  1. A friend sent me this recently, seems like a worthwhile song to listen to.
  2. I'll be watching Looney Tunes in a moment, the WB Classics collection DVD's came, good, now I can watch Sylvester and Tweety and get my mind off miserable things for a bit while I have a cup of tea. I hope Silent Dusk is doing okay, he said he was feeling unwell this morning I think, he came back on and said he was taking medication for something and is now feeling tired. I like My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and Disney movies like Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, but I have seen enough Princess Fantasy for the time being, I'm going to slapstick humor for some laughs.

  5. Welcome to MLP Forums FOEWNS2015 Nice to meet you, and to have you here in this community where good things happen and where we can publicly discuss our interests, concerns and opinions. about your favourite Mane Six Pony from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, Rainbow Dash, though my favourite is Fluttershy, I honestly do see why you like Rainbow Dash, some people criticize her character a lot, and while I can understand their complaints, Rainbow Dash does have good qualities we should not ignore in my opinion. Her drive to be an athlete is admirable, let's face it, people don't get as much exercise as they should nowadays, I'm guilty of that myself, and for a fictional character like Rainbow Dash to be depicted in active participation of physical training is helpful, both to encourage that to little girls but also boys and older people like men and women. although she can be stubborn sometimes, and competitive, it is important for people to recognize the fact that Rainbow Dash is capable of empathy, she has shown it in the show many times, a notable example is in The Return of Harmony where she stuck up for her friends who were being bullied by Discord. She has also come to Fluttershy's defence in several episodes, including Hurricane Fluttershy and Flutter Brutter. She is a supportive friend who does love others and not just herself, even when she doesn't make it obvious sometimes. Be that as it may, people's opinions of RD vary from loving her to outright hating her characterization, but whichever side people are on, people are generally respectful about their differences of opinion here. I do agree Rainbow Dash's behavior in Tanks for the Memories was out of line, however even then, her behavior stemmed from never wanting to be separated from her pet Tortoise, not because she wanted to hurt him. If the show had depicted as characters making perfect decisions every time, there would be nothing to learn from and it would be very boring. What is important is people look at what they did wrong and make effort to change that behavior, just like Twilight Sparkle did in not judging others for how they look, she took that lesson from the end of episode Bridled Gossip and into episode Luna Eclipsed. I love Luna Eclipsed episode, and yes, Rainbow Dash got a taste of her own medicine for the pranks she pulled which was funny, Princess Luna showing her mischievous but playful side. Anyway, I hope you have a great time here, the bigger the MLP community is, the better. We do appreciate it when more fans of the show enter this community, there's no sense in gatekeeping who is qualified or not.
  6. Plus there's a risk of drinks getting spiked, I know. Bars may be a place where people like to hang out, but they are generally a risky place to be, as for the price of drinks, airport bars are the worst for that in my opinion, if people like to get a drink there it's often better to just buy water or a tea or coffee, and then wait until they get on a plane where they can order their more tasty beverages like tea or coffee, or booze for people over the age of 21, sometimes food and drink come with the flight booking. Duty frees can be a good deal sometimes too. As for what you said about my mental health, I have not looked more deeply into that to tell you the truth, it hasn't crossed my mind.
  7. In that My Little Pony episode Applebuck Season, Applejack putting earthworms in that cake mixture was a silly thing to do, Spike did not think so though. Ponies saying eww to him was an apt response, that was hilarious. :D

