HAHAHAHA, That's awesome. Of course it would never happen, but whoever thought to create the petition is a genius. A petition doesn't guarantee that something will happen. All that happens is if it reaches a certain number of signatures it will get an official response from the White House. Recently Obama had to raise that number because people were creating silly, offensive, etc. petitions for the heck of it. Personally, I think it is hilarious and will sign for the fun of it. I'm assuming this has come from the internet rumors about him wanting to change the national anthem, none of which are true. Changing the national anthem has come up many times. When I was a kid everyone said that Reagan wanted to change it to "God Bless the USA", and "Born in the USA" (which is hilarious considering the meaning of the song). I believe there were a few others as well, but I doubt any of them were true. Sometimes I think it's funny that the tune to our national anthem is British and that most people who promote themselves as patriots have no idea that there are 4 verses. It IS extremely difficult to sing. I recall learning it in choir at school to sing at homecoming. I don't envy those celebrities.

Threatening someone's life is illegal. It has nothing to do with free speech. It's like NAMBLA and the Klan. They both have a right to exist and say what they want but if they act on it they will be arrested, etc. The majority of internet forums would not allow such a post to remain. I assume even Facebook and the like would remove such posts if they were reported. Consider the picture the man posted of his 2 year old daughter bound with duct tape. When Facebook found out it was removed and I believe he was prosecuted. If there are sites that are promoting such a thing I would think they would be illegal. hawkflame said it best, and I have always loved that quote, Your freedom ends where my nose begins.

planning MLP FIM Dungeons and Dragons?

That's 4pm - 7pm Eastern 3pm - 6pm Central 2pm - 5pm Mountain 1pm - 4pm Pacific for those Americans who don't know that time format. Those are good hours for me. Since I'm not going to have internet at home for a few weeks this lets me use the store internet. Edit: Friday or Saturday, that is. -
planning MLP FIM Dungeons and Dragons?
Heart's Desire replied to twilight_sparkle's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
Can everyone please post their availability and time zone? We need to compile everything and pick a time. I am CST (GMT -6) I work from 12pm-6pm (8pm starting in March) Tuesday through Saturday. I'm a night owl so staying up late is not a problem. I work at my parent's store so it is possible to play while there, until business picks up in spring, though I may be interrupted occasionally by a customer. Whatever we decide I will try to work around. I prefer to use the chat box but if everyone wants video chat I will do that too. How about you guys? -
I have only been waiting for this, what, 9 years? I have been watching videos of the beta, reading everything I can, just to get me through to March 5th. I got a beta invite but it was to an old email and I forgot to check it for a couple days. I was all excited when I logged in to find the invite, only to see that the beta ended a few hours before. Grrrrrrr! I've never heard of 4 day beta before, but oh well. I personally don't think the always on internet is really intended for the multi-player function. They just say that to cover their butts. EA has ALWAYS been annoying with their anti-piracy tactics, messing the games up for those who actually pay in the process. I'm sure this is their attempt to keep people from pirating the game. I completely agree, though, that I like to play these kinds of games by myself and I'm really sick of social gaming.

The site we are using is Here. The link to the game is Here. You might need an invite or something to the game link, I'm not sure. If you are able to log in I recommend it. It looks really cool. -
planning MLP FIM Dungeons and Dragons?
Heart's Desire replied to twilight_sparkle's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
Ahh, Okay. I must have read that wrong somewhere. Am I correct that the way it is listed is saying that those are the cost of the spells? So if I have backstab, diguise, stealth, and escape artist that adds up to five? -

Please let me know if I am understanding this correctly. When choosing skills you have three points to use. So if the skill listing is broken up as: 1 point Skill A Skill B Skill C 2 points Skill D Skill E 3 points Skill F I can take either all of A, B, and C, OR one of ABC, and one of DE, OR just F. I'm understanding that the point the skill is listed under is how much that skill costs, is that correct? Also, is dual wielding something I have to learn at a later time, or can I start out with it? As a rogue I intend to use daggers and it doesn't specify in here. It just gives a description of what it is. -
Hmmm, okay. I have to say I was skeptical, but when I checked mine this is what I got. Stealing the idea of a previous poster, the green are accurate, the red are inaccurate, and the black I am either unsure or it's kinda neutral. Your name of Christina gives you the ability to be creative along practical lines of endeavour. Your ideas can be very original and inventive. You enjoy being with people in a social environment. Your personal appearance is important to you, for you desire to make a good impression on others. Your pleasant manner attracts people to you with their problems and you are capable of offering practical advice, though you would probably not follow such advice yourself. This name causes you to be somewhat too concerned with the personalities, problems, and activities of other people. You seem positive and decisive and can be outspoken in the expression of your opinions, but you lack the self-confidence needed to follow through with your ideas and plans. Procrastination is your downfall. You frequently choose the path of least resistance to avoid your responsibilities. It is not easy for you to overcome obstacles or face issues. This name does you an injustice in that it restricts your success in business and personal pursuits through a lack of ambition. There is a weakness in the fluid functions and in the region of the head resulting in sinus problems, headaches, eye, ear, or throat conditions and related ailments Okay, so reading that I decided to do one for my mom and got one that was spot on. Hmmm...

