shot down for the "they're probably related" thing, something I'm sure they wanted to stay away from. Otherwise I'd say most "one time use" characters from MLP would fit here. (I'll be back to edit and add on to this later)
  13. Is this about her comments or some other "outrage" now? I thought it was about the former but after reading some of the replies I'm thinking the latter? I've "perused" the series and I still don't get the hype, but that's just me.
  14. Nice phrasing of that first question. Anyways I look at my grandparents: they went on and off(farm work) up to 8th grade and did fine, some very well in life. Now if it actually taught you about life, I would say yes make it mandatory, but anything I've been taught there...hasn't really helped. Yes there are thing all should know, but they clearly do not teach them well today. Then it seemed to me that once you hit college you had to start over at 9th grade again, no matter your scores and grades. Then after you take those generals and crap then you can actually take what you're interested in...starting at the "explain it to a 2 year old" level. Then again that can be the US's lovely system.
  15. Remember the phone post about the screen? Now my phone is a Samsung ipod equivalent. No cellular service at all, no detecting any.

Slightly good news is that I think I know the problem: there is a very loud rattling sound coming from the general area of where the antenna plugs in. Bad news: I've never split/opened a smart phone, but I guess it's worth a shot and hopefully ifixit knows what they're doing and selling. Maybe that was my screen issue too. And usb port issue. It definitely would be nice just to be a few lose connections and nothing major.

  16. I guess I use multiple browsers to separate things... It's ok. I somewhat liked it better before the chrome reboot.
  17. I get to replace a phone screen because it felt like it was time to fail. Babied it for 5 years, plug it in to charge and come back to a low signal CRT faded like display. Oh and its 5 years old. Stock is limited. And expensive
  18. I haven't and I will not willingly get one either. Eligible to get it but someone else can have it. I just don't trust that they made it in that short of time and how they keep stopping, starting, and finding side effects. I mean for cattle its billions of dollars, hundreds of millions of head and decades of development and testing, and that's for something that will live to 2 or 20 max before it dies naturally or gets butchered, and that's before they start checking that it doesn't cause something in humans or pets that eat said cattle. Edit: to top that off, they say you can still get it, still spread it, and the only thing it may do is it may lessen your symptoms. Then around here in our rural area, aside from the nursing home and hospital, life never changed at all. I think I'll end this paragraph here as I'm sure I'll get shown the door if I say how it's been in my area...
  19. A cow told me to shut up when I was yelling at another cow for leaving it's new born calf behind. I proceeded to laugh in dream and woke up laughing. A cow as in an actual cow. And the rest just sat there like it was normal.
  20. The German settlements in Russia(not German-Russian), Prussia, Germany, Norway, and Sweden.
  21. You sit and baby a thousand dollar phone for five years and it rewards you with a screen that wants to be a CRT with poor signal or wants to show you what everything would look like if you printed it off and stuck it in a south window for a few years.

In other words, I guess I will see: A. How long can you go on a failing Note 8 screen and/or B. How hard is it to replace the screen, battery, and USB/charging board and how hard is it to make it waterproof or C. How nice a Note 9 is after sitting for four years.

There's not even a crack in the screen yet and any drops have been onto soft surfaces or less than a foot.

  22. "Don't you think a armed Pinkerton Detective is a little overkill for a greeter, at (home improvement/grocery store)?"
  23. My social media consists of Facebook with whatever family and 2 or 3 people I wanted to remember after school and college, and then it functions more as a news like thing for me: I have liked the grain, farming, ranching, and livestock markets/companies(and etc) so its basically just news about my industry, agriculture. I really like forums alot better because I can ask a completely stupid question, and probably not get beat up over it, and if I do, its anonymous and I can continue on or disappear and the sign up again as a completely new and innocent user...which I've had to do on a few agricultural forums before...due to said stupid questions...But overall they seem to be alot more useful compared to searching or asking for info in a Facebook group.
  24. Well the first time it was fine, the next 20 weren't. Guess who got stuck watching cousins when it got released to home video? In a way I didn't have to do much but I still had to hear it 20 times. Not your typical Disney princess movie that's for sure.
  25. I'd say it's not a bad movie, but it's not great either.