  8. I just advised Snoopy Fan to get a mask to use outdoor for his allergy.
  9. Since I'm lacking excitement in my life in general, experiencing mental health problems like depression and anxiety, sometimes triggers set off panic attacks, I've been tempted to go on the booze myself, it's not a good idea long term or even the short term depending on how extreme people go about it. Some people get drunk for fun nights out but even then, things can go badly wrong, from fights, to even alcohol poisoning and being taken to a hospital to have it removed, sometimes people don't even make it to the hospital. I drink wine sometimes on Christmas, birthdays or new year, but that is about it really, the occasional burst of fun, not constant. I do admit though vodka and orange does taste nice, and I do get bored very easily, but no, it's better for my health to skip the booze and just go watch a movie or talk with family, I enjoyed a pizza last night. Then again consumption of fast food can kill people just as quickly as alcohol can in certain cases, I don't have type 2 diabetes, at least not yet, but I cannot imagine my lack of exercise helping that. Existing in this world has been, difficult, avoiding more morbid terms? coming here to talk with people who have similar interests or at least understand each other enough to be nice to them, like people giving hugs to Bairro yesterday was very cool to see. Positivity here does help lift the mood, you could say, a little piece of Equestria, exists here on this forum. We cannot go there physically, but the ideals they share and live by, can be lived by through us. I don't want to go to a bar anyway, social anxiety as well as seeing people barf up would send me rushing out the door.
  10. It's not just the day and night cycle, temperature and phases of the moon Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are responsible for in Equestria, although you knew it, but you did not want to make the posts too long to make it easier for people to read, what is shown in MLP official, is Princess Luna takes care of psychological problems for Ponies in their dreams as well. She did this for Cutie Mark Crusaders, offered them support to deal with bullying and insecurities about not getting their cutie marks.

I just wished the episodes had been more thorough with the explanation, realistically Princess Luna should have been a qualified therapist to make this less controversial, shall we say? like if we were actual citizens in that fantasy realm Equestria, it's logical to deduce her to have had some formal education on psychiatry and psychology if she goes out of her way to use dreams to help Ponies successfully deal with their fears. If she hadn't, that would not look good for her.

  11. I agree, and about the restrooms at the hospital, me neither, in fact it is good they hidden the contents of those buckets, because otherwise due to my emetophobia, which extends to animated vomit as well, I'd be sent into a panic attack. Even then, that doesn't devalue the message of the episode, Applejack is a workaholic but she also had an important lesson to learn about accepting help when offered. I think the workaholic analogy is ironically similar to alcoholic, since sleep deprivation and fatigue can be as detrimental and dangerous as being drunk. It is good to have work ethic and a sense of pride in doing it, where it becomes toxic is when individuals deliberately put their health at risk and then refuse help when others see they are struggling. That wasn't cool what Applejack did because she made Pinkie Pie and other Ponies at the hospital sick, due to botching up baked goods. What I was doing 10 minutes ago was reminiscing over posts I left on Twilight Soapbox, about a different topic.
  12. Thinking about the comment I left on Twilight Soapbox thread about the Monarchy in Equestria from My Little Pony FIM Since I cannot make political statements outside of that forum section or DMs here, I have no choice. I've given the reasons why I would rather support Luna and Celestia in that fictional world if I could live there which is not going to happen, than the rulers we have in real life though. Our rulers suck, and have done far worse things than Luna and Celestia ever did. I don't believe that is ever going to change, because human nature is far too broken. On the bright side, yeah some people with empathy exist, just not enough, but it is evident here on this forum.
  13. You seen this video yet by any chance Samurai Equine? good morning or whatever time it is over there by the way. About this video, I'd say outside of these examples given even in the case where Princess Celestia smiled about her pet Phoenix being turned to ash, she knew her pet Phoenix would revive itself. Sure, it became part of a trollestia meme about her, but I hardly see that as a valid attack on her morality. If her pet was gone permanently, then she would be sad about it I guarantee it.

Ah yes, the Wonderbolts. That also goes into another issue. We know the show had a series bible, but we have no idea how deeply it went into detail vs how much was just illustrated as a general/loose idea guide. It could be that the Wonderbolts were originally envisioned as just a team of performers, and it was only later that they were molded to be a pseudo military organization. There have been plenty moments in the show where if felt like Lauren and the team just had some loose ideas at first, then explored them in deeper detail as the show went on. This kind of thing could also affect how the two sisters are portrayed in the show; never wanting to go too far from what Lauren envisioned, but not having near enough material or not being brave enough to do more. Not to mention the mental attitude that MLP G4 is basically the Mane Six's show, not theirs.

