  1. Presently I am doing 2 classic DOOM Megawads, I'm finishing a second run through Dungeons Of Hinterberg. A charming and relaxing adventure crawler that was released last year. I am also replaying Thief: Deadly Shadows for who knows the how manyeth time. I am about to start off on a game called Visage, and no lie it looks like the scariest thing I will ever play yet. And in my case that's saying a lot. Why do I keep playing these terrifying games? Nightmare Night is certainly this Pony's fav holiday.
  2. It depends on how you go about doing it. Most bathtubs are between 40 to 70 gallons. Let's get the average and say that our tub has a capacity of 55 gallons. That's the same as a volume of 12,705 cubic inches. A single serving packet of honey mustard has a volume of about 0.415078 cubic inches. So, to fill up one bathtub, you're going to need 30,609 single serving packets of honey mustard, just about. To fill up 38 of these 55 gallon bathtubs, you're gonna need 1,163,142 single serving packets of honey mustard. A typical commercial box of these packets might contain a count of 200 units. So to fill up one bathtub, you're gonna need 154 boxes. To fill up 38 bathtubs, you're gonna need 5,852 boxes. This is a lot of single serving packets of honey mustard. However, as stated at the outset, it all depends how you go about it. If you are suggesting that one person would do this alone, one tub at a time, let's say it takes them 30 seconds to cut open one box and dump the entire contents into the tub and toss the box. That gets you 77 minutes, so just over an hour. Do it by yourself 38 times and that gets you 48.76 hours, so a tiny bit over two very tedious, boring non stop days of repetitive work. Now. If you did it in shifts of 4, to 8 to 12 or 16 hours, that would slow you down a great deal depending on how many hours your shift was. If you had 38 people filling up each tub, and they all kept the same pace, a little over an hour. If they don't keep the same pace, longer, but I can't provide a specific estimate without knowing what their differing rates would be. Cheers.
  3. Sure I worry about the future. To one extent or another, anyone who has a mind, and that's everyone, does. But rather than psychoanalyze myself anymore, I have hit upon a very different approach to living with it. It didn't come to me quickly, easily or naturally. I had to be spurred to it. The catalyst in my case was the profession I was in. I worked first hand with people who had lost everything, and often, worries about the future and pain from the past had been very harmful to them. Nothing that follows below should be interpreted as instructions or advice, I'm only telling how I relate to the problem of the future. If there is something here that's useful to you, take it and use it. If not, forget it. For my part, I only ever have this present moment. I just inhale and exhale gently, not huffing and puffing, just one inhale and exhale. Happily. Leisurely. And as though my life depends on it, which of course it does. There is no future as such. Since it hasn't happened yet, it doesn't exist. There might be scientific reasons for disagreeing with that statement, and other explanations which are more correct in some absolute manner, but none of that is more likely to help me feel any better. I adopt a view that fits better with my human, subjective experience of life. Both the future and the past imply an opposite of what I am experiencing right now. What is the opposite of my present moment? There is no opposite. The horned, clawed, demonic, devouring opposite does not exist. Up to a point the future could be whatever I want it to be. Past that point, I can do absolutely nothing about it. But it hasn't happened YET. Of course it's coming, but at its own time and its own pace, not mine. This doesn't actually mean that I don't worry. Indeed I can't help worrying. The breath however, can give me something else to focus on, something else to take my seat upon while my worrying runs its course through my mind. From that seat, I can have a different vantage point from which to just observe the worry, or the desire, or anything else that arises from within my mind. My mind is gonna mind. That's what it does. That's its job. I can't stop it and I'm not trying to. It is a great and damaging perennial misconception that I can deliberately quiet my mind. My mind can become more tranquil on the surface if I stop splashing around in the currents and waves. But I don't kid myself. Underneath a more tranquil surface, the churning continues. If it didn't, thought would become impossible, and that is not really what I need or want. Not at this time anyways. I CAN'T quiet the mind. However, what I can do is use the breath to foster the practice of not attaching to those anxieties and desires and thus, not have my consciousness swept up onto yet another bad trip. Eventually even the breath just does its thing, and I just observe. Having done this for a decade or three, eventually I can learn to forgive my mind for how it reacts to what it's been through and how it worries about what is still ahead. And lo and behold, without any magic spell or blinding burst of philosophical insight, or out of some magic pill, compassion arises all on its own, and from that at least some peace and tranquility. I feel actual compassion for myself. And having achieved that, I am capable and inclined to extend that to all created beings, to all of creation, with untainted sincerity. But that's just how I do it. It didn't happen overnight. It doesnt always happen, and it doesn't always work. That would be an improbable, unreasonable expectation. I had to toughen up to get beyond that. And the odds were against me of even getting this far, and they're against everyone. Life is hard. Either denying that or not worrying about isn't possible and is not correct. However, I would submit that there is the good news that anyone can indeed learn to live with it, and learn to live with it quite well. If I can do it, anyone can. We've made it this far, we can make it further. I always just try to take it one moment at a time.
