  1. Utah boy here! And proud of it! And the answer to the obligatory question everypony from Utah gets is: Yes. I am.
  2. The Ballad of Echo the Diamond Dog. Such a wonderful fanfic. truly.
  3. let's see.... Stephen King Orson Scott Card's Ender Series Chuck Palinhiuk (writer of Fight Club) More Stephen King Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker's Guide) H.P. Lovecraft Even more Stephen King And that's my bookshelf at a glance.
  4. It disturbs me greatly that the Ender series is only mentioned twice in here. It's one of the most massive, elaborate and BRILLIANT book series ever written. Orson Scott Card is a genius. I'm also deeply saddened that only one person mentioned the Dark Tower series. Stephen King is my other favorite.
  5. Guilty pleasures, Movie edition! What is that one movie you hate to love? The one that goes against everything you love about movies but you still find it appealing. Mine is the Super Mario Brother's live action movie (it's a REALLY guilty pleasure). What's yours? EDIT: Let's just say that MLP is a given. Not all of us have gotten over the guilty pleasure stage of watching it.
  6. A guilty pleasure (as I see it) is something that you like that goes against your general taste. Something you normally wouldn't like. I have a few. The caramelldansen song is my musical guilty pleasure. What's yours?
  7. Two interesting things about this ep. 1: If Mare-Do-Well has a horn AND wings that makes her an alicorn. Aren't all alicorns royalty or at least Equestria nobility? hmmmm? 2: When I re-watched this ep, the top comments were all about how Dash's hubris was justified and how her friends were in the wrong for doing the whole Mare-Do-Well thing. Bronies are almost always all about the morals of the episodes. It appears that this isn't the case when it comes to arrogance. Does this show something about some parts of our culture? Isolated or not?
  8. I'm pretty much sick and tired of the ignorant and hateful rhetoric that comes up when people start talking about different religions. SO, I am wondering if anypony happens to have any un-biased and objective online resources where I can get some good information about The Church of Scientology. I may be making a visit to a church in my state to get some info from the source. I'll be exceedingly grateful if you can give me something. Thank you!
  9. This pegasus already has a pretty well established name. It's Snowflake. Sometimes the Bronies like to be clever and make ironic names for background ponies.
  10. I'm exceedingly surprised by the general reaction this poll has gotten. I figured more people would be more anti-shipping. I have found that most shippings help add depth to fanfics as long as they don't get too erotic. I enjoy AppleDash and PinkieDash quite a bit because it really plays off on the Rainbow's relationship with the two ponies and all of their personalities. Also it plays off on the well established "fandom fact" that Rainbow, at least, is a lesbian. One hetero ship that I really enjoyed was Twilight and the Doctor. But that might be because Doctor Whooves is my favorite background pony and Twilight is my favorite mane six.
  11. Frankly, It's just easier not to question it. The two genders have their own weird quirks. It happens. Just let it be.
  12. Saeko from High School of the Dead....and...kinda Twilight Sparkle....in human form...
  13. I do not care if this topic is finished. I have put much thought into this question and I want to put in my two bits. If you have a problem with that, file it under personal problems. Applejack: She is obviously one of the mane growers and harvesters of of the sweet apple acres orchard. Her job comes simply by the fact that she is born into the Apple family. Rarity: She is the chief designer and manufacturer at the Carousel Boutique. She appears to have large dry spells where she sells very little and makes most of her money from very large and exclusive jobs from very important clients. It is obvious she doesn't sell a whole lot to local ponyville residents. Pinkie Pie: Employee at Sugarcube Corner. It appears that part of her salary comes out of her paycheck to pay for her housing since she appears to live in an apartment on the top floor of the shop. Twilight Sparkle: Student/Chief Librarian of Ponyville. I would assume that all of her money comes from the government of Equestria since she works at a public office and is a prized pupil of the monarch herself. Rainbow Dash: Leader or Employee of the Ponyville weather team. Her money must also come from public sector money since she is providing a public service. Since it is a constant service I can't imagine that she would work on contract so the weather team must be some kind of public office. Fluttershy: This one is tough. Fluttershy appears to be self sufficient as she lives on the edge of the forest and raises chickens. It is probable that she sells eggs to sugarcube corner since she probably doesn't have too much use for the large number of eggs she must receive from the 15 some odd chickens she owns. It also appears that she cares for other people's pets. The wild animals she befriends cannot pay her in bits so her care for them more than likely cannot get her any gain unless she receives government subsidies for her work (I doubt it). So. That's what I think.
  14. By FAR my favorite episode thus far. This ep. is a giant reference to one of my favorite musical, The Music Man. The similarities between the Flim Flam brother's song and "trouble" from the play are pretty obvious. Also, it's one of my absolute favorite songs from the whole series. Everything about this episode is fantastic.
  15. Hello everypony. I'm Sean. I've been a member of the herd (meaning the herd in general, not the forum) for about three months now. I've gotten into it pretty deep already. I fancy myself a decent writer and I am currently working on a fanfic that you may see on here sometime soon.