@Samurai Equine this is true, I think they did have electoral local government in Equestria though since they had Mayors, so perhaps the Courts were already independent from the Monarchy, we just don't know because they never clarified that. It is fine to have Luna and Celestia be the enforcers and decree law, but as you said, having them two hash it out with each other could help make the law making process seem more fairer or more just. Celestia while she is kind and merciful, is not perfect and we have seen that, so having Luna corule with her as she was meant to, in Celestia's own words, would make their Monarchy a stronger state with effective leaders who knew what they were talking about.

The government of Equestria will always confuse me. It's the one kingdom I know of that can have other kingdoms within it. Allied with the princesses, yet still very much considered their own thing. It's like a contradiction that no one has a problem with. :derpytongue: If I wanted to make a negative stance on it, I'd question just how independent these kingdoms are if they exist within the kingdom of the two sisters. But it seems to work! Everypony is happy. If they aren't questioning it, I won't. As for mayors and such, I can actually see how that works! I can totally see Celestia and Luna creating other government titles and lower levels to help them manage all of Equestria. And if those positions are voted in by the citizens, then it gives us the best of both worlds; royal rule and democracy coexisting!

  14. Oh, there are some good remixes of songs out there, I cannot speak for this one as I was never a fan of this or the original, I guess I could listen to it later. But I have made a point in saying sometimes remixes can be better than the originals. For example The Pretender - feat Foo Fighters - Infected Mushroom. If you haven't listened to that one give it a try, I recommend it, it is well liked on Youtube.
  15. Watching episode Applebuck Season of My Little Pony, that cake mixture they baked up was proper nasty And at the hospital was a barf party, yuck, and it was all Applejack's fault.
  16. About that controversy about Monarchy existing in My little Pony Friendship is Magic, the same thing gets stirred up about Disney Princesses, another piece of culture war rubbish I want nothing to do with. Although I do agree that Sultan in Disney's Aladdin movie was not competent, Jasmine would be a better ruler of Agrabah in my opinion. Sultan did not see Jafar's treason as a red flag enough to have him removed, if Aladdin hadn't have come to save him, Agrabah would be forever under Jafar's control, that whole fiasco could have been avoided if Sultan had listened to Jasmine's concerns, on top of this, Sultan tried to force her into marriage.
  17. If I'm lucky, Night Sky may have the time to discuss something about the MLP Monarchy with me in Twilight Soapbox.
  18. We need a thread for this purpose, in Twilight Soapbox for that reason, if you'll join me there we can discuss it in a friendly manner and without violating their rules. Also I've said on there before in other threads I would much rather support the Monarchy in Equestria if I were in that fictional world than the backwards systems we have in the real world that perpetuate conflict. It amuses me that other people somehow think abolishing the Monarchy leads to a better result automatically, it does not and there is plenty of precedent for that. I don't agree with a lot of what Lilly Orchard says on Youtube but one thing she was right about, was the Monarchy, it isn't inherently worse than the alternative, it's more nuanced than some may think, when we add fictional stories into the mix like Equestria from My Little Pony FIM, that only bolsters our point further. I would like to discuss this in more detail here but unfortunately the rules of this site mean we can get into trouble for political discussion outside Twilight's Soapbox threads.
  19. I agree, however planned obsolescence and over consumption of resources is a problem we are all or mostly guilty of, we do it sometimes without even realizing it, such as our tendency to buy new instead of used but otherwise working order products. Okay hygiene may be a reasonable argument against second hand clothes, but what about electronic gadgets? Apple encourages this nefarious behavior as well, with their anti right to repair nonsense and patented hardware, making it harder for third party vendors to do repairs on phones or tablets without them malfunctioning again, then we have the problem where people are constantly upgrading to new phones every year, even when their old phones still work, it's madness, increasing the demand for toxic rare Earth materials like lithium and cobalt. I've made a habit out of buying used items lately, such as my Audio Technica r70x headphones, they were not new, but I managed to get them in good condition, seller claimed the box was damaged but when it arrived, the box did not even have a single dent on it. At any rate, purchasing used or refurbished electronics can reduce the e-waste problem, even if slightly. And I've not upgraded to a new phone in a very long time, I still have my old Samsung Galaxy S8, it still works and does what I need it to, so I see no reason to change it for a new one. I am worried about losing it though, which is why I got a portable music player to use for music listening sessions. But I do try to prevent buying things I don't need or will never use, some people are better than I am at this and don't even purchase half of the electronics I do and still manage, either because they cannot afford to, or they shop smarter. it is especially important to avoid throwing out stuff that still works if possible, because this is where the real problem is, things ending up in landfills or otherwise increasing demand for materials that are polluting the environment. Some people new buy stuff constantly just because they see somebody else who has the latest expensive luxury but not necessarily needed item, it is a vicious cycle that will ultimately make life harder for all of us.