  4. I love how well developed and feature rich this forum is. It is a very well built up platform with a lot of history and good development under its belt by this point. I say this as someone who spent the 2000's and 2000-teens on many old school php forums. Most of them are gone now, or tombs and over many years, none of them ever really took the time to add features and be both so thorough and well organized as MLP forums is. The moderation here seems to be balanced, fair and tempered but also firm. And that's more than most places on the net can say for themselves nowadays. Even though I am new, I am yet to experience any negativity at all. There also seems to be no over zealous gatekeepering either. This is not to be underrated. I like how visual this place is and how decked out with fan art it is. It's great to see a hub of the fandom really trying to support the artists. In trying to get back out of my shell and add a positive context to my life. MLP Forums is exactly what I was looking for!
  5. I am in two incompatible places at once atm. So I have all the stress of the bad place, and the stress of the incompatibility, and that's a lot of stress. Fortunately, the good place is a very good place to be, so it's keeping me going. But this is a very unsatisfactory situation and there is no quick way out. If I can sustain my positive trend for two years, maybe I will be able to say that things are really better in any lasting sense.
  6. I am thinking about what my next moves should be on a great many, separate frontlines.
  7. Warning up cinnamon pop tarts in the microwave.
  8. Welcome. This is a wonderful community. Reading through your intro... I had even had a Gen 1 Pony and a pair of MLP puzzles when I was a little guy WAY back in the day. When my big Broof told me that he was gonna show my my first episode of FIM, I will admit that I raised an eyebrow. Thank goodness I gave it a chance and humored him. I too love the fantasy world building FIM always does a great job of it. Flutter, Luna and Twi are my best ponies too, also Rarity. My enjoyment of MLP has jumped too many levels to count since signing on here and I hope you have the same experience.
  9. Even though it's only a bar or two, when she tries to get Philomena to sing in the Phoenix episode, it really is another good demonstration of how beautiful her voice actually is.
  10. Beautiful flowers are sometimes deadly. It's interesting, Opaline's comment that Twilight Sparkle is still thwarting her. I know it is Gen 5's view of Gen 4, but it would have been interesting to see that history explored more in Mark Your Mark. As I've said elsewhere already. No, I do not consider Gen 4 to be the equal of Gen 5. Still, I appreciate it's attempt to be an extension of Gen 4. I know well that many ponies do not, and that it's a sore spot for them that the Harmony of the end of Gen 4 did not last. There had to be some worthwhile premise for a new Generation though. Either Gen 4 needed to go on forever or they needed to do something else. I am not a fan of the idea that they should have called it quits just because Gen 4 ended with Equestria becoming a true Halcyon. Equestria has a mythical background going which we've been learning about since literally the 1980s. That's 40 years basically. I am also not a fan of breaking the history of Equestria into unrelated blocks. But that's just me. So even tantalizing, brief statements like the one Opaline makes in this episode are just terribly interesting to me, but that's just me. I also think it's an interesting choice that Zipp pointedly does not want the throne of Zephyr Heights and really Pipp doesn't seem to care terribly much either. And it's kind of a complex and nuanced point that Queen Haven's quit reasonable concern that the succession is properly seen to can cause tension not just between her and her daughters but that the matter can also draw out the complexities of Pipp's and Zipp's relationship as well. One common fan gripe I do agree with, Pipp's cellphone and social media foot print are becoming annoying. I am writing this in the midst of my first watch of Make Your Mark. I did start with the New Generation movie. I don't know that Pipp being a princess and a pop star really works. It does feel kind of gratuitous. It seems to point to structural problems in the Pegasi culture that are really just an oh so thinly critique of our own. And while I agree that the things Pipp's character seems to poke fun at are not good things, Pipp's character comes to close to just setting a bad example. That was certainly on display here when she seems almost rabidly fixated on her darn cellphone, even more than usual. I am also noticing a pattern that even though Zipp clearly has the healthy suspicion and self starting personality to be a great detective, so far the Mane 5 seem to be a bit dismissive of her. It only takes two or three times to be a pattern. I hope this doesn't turn into what Star Trek TNG had with Worf, where every single thing he said would get blithely shot down.
