  1. It's extremely rude to not try to get along when you and someone you Don't like are both guests. If possible, avoid such a situation. If that's not possible, try to work through it somehow.
  2. Pinkie Pie up on the table with her forehoofs in the air and panting heavily after her...musical number...is literally one of the most terrifying things I've ever seen. Who would have thought that Ponyville had developed a touch of Xenophobia. It should have been obvious to them that Zecora was at the furthest, a first cousin of theirs.
  3. Pinkie Pie's one pony band was hilarious. Have tuba will travel! So was Princess Celestia's very awkward visit at the end. The idea of Fluttershy inadvertently releasing what amounts to a swarm of locusts on Ponyville, reminds us that there is power in her small, tiny cute woodland creatures.
  4. "Winter Wrap Up" is one of my favorite FIM songs. The various teams the Ponies were divided into were neat. This episode really drove home that all ponies, be they Pegasi, Unicorn or Earth Pony all took their roles as stewards of the natural world seriously and worked together to care for Equestria. By this time of this Episode, Twi was still struggling with some lingering sense of being an outsider in Ponyville and not knowing what her role really was. Her eventual role as an organizer presages her eventual transformation into an Alicorn Princess.
  5. The momentous founding of the CMC, and Ponyville would never be the same. What is a Cutie Mark? What's in a Cutie Mark? Is it the process of adolescence? Is it young adulthood? Is it a guiding anima, is it a predestination of a Pony's fate? These questions can be debated forever. This episode introduced the matter in the context of Pony society.
  6. Rainbow Dash's megalomania is pitted against AJ's stubbornness and pride. This episode illustrates that no relationship is perfect, no matter how treasured. It showcases areas which RD and AJ need to work on. Quite the Light Cycle duel they got into.
  7. Poor Rarity. She tried so hard in this episode. There's certainly a reason why she designs clothing and the other Mane 6 ponies don't.
  8. Twilight Sparkle's skepticism towards a very special, and handy, ability that Pinkie Pie has seemed unsympathetic, and uncharacteristically close-minded. Twilight Sparkle is more aware than most ponies about what a magical world Equestria is, so her reaction to Pinkie's tics just doesn't make any sense.
  9. Rarity's wings were beautiful enough and got her so high that she reenacted the myth of Icarus and Daedelus. Meanwhile, RD puts some really nasty bullies in their place in the end. I love any episode which features the hot air balloon, so it was awesome to see it arrive in Cloudsdale. It was neat that Twi could cast a spell to let the rest of them walk on clouds. The Sonic Rainboom seems to be a magical proclamation of everything that makes Rainbow Dash so unique and powerful.
  10. The CMC's dynamic is not without its problematics. Not every idea is a good idea, as the CMC are living proof of. But whichever idea comes to mind they always seem to think it's a great idea. They then start feeding off each other and spinning themselves up. Of course, they are just hyper fillies, so it is understandable. They got rambunctious at bed time and Fluttershy was not equal to putting them done. Honestly, Fluttershy was foolish to have taken on the task. Her cottage is no place for three trunt up fillies.
  11. Ah ha! I am no longer a food item, now I am a proper critter! Watch me begin to multiply!

  12. It's alright. I understand the CMC's quest and the lessons it tries to teach and why it's a part of FIM. Sometimes though a given episode will just be the CMC being pushed around by DT and SS until some ironic twist makes good on the situation. At other times, their misadventures can seem tedious and indecisive. But there's usually always a couple laughs along the way.
  13. Wow! What a piece of Art, bad@55 indeed! Usually it's Pinkie Pie, but decked out like this, Rarity can go on a jaunt with Doomguy. I liked this episode! As I always say, excellent world building where we get to see a new corner of Equestria, an adventure out in the wilderness. The Diamond Dogs were both humorous and satisfying villains.
  14. Very simply, I feel that this episode doesn't get either Rarity or Fluttershy quite right. I just can't really allow myself to believe that Rarity, having asked Fluttershy to help her would then turn on her THAT abruptly. Sure, Rarity regularly let's the glam and attention of the business aspect of what she does get the better of her, but this was just kind of an ugly episode.
  15. Well this episode sets out to teach us a lesson about a very important and tragic reality; migration turning into violent invasion, prejudice and mutual mistrust. Look at our human world. It's necessary to talk about this and the sooner kids become conscious of it the better. It was a nice touch that even the Earth Ponies were horrified when the Buffalo chief was harmed. He was a charismatic and brilliantly realized character. I don't know, the battle scene itself seemed kind of flippant, but maybe I am being nitpicky. At least it ended in a mutually contented result.