You gave me a hug when I was feeling down before, now that you're feeling lonely, you may have one from me, it is okay Bairro, we care about you. I saw your post, I did not forget about you, I left you an hugs emoji about that, however seeing as Sparklefan1234 went the extra mile to give you a hugs picture, I see no reason not to do the same.

  21. I would like a fiction vs reality topic on the forum that allows politics, but for that to occur we need to be in the Twilight Sopabox section or else we are violating the rules here if we do bring up political discussion. We could both describe in detail why we would prefer to be loyal to Equestria than the hellscape that is our world though. Good thing magic does not exist in our world though, otherwise it would have disastrous outcomes and humans would abuse it a lot more than Ponies in Equestria would. Once humans become greedy, and humans are, it becomes a difficult cycle to break, we see the effects on biodiversity because of it. Extinction is inevitable, not a matter of if, but when, but human aggression and obsession with accumulation of wealth at the expense of others, is accelerating that process. Unless a drastic change in our collective behavior is made, I believe we're screwed. Ponies in Equestria from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic tv show are different though, their world is not anywhere near the mess the real world is, and they do share their power, despite the criticisms against their Monarchy, one thing I do respect about them highly is they don't cause war, especially since Princess Luna's reform after her Nightmare Moon fiasco with Princess Celestia, even then I would not say Luna was evil, she turned violent because of a misunderstanding, while not a justification, there is a reason why she lashed out, other Ponies did discriminate against her, it's just that from what we can tell, it wasn't all Celestia's fault. This is why friendship is important to embrace, compassion can reduce conflict like that, either between siblings or other individuals or both. Princess Celestia does not make the best decision all the time, but no Rulers ever did, however I'd much rather be loyal to her, than the corrupt individuals in real life.
  22. In the end, the problem comes down to how much awareness you really have in a dream, a non lucid dream would suggest lack of control as well as perhaps lack of awareness of being in the dream itself, if you don't know you are dreaming, the clues about computer screens, mirrors etc won't make any difference. We need cognitive ability to recognize those clues. But I do recall my dreams feeling real at the time. Nightmares are scary precisely because we feel threatened by whatever situation our dream is creating. Dreams are comparable to virtual reality, think of Neo Anderson from the Matrix, he wasn't aware he was inside a computer generated dreamworld until he was told by Morpheus, before that he was too a non lucid dreamer, living out some fantasy where he worked for a corporation within a city inside the computer generated environment, though in both VR and the real world, he retained his knowledge about hacking and programming.
  23. Once again, my brain gives me the wrong kind of dream about the supernatural. Without lucid dreaming I am screwed, my subconscious randomly generating nonsense I don't want. A nightmare it seems, of my essence being outside my mortal body, in my astral form being told if I was out of the body for too long, I'd die. Thankfully none of this can happen in reality, we do die, but it has nothing to do with magic or any other fantasy element.
  24. I like Scooby Doo, though frankly they repeat the bad guy in masks routine far too much, I get the point of it, it is to show supernatural does not exist in reality, but to heck with it, it's a cartoon about a talking dog and teenagers who go around solving mysteries they're not qualified to do, think about the surrealness of that situation for a moment. This is the reason why I liked the movies Scooby Doo on Zombie Island and the other one called Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost. For some reason the TV series 13th Ghosts of Scooby Doo didn't have nearly as much success with that, actual supernatural monsters, but it did have potential and we can clearly see some effort was made into spicing up the show for fans who wanted what if scenarios played out in a spinoff.
  25. Begin to Move - Praga Khan I love magic and fantasy, so the lyrics of this techno beat resonate with me. -
