My Little Message to "Bronies" Who Hate
Jeporauta replied to Comet Tail's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
When someone says that they hate something it is rarely true hate. When someone that someone would be better of dead, they rarely mean that from the bottom of their heart. People do not truly hate characters of tv shows unless they make themselves a target for the hate(for example by being evil). People who really hate something good badly enough to want to cause real harm have a bigger problem inside their heads. The most common form of “hate” is just opinionated strong dislike. You think it's a fallacy because you think I'm talking about this “destructive hatred”. When I'm not. It's not correct to call strong dislike hate? Well so many of us do it anyway and nothing can be done about it. I didn't say you aren't allowed to express opinions. I said that you come of that way. Just because you don't say something or don't mean it doesn't mean it can't look like you did. Expressing yourself clearly without a smaller chance of being misunderstood is a skill(something I don't put enough effort into). Misinterpretation is something that's caused by both ends. “And Gilda was only mad at Rainbow Dash after Rainbow Dash gave her speech” Exactly what I meant by saying that Rainbow Dash stopped being cool. The problem is that it was too vague for you to see that. -
Pony Facts/Confessions: Rainbow Dash

There might be a bit of confusion about what i meant with a losing streak. I'm talking about a situation where you lose a lot in a short time. The down feeling you get is from losing your "flow". It's a momentary hindrance that will go away if you let it. Low self-esteem is a much bigger issue than losing your peak performance from a losing streak. Sure it's something that can develop into something worse, or it might not.The feeling that you failed does not automatically mean that you see yourself as a loser. People with low self-esteem might see themselves as losers. There are other ways to cope with losing and failing. When i lose a competition i don't normally feel bad afterwards. There has to be consequences that i really don't want to see happening that might make me feel bad about losing. Losing the competition itself isn't enough to put me down. A long term losing streak on the other hand just tells me that something about my "game" is not right. That makes me seek out the problem and see if i can do anything about it. Back to Rainbow Dash Now that i think back Rainbow Does actually does show more of traits needing to put appearances. I was too caught up in that one episode to really think or remember some of the others. I'm still not completely convinced that the problem runs that deep. She also shows many traits that are uncommon for a person with huge self-esteem issues. She has an overall happy and energetic attitude. Athleticism and sports are really up there in helping you build up that self-confidence. Now stress really magnifies our personality. What normally doesn't seem to be much of a bother to Rainbow becomes a huge issue when under stress. That is also apparent in the daring do episode. Where the fear of being found out becomes stressful and feeds her "bad traits" -

Gilda didn't hate one pony she hated everypony. That is a big difference. She even hated Rainbow Dash after she "stopped being cool". Gilda being a bully and in general hateful "person" is not comparable to someone hating one character or two. Gilda had a rotten attitude altogether. Someone who hates Rarity just hates Rarity and isn't necessarily that mean about anything else. The hate characters like Rarity get is not this destructive hate you describe. The hate that people feel is just strong dislike. In this context Hate and Depression are so different emotions that they should not be compared the way you just did. Hate is fueled by an opinion. Depression is more or less involuntary. Hating a character is pretty much a choice and isn't malicious because you are not harming anyone by hating a character by yourself. It's different if you spread the hate. T he reason you felt so hateful and aggressive was because it felt like you were saying that we are not allowed to feel what we want to feel. Let's say that I really despise and even hate America(i don't hate America, i love that country) but i don't express my hate and i don't offend any of them because I'm respectful. Am i not allowed to hate them for doing things i really do not approve of? It makes me a bit of closed minded sure, but it doesn't make me a bad person. -
Pony Facts/Confessions: Rainbow Dash
Jeporauta replied to MatrixChicken's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Freud has been pretty much discredited for lack of actual evidence. Rainbow dash has failed more than once, but the only time she showed her fearful side was when she was extremely stressed. She didn't show low self-esteem when she failed to kick the dragon in dragonshy, nor did she really show it when she lost the race against her pets to be. What she does show is competitiveness. Competitive nature doesn't come out exclusively from low self-esteem. When I'm competitive i don't feel bad for losing. I feel bad because i know that i could have done better. If i still get that perfect performance out of myself and still lose then i don't feel the same way. But the thing is that if you lose enough you won't be able to go for your to performance. That's more because your current losing streak is putting you down than a low self-esteem deep down. -

Season 2: Your Favorite and Least Favorite Episode
Jeporauta replied to Radiance64's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Favorite is Winter Wrap up. I don't really have a good reason why i liked it so much. I watched that when i was just starting to really get into the show. The episode just left me in a really good mood afterwards. Secret of My Excess, was kind of boring. It had it's good moments, but it still kind strange. Baby cakes gets an honorable mention in this category, but doesn't win it because i liked how it ended. -