  16. A Fav episode of mine and certainly a great Fluttershy episode. The part when Fluttershy tries to get Philomena to sing, only to get a pancake of goodness-knows- what in the face was hilarious. Princess Celestia's seeming lack of concern for Philomena's condition was foreshadowing, though not obvious foreshadowing. This was a well written episode and the Phoenixes are beautiful MLP creatures.
  17. This could have been a very interesting episode which could have revealed a lot about the earlier lives of the Mane 6. Instead it's just another let's all cheer for Rainbow Dash episode. They weren't creative enough with this one. Something of note had to have happened in the lives of the Mane 6 before the met each other and this episode could have served to let us look at the history of each pony as an individual.
  18. I don't dislike Owlowiscious. His intentions and priorities remain opaque. I am nominally satisfied of his loyalty, nominally. His introduction was a bit disarming. He remains somehow ambiguous to me. Also, Twilight was a bit insensitive to Spike's conflicted feelings. Spike does put up with a lot from Twi.
  19. This is possibly my favorite episode. Possibly. Certainly it is my favorite Fluttershy episode ever. The...episode she experiences in the garden is, priceless. You have to be a Fluttershy fan to truly get it. The rest of the episode is pure comedic gold, especially when Rarity finally lets loose on her snobby fop of a date. I loved how authentically Greek RD's beautiful dress was btw. Also, this episode is significant in that Applejack, with her usual common sense and steadying words addresses a big (potential) elephant in the room of a question. But AJ gives us the answer in an honest and unlabored manner. It was also the perfect flourish that Princess C shows up at the doughnut shop to tell them that for once the Grand Galloping Gala was actually entertaining for a change.
  20. Considering that Princesses Celestia and Luna were very much aware that there was a real threat against Canterlot, it seemed like a very improbable time to throw a royal wedding. Especially when the groom was in charge of the Royal Guard and should have been too busy. Not that it mattered. I guess I'm just a little bit disappointed in everypony. Queen Chrysalis was right there under their noses and when Twi raised the alarm, not even Princess Celestia wanted to hear her out. The Royal Guard was ineffectual, Princess Celestia was caught entirely off balance and Equestria almost fell forever in less than a single hour. Were some policies and proceedures subjected to any revision in the wake of this catastrophe?
  21. The twist that they were all guilty and all just took a nice chomp out of those delicious confections was priceless, and I say darn straight. Who ever heard of transporting valuable baked goods in a display car? Those should have been in a refrigerated car with no windows under lock and key.
  22. The single big issue, and it is a big issue that I have with this episode is that; After having been bullied so consistently by Diamond Tiara for so long and so consistently, when she gets into a position of authority, the CMC bend over backwards to earn her approval and hurt everyone else in doing so. Again, the CMC seem obstinately naive, or dare I say dense at sometimes. Again, where was their teacher, why were they allowed to publish those stories unchecked for so long? The CMC end up getting severely chastised for what they did, all DT got was a demotion and some black ink on her hair. And again, DT seems to have learned nothing. At this point she still seems to be an entirely one dimensional character and I just kept waiting to see her really learn something and make some progress.
  23. An important episode to help us get to know Fluttershy better. It gives valuable insight into the experiences Fluttershy has had and why she lives with so much anxiety. It also is a trippy illustration of HOW the pegasi go about managing the water cycle. Rainbow Dash share a certain bond, by virtue of having grown up together and by being Pegasi who live in Ponyville. This episode focuses on that relationship in the context of a crisis. Besides, a tornado of Pegasi, why not?
  24. The idea of "The Great Dragon Migration" sounded like a neat idea. But for them to just turn it into a trash fire of unsupervised flunky teenagers ruined it. The adult dragons are seemingly absent or indifferent. There's nothing redeeming about the dragons on display. So again, I am wondering why they are so one dimensionally portrayed. If that's how they are, what's so special about Spike, besides the fact that he was raised by Ponies instead. I am not one of those people, so I am not seriously arguing from this point of view, but only floating it as a thought exercise: Spike and the Ponies could be said to resemble Babar the Elephant in some respects. Spike is destined to become a powerful force of nature, same is true of Babar. The Old Lady teaches Babar to behave like a European, wear clothing and walk on two legs. I am not really accusing the ponies of colonialism, cause I am really not that Pony, but I didn't enjoy this episode much. I think the comparison is not totally invalid, given how the dragons are characterized.
  25. On a bad day Twi can become so OCD that she will violate the laws of physics and introduce loops and paradoxes in an attempt to fix non existent problems. Nothing like attempting to break into a library which you already have authorization to be in.
