I went shopping yesterday and didn't see them. I did find some Hello Kitty ones also made by Betty Crocker and as I love Hello Kitty I decided to get those instead. They are WONDERFUL fruit snacks. Great quality, great flavors, and you can actually make out what each one is supposed to be. That's what they'll need to do for the MLP ones. If they improve them to the quality of the hello kitty I will be all over them.

Whenever someone gives me a sword I automatically hold it aloft and say "by the power of Grayskull" just in case.

Best thing to come out of the 80s? Me, of course! Seriously, though, the 80s were my childhood and you have no idea how strange it is to read a thread of people wishing they lived back then. I mostly find it funny because my friends always talked about how they wished they'd lived in the 60s and my parents thought they were nuts. I guess I know how they felt now, though personally I'm flattered and happy that everyone seems to like my favorite decade. There is a Mario hat that says "made in the 80s" that I desperately want. Anyway, on with the post... This, this, this. This was my favorite game for a while. Also I have fond memories of King's Quest. My uncle was a programmer for IBM and had some really awesome computers in his house as well as many bootleg games. King's Quest was one of them and we would play it whenever we went over there. Also Combat, it was the first video game I ever beat my brother at. Revenge of the Nerds, Weird Science, and Princess Bride are some of my all time favorites. A few more things I liked; Star Wars collector glasses, Knowing being Half of the Battle, and twirling the phone cord around your finger while you sat tethered to the wall.

The ads on this site are creepy sometimes!
Heart's Desire replied to My little pwny's topic in General Discussion
More often than not I get a U.S. Cellular ad. I'm not remotely certain how that's supposed to appeal to me, or what that has to do with the part of the site I'm accessing. Honestly I've started tuning them out. They aren't particularly distracting, which is good. -
I think pillowpets count. I didn't even think about pets. I always have my dog and at least one cat with me. On more interesting nights I end up with the dog and all four cats but I have a queen size bed so there's plenty of room.

It depends on what dye you used. a natural or vegetable based dye should be fine. Most of the more non-natural colors tend to be those, as are the ones that only last a few weeks.

Well, I don't like how you come into this thread and pan all the stories with a blanket statement, accuse people of cheating and don't even put up your own entry to show us how you think it should be done. But you see, that's my problem just as yours is your problem. There are a variety of different levels in writing ability and experience displayed here and they are all a great effort. Attempting to stay true to a character that is not your own can be difficult for new writers. I do not believe anyone is cheating, and I seriously didn't see any glaring missteps which should give rise to such a damning claim. If you would like to provide constructive criticism I'm sure many would welcome it. Unfortunately that is not what you've done.

The Mlp forums Mystery gift contest!

I have three pillows so I can pick what I want at any point during the night. I've got a fluffy high pillow, a thin hard pillow, and a body pillow. I've always slept on my side, though. I can't stand sleeping on my back and ever since I was a teenager sleeping on my stomach just hasn't been an option... I've also always slept better with the windows open, at least a crack. Otherwise I can't breathe. I even crack the window in the middle of winter. The cold air feels great, and my cats rush to the window like they haven't had fresh air in months.

Love it! (I am, of course, assuming they were all non-toxic dyes.) The colors turned out very well! I have a collie and I often tease her that I'm going to dye her white parts some oddball color but I know her and somewhere in the middle of it she'd shake and get dye all over me and I'd be speckled for a while.

Exactly. I'm sure if you check out the Mars blueprints you'll find a tiny hole somewhere, there may even be some sort of a trench leading up to it. I say we start there.

I'm a little nervous now that I know they're going to be critiqued considering I jumped on an idea I had on a whim in a genre I've never used before. Ah well, I stand by my work. Always have, always will. Even the half-flanked stuff. It did have a title though, I must have forgotten to copy it. It should have been labeled Stepping in Gumshoe.

Every blind bag I got I got one or two of the main six.
Heart's Desire replied to luckyflynn's topic in Merchandise
Wow, that guy was exceptionally annoying and pretty much made his point within the first minute then repeated it for five more. It was helpful though, so thanks, hahaha. Now all I have to do is decide if I want to cheat or just treat them like fortune cookies and grab blindly. Chances are I'm going to look. -
Hair Loss after dyeing, holy crap people!
Heart's Desire replied to Hazardus_Havard.'s topic in General Discussion
Whenever doing anything to your hair you should always wait AT LEAST 24 hours between actions. So if you bleach it, wait at least 24 hours before dying. Did she do this herself? 13 is a bit young to be bleaching her own hair. That stuff is dangerous and just leaving it on too long can cause these kind of results. Heck, I'm way older than that and I always have someone else do it for me just to be sure everything is even and gets rinsed properly. I guess all that can be done now is she'll have to find a good hat, scarf, or bandanna to wear until it grows back. She'll probably be crying about it for a while. I'm sure she feels like she's gone and disfigured herself. -
Unfortunately I cannot stand stale fruit snacks or I would buy them just for the box. I even occasionally get stale ones when I buy the Spongebob fruit snacks and it always annoys me so I suppose I shall steer clear of them until I hear they've been updated... which should happen when they run out of the rest of them.