You just made me like her more. It's funny that i liked her a bit less after the end of season 2. Yet RD is usually the type of character i love most. these are some of the traits that make an interesting character: Little arrogant, self confident, knows that is good at something and isn't afraid to say it all that, but still reliable and good. I don't really believe that. It doesn't seem like thats a trait buried deep inside her. That is the only time she acts that way. If she truly was like that they would have shown more of that side of her. That was the one case where the stress got the best of her(happens to the best of us). RD was trying to do a sonic rainboon which she has only done once in her life and that was long ago. She trained hard for it, but just didn't manage do it in her training. She's supposed to do something impossibly hard. It's one of the biggest moments of her life and she isn't fully prepared for it. The crowd doesn't help either. That is an overwhelming amount of stress. RD going overboard on "Mare Do Well" doesn't seem like it's because of fear, but more likely her competitiveness(it's shown in the show on several occasions that she's very competitive). As a very competitive person i know that she's not acting up out of fear of being ridiculed or overshadowed. When you know you are good at something but you lose, you instantly want to beat them because you know/believe that you can do better. If you keep losing like that there's a small annoyance in your head that keeps building up if you lose more. The need to beat the other one gets stronger. It's not because you are afraid to show that you are worse, but it's because you believe you are better and want the victory for the sake of victory. In the end if you just can't win you must admit defeat, but at least you did you everything to not give up. You never had that feeling of healthy "rage" when you were doing bad at something and playfully though to yourself: "This is not going to do, i will destroy you"? That rush motivates you instantly to do much better. Long post so please bear with my dyslexia. -

Someone is going bit overboard about this... I hate to say it(cwutididthar????) but the one person that seems most against what the show stands for is the one who is acting so vigorously against the so called "haters". Saying things like you don't tolerate hate. I'm sorry, but that isn't really Love or Tolerance. You act pretty hatefully in this topic even though you don't seem want to admit that to yourself. -
movies/tv Does anypony watch True Blood? :3
Jeporauta replied to KinkyRice's topic in Media Discussion
People who seem to be really sensitive to sexual content and nudity say that because they can't get past the fact that show has a lot of sex scenes. But really there are much easier ways to watch porn than to wait for a week for an hour long episode about vampires. I don't really get what's with America and sex, but they seem really insecure about it. -

MLP is the one show i watch to get a happy break from violent entertainment. Also calling this show just porn is kind of unfair and completely against the same principle of open mindedness that turns people into bronies. It's funny how in Game of Thrones all the sex and nudity "fits the gritty world" and is there to make the show more authentic, but in this it's just called just porn... I really like how vampires in this show are mostly evil and just playing along with the whole "going mainstream" thing. Bill got a lot better in the 4th season, But they pretty much ruined Eric when they kept his memories of him being a puppy dog. I also hated how Jason didn't turn into a werepanther I really hope they fix that in season 5. Eric should also get some of his manliness back in that season or i might get bored of where this show is going. -
For about 100 hours. Did almost everything. Also had tons of fun being evil and sadistic. I really like vampires and it's awesome when you can play as one since the current media(Twilight, Vampire Diaries) doesn't really fit the way i would imagine a vampire. I was really annoyed at how terrible they were in this game. Dawnguard actually gives them a story and improves their abilities. I'm really looking forward to that DLC/expansion.

I wasn't too surprised at this concept. I didn't even want to look at the game, but then i heard that Tara was the VA i got interested. Then i found out that Suda51 is the mind behind this game. After knowing that nothing really surprised me. This game seems to be pretty mild compared to some of his other works. Still at first i didn't even want to look at the game and now i'm getting it for sure when it comes to PC.

The Avengers. I was kinda disappointed. This is exactly the reason why you don't let yourself get overhyped by anything. At first i didn't expect anything from the movie and would have probably enjoyed it more that way but everyone kept going about how amazing the film is. It's an ok film, but it seems that people are just impressed by it because it's not as bad as they suspected. It was good. Some of the jokes were funny. Loki and Stark were both really fun characters to watch and the others were good enough too. The action was impressive, but it got bit boring towards the end and the middle part of the movie felt dragged.

More like "typical males". It's a primitive thing, something we just do by nature. Even old men(especially old men) who have no intention of "competing" do this. There are of course exceptions.

Am I the only one who actually likes spiders?
Jeporauta replied to Evilshy's topic in General Discussion
Snakes are pretty popular, but spiders. Egh... I hate anything that is a bug or is related to bugs, Butterflies and bumblebees get a free pass from me if they know how to behave. I also hate a lot of weird and icky sea life(jellyfish I'm looking at you). -

gaming Most disappointing game you have ever played?
Jeporauta replied to SrFrog's topic in Media Discussion
Well i'll give you something nice to think about. People often react to and mention negative things more easily than positive. People who like a particular usually don't feel the need to tell that to everyone else who likes it too. But people who hate the game are much more likely to mention that the game is not good in. That's one of the reasons why you see more hate than appreciation. Oh and trust me the user base of the particular sites you mentioned are full of trolls or just genuine ignorance. You shouldn't take them seriously. You should visit more fan sites for games you like. Also if you are playing on PC Steam forums have more reasonable people than i would have expected.- 246 replies

gaming Which Nintendo game is the best?
Jeporauta replied to ~Sugar Sprinkles~'s topic in Media Discussion
Definitely Metroid Prime trilogy. Outside of that Eternal Darkness was really interesting. And as avid fans of fighting games(so excited for Fighting is Magic) Supers Smash Bros. Melee needs a mention. That game was really good as a party game, yet it had surprising depth as a fighter. -

Currently rocking an aging HTC Desire N70 My secondary 1110 Backup Usually upgrade to a new phone every 2 years or less. Desire is my 7th phone. The old desire is getting little old. Have been thinking about getting an iPhone, but then again i have so much in my google/android account that it might be getter to continue with an android device. There are more cellphones than people in my country. Having 2 phones is normal having 3 is not uncommon.
