    probs not bolton seems to be the sort of character who craves a very certain kind of power over others. i admit i don't know anything about that source material, but i'm familiar with his archetype to know that whatever issues he has can't be resolved with someone being kind to him. even if that someone is fluttershy herself in fact, those characters are often diametrically opposed to whatever values someone like fluttershy might have, so they'll want to destroy them. so unfortunately i think it's a pipe dream.

    i actually gave up coffee a few months ago. i was having two cups a day since, like... 2015? 2016? can't remember, but it was a while. nowadays, i just have one cup of tea. i don't use sugar, instead opting to use splenda - i'm not terribly fond of the sugar rush i used to get, although i can't deny it used to help me through my less productive days.

    oh, never - at the last place we used to live in, my parents had a CRT in theirs, but i never had any TVs in mine. never needed one. at some point, going on the internet was adequate enough of a replacement for television. and i always had a computer in my room.

      @Ryuuko Oh no, it's not dumb at all! Learning a new language is a great way to stimulate your brain and learn more about foreign cultures. Forgoing the pastel pony show is a small price to pay to enrich your mind, I would say. :darling:

      I have indeed heard great things about the Japanese dub of Friendship is Magic nonetheless, even if it does stop rather early on. I am sure it is still well worth your time regardless, especially with how star-studded the JP dub is. Why, they even got Izumi Kitta, also known as Rii Uzawa of BanG Dream, to voice Rainbow Dash!

      oh, you're into racing! i think i'm more into the history of motorsports than actually watching any of those events live. in particular, i'm quite the fan of Group B rally that was held back in the 80s.

      Yeah, I've watched F1 since 2010 and got into MotoGP a few years ago. And I do watch rallying too when it's on. So pretty much everything that's shown here. :ButtercupLaugh:

      Thanks! As I always say, it's hardly an OC, more of a self-insert. I just used by hair and eye color (well, my hair has turned dark brown now, but this was made ten years ago!), so it's not as creative as it looks. lol

    it's a life-changing commitment and frankly, with the effects of climate change and the ever-rising cost of living, bringing new life into the world has never been harder. i would assume you'd need a strong support network for the kid to have a halfway decent childhood. poverty isn't fun. i just can't subject my own kid to such a thing willingly. it's one thing for it to be temporary, but years on end? no thanks.

    i really enjoyed this episode. looking back at it now, it felt a bit detached from the preceding entries in that it felt more like a dramedy. i hadn't remembered ponyville to be, well, that callous towards fluttershy. poor girl. i have a rather differing view on this episode as a whole, namely that it wasn't fluttershy who actually kept my interest. it was everyone else and their attitudes toward her. from pinkie pie's aggressive haggling and rarity's slick use of her charms, to iron will's egotism in releasing fluttershy's clearly pent-up resentment towards everyone else. even if the overall atmosphere made me feel uncomfortable, i still really enjoyed the worldbuilding in this entry.