I am not arguing this further as it will only serve to derail the thread even more. If you enjoy psychology I'm sure you'll read more on it in the future. Back to the topic at hand I do have to say MLP is what I watch after too many episodes of some deep and depressing anime, or a more serious drama. It lightens the mood and makes me happy. No bad can come from that. Also, it amuses me to assign pony personality types to my pets. I certainly have a Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy among my cats.

I'm guessing you're not dealing with a psychology major there Everyone always goes directly to Freud and most of them have no idea why or what any of his work was. (or that most of it was proven wrong, for that matter.) Anyway, I just wanted to say that your original post was accurate and I was going to say something similar myself. If you want change you must do it on your own. Other things may help but you and you alone can make that change happen.

movies/tv WWE- Real or not, the controversy.
Heart's Desire replied to Finesthour's topic in Media Discussion
As my brother says, we all know it's fake. The fun is in seeing a match so good that you forget that fact. I remember when I was little I used to deny that it was fake and as I got older it kinda depressed me and I lost interest for a little while because I knew it was fake. Then I realized that like many things in life, the fun is in knowing it is but pretending it isn't. Anyone who has a problem with people who like wrestling just has a desperate desire to prove that they're too smart to be tricked. Also, as was stated previously, wrestlers do a damn good job selling moves and they really do put their bodies through hell out there. Just because it's scripted doesn't mean that they aren't taking hits and that bad things can't happen. -
gaming Parents playing video games?
Heart's Desire replied to Cherry Blossom's topic in Media Discussion
I remember when Super Mario Bros. 3 came out there was an arcade version in the entry to Toys R Us. Whenever we went my mom would stop and blow some quarters playing it. Over the years my mom has played her share of games. I remember there was a Xena game she loved on the Playstation, she was really into the Rock Band games for a while, Sims 3, Fable, and a few others. Currently she plays WoW. She's very addicted and has been for a couple of years. I love my mom, she's awesome. -
Scent(s) that bring back memories for you
Heart's Desire replied to Raspberry32's topic in General Discussion
You're not alone at all. A lot of people have this because scent is the strongest sense tied to memory. I have a few things that come to mind on this topic. The smell of orange scented cleansers will always remind me of the Dean Koontz novel Hideaway. I was reading it in freshman year of high school. I had study hall in the cafeteria and they were redoing the floors. One of the chemicals they were using had the extremely strong artificial scent of orange cleaner. I will never forget smelling that stuff while reading some of the horrendous things that were going on in that book. To this day using orange scented cleaner always gives me a creepy feeling and reminds me of that book. The smell of primrose reminds me of my mom getting ready to go out for the evening. The funny thing about that is she's been wearing honeysuckle for a while not but it's the primrose I always remember. The smell of pencils reminds me of countless nights spent with my nose to the paper of my sketchbook drawing my heart out, and the smell of cheap ink pens makes me think of writing certain stories. One of my favorites though is the smell of oranges and tangerines. (the real scent. not those nasty cleansers). Those scents always remind me of Christmas. My mom always put an orange, tangerines, nuts, and chocolate in our stockings so now whenever I peal an orange I think "oooh, Christmas." -
Blank is my middle name
Heart's Desire replied to Dice The Titanic Brony's topic in General Discussion
Bending is my middle name. My full name is Bender Bending Rodriguez. (Sorry, I couldn't resist) Geek is my middle name. I'm sure others may have other ideas, but that's what I'd like to go with. -
Umm, isn't that exactly what every action figure ever created has done? Most of them are also accurate. My Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles look like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, my Thundercats look like Thundercats, my snozzberries look like snozzberries...wait... I still have all of my G1 ponies from when I was a girl and they look like the characters from the show. They have varying mane and tail styles. Anyway, if they could do it in the 80s they can do it now.

Applejack Mountain Dew Flavor?
Heart's Desire replied to Red Hot Chili Ponies's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Well, Applejack is actually an alcoholic drink made from hard cider. Something akin to apple moonshine. The name has been adopted by many things over the years, and is even one of my favorite Dolly Parton songs. That being the case I don't think the name itself is capable of being trademarked. As long as they avoid putting a pony on the label I think all will be well.- 27 replies

It's a show up there with Star Trek, Buffy, Naruto, Doctor Who, and a variety of other shows I adore with fantastic writing, characters you really feel for, and communities you just love being a part of. It's like a bunch of geeks got together and put everything I love about Geekdom into a cartoon I hope to someday watch with my little ones. Also, I love the random moments of the day when my brother screams, "AH! Spikes a ghost!" and we both crack up.