As far as a time to play, I currently work 12pm - 6pm Tuesday through Saturday. That's GMT -6. In March that will change to 8pm. I have no problem playing after work or on one of my days off. I do love the new site and everything seems to work fine for me. -
movies/tv Banned TV shows of your childhood
Heart's Desire replied to AnonyPoni's topic in Media Discussion
The Transformers thing isn't surprising at all. Killing off a main character in a cartoon intended for children is stupid. To this day my brother won't let that go.- 62 replies

movies/tv Banned TV shows of your childhood
Heart's Desire replied to AnonyPoni's topic in Media Discussion
Yeah, I have to say that is unfortunate because the new ones are horrible, but the first few seasons were awesome. I have to admit that, though I was able to watch whatever I wanted I would not let my kids (when I have them) watch south park and other cartoons intended for adults until I felt they were mature enough to handle it. I had to grow up fast, as they say, so by the time I went to live with my Mom she knew I wasn't going to be getting ideas from the show or acting crazy or whatever it is parents are afraid of. But when I had my 12 year old nephew asked me if St. Peter was a rabbit and then had to explain the concept of satire to him (which I don't think he got) my first thought was "he is way too young to be watching South Park."- 62 replies

I was way too young when I started drawing to know why I did it. My earliest memory was when I was 7 or so. I had just bought a new toy, a Fairy Tail (a relative of My Little Pony back in the 80s) and I just felt I had to draw her. That's the first time I remember doing an actual drawing of something, and trying to do it right. Not just kiddie scribbles. It's kinda been that way all my life. I draw because I need to. I see something and I need to draw it. I get an idea and I need to draw it. Whenever I catch myself breaking down the things I see into lines and drawing them in my head I know it's time to break out the sketch book. Unfortunately I don't seem to have any drawings on this computer to share. I'll have to get to work on that.

Heart's Desire replied to AnonyPoni's topic in Media Discussion
I don't recall my parents banning any cartoons when I was a kid. My Mom had a tendency to believe things on the news so Mortal Kombat was banned (though my brother bought it anyway), Ouiji boards were banned, and Dungeons and Dragons. She was certain that the old urban legends about DnD were true, and I think she was just afraid of the Ouiji boards. She's over all of that now, though. But I was watching South Park when it first came out, I've been watching the Simpsons since 1989, and I even remember Liquid Television. I couldn't have been more than 10 at the time. I can't imagine any parent not liking Fairly Odd Parents, I love that show. I will say that my Mom hates Anime, but that's because we used to watch Speed Racer as kids and it annoyed her. She'd never refuse to let us watch it, she'd just prefer not to be in the room.- 62 replies

That's a good point. You could sign the next one with your forum name and on another part put "MLP forums?" Or draw a pony at the computer and put MLP forums on the computer. Or you could just put the time you are usually able to get to the art classroom and see if she can meet you there. If you go for the idea of watching the next episode together you could just ask if anypony wants to join.

*after stalking the Wild Pokota for four days, one has finally stepped from the wilderness to be observed! Let's watch it and see what happens.* Seriously, though, welcome! Love your thread title.

Well you're in the right place then! Grab a daisy sandwich and settle in!

Why does karma punish me for liking pony's?
Heart's Desire replied to PinkamenaTonight's topic in Welcome Plaza
Well thank YOU for being one of the herd! Sometimes you gotta make your own magic, and whether you realize it or not you're doing just that by being here, watching the show, etc. I hope things get better for you, and I'm sure you'll have plenty of colorful pony talk here on the forums. -
Speak softly and carry a large poking stick.

Hey, that's a pretty creative name, I like the explanation. Voice Acting has always intrigued me. Of course, my shy little voice would never work for it, but it's still cool. Anyway, welcome to the forums. I look forward to more posts should your insomnia continue to make you chatty -
Hi! I've never been too great with the irl friends myself. I'm just way too shy. I've always thought that was one of the best things about the internet. Anyway, welcome to the forums, I'm sure you're going to love it here!
