I think if they aren't clickable, they've left the site, or been banned. I have a friend in my inbox message list who's been banned for ages, but the message is still there and readable. His profile no longer exists though.

If you can't pull up somebody's profile, that means they've been banned. All of their content still exists though.

Sorry if that's been your experience, IJoinedForPonies, but I joined for ponies too. You're right in that there are times where I really don't like this "job" and it wears my patience then, but that's inevitable for anyone who takes a moderation or administrative position here. If we ever seem impatient, it's because people and situations here have done a lot to sap it from us. You've no idea how taxing it can be without doing it.

That said, moderators are regular members, albeit members who get more stressed at times and have less time to spare due to the workload. That doesn't mean they don't want to talk to you. If anybody ever feels like talking to a staff member, feel totally free to PM them like you would anyone else, because they are exactly like everyone else, and would no doubt enjoy hearing from you.

I just wanted to say that's bullshit, for any mod. All of the mods here want friends. There's no point in even being a staff member if somebody doesn't want to be friends with people.

They may be getting too many status updates to keep track of.

I have considered unfriending some people in the past, but have not done it because I am still able to manage the status updates.

If you are asking them, they won't get your status updates anymore. ;-)

Don't be sorry. It's better that you communicate with somebody, somewhere, anywhere rather than tell nobody and let it fester.