  11. I have a Rainbow Dash Plushie that I'm thinking comes from the same series as the Fluttershy pictured here. What a darling pony. Any little one would get off to the right start with a friend like her.
  12. Rarity falls for a lame hipster critic pony and experiences a hysterical bout of jealousy. This episode was brilliant and hilarious. It shows the solidity of their relationship that Rarity did not try to harm AJ, just compete with her. It also shows AJ knowing exactly what the Doctor's order is about how to fix the situation. And they tell the hipster to get lost in a way that isn't too preachy. The celebration is then a total success and another gem in Rarity's crown. A WIN of an episode and an entertaining romp to get there.
  13. I am of a certain age and a certain generation, and as a result, seeing Weird Al in a FIM episode is just very special to me. Just like it was special to me to see him on Win, Loose, or Draw back in the day. I am glad he is still with us and doing what he does best and I am glad to see him doing it with Pinkie Pie. The Clint Eastwood bit was hilarious.
  14. Walmart has this for $12.99 on Clearance. I'm going for it while the going is good. Who knows how long it will be once they clear all the residual Gen 5 off the shelves.

  15. I need one or more Ponies to help me finish and already started project which I am 100% serious about finishing. This project is all about transporting Pinkie Pie on a brief Jaunt into a very different world. I have laid the foundation, but I am unable to quite finish this myself. So, I need somepony who can animate Pinkie Pie having a brief conversation, and I need somepony who can integrate that onto existing footage. The overall runtime of this project is only going to be three minutes, it would not take much, but I don't have the necessary skills or software. If I can find one pony who can help with both issues, great, if I can find two or more ponies who can help great. I don't want to spoil the project before it is released, so if you are interested in doing a small quick film / animation project, send me a message for more info.
  16. Welcome to MLP Forums, this is a happy place and we are all glad to have you here.
  17. Welcom to MLP Forums. This is a great place and your OC is beautiful!
  18. Happy February! I am so happy my birthday is on the 15th of this month!
  19. I have now added my humble two cents to the discussion of every episode of FIM which I have rewatched so far. My total rewatch will continue on Monday and Tuesday which is my next off day.

I do not represent that my own contributions are any blinding bursts of insight, but it is still a nice feeling to be participating in the conversation.

  20. The episode that started it all. This series opener was not the first episode of FIM that I watched. Even so, when I did see it, I was in a very real sense still discovering FIM for the first time. I already had some sense that FIM was at least one standard deviation above the usual. But I hadn't yet seen how epic FIM really is. I was stunned by what a vast and ancient world Equestria was. That is was ruled by Princesses who were almost demi-goddesses, or that a whole geography and cultural history were in play. When Princess Luna reappeared from the crater of Nightmare Moon, I was very surprised. I didn't yet know why, but I got the sense that it was a very good thing that Princess Luna accepted Princess Celestia's offer to return. Unexpectedly epic.
  21. The rest of the Mane 6 suffered a bout of bona fide selfishness and nepotism in this episode. Twilight's stomach grumbling was too funny.
  22. Nominally, you could make a compelling case that AJ is the most balanced, grounded and even and steady pony of the Mane 6. But we all have our bad days and AJ goes way off kilter here. It's a trip which could have resulted from drug use but it's just unreasonable stubbornness, a lack of insight and fueled by extreme sleep deprivation. This was a funny, early episode that played a big part in really getting me hooked on this series. "CHOCOLATE CHIPS!" "BAKING SODA"
  23. Even though she's a bully and a brute, Gilda the Griffon is an interesting and fantastical character, and charming for how mythical and vivid she is. It's interesting that the Ponies share their world with all these classic creatures. I like how this episode featured scenes way up in the sky. Also Gilda's comeuppance was hilarious and it's perfect that Rainbow Dash could clearly see Gilda's attitude for what it really was.
  24. I flat out do not like Trixie in her early appearances. It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. If I were Princess Celestia and I discovered any pony was treating my citizens like Trixie was, I'd zap her hindquarters right out of Ponyville, but good.
  25. I didn't like this episode. You would have thought that the Ponies would have come to more of an understanding with the dragons than this. Also, the situation was needlessly escalated by Rainbow Dash foolishly engaging A FULLY GROWN DRAGON HEAD ON! RD, your head is used for thinking, not for use as a battering ram. Don't let RD vacation in Skyrim, the dragons there are not so lethargic as the ones in Equestria seem to be.
