  1. Jailed for smiling when it was a really serious moment.
  2. @ That was it. That was my costume.
  3. At that point in time she was talking to logs. I don’t think any cunning would have been coming out of her any time soon.
  4. Considering how Starlight Glimmer handled her even in her powered up form, I think it's safe to say she was effectively harmless.
  5. I just noticed a thematic problem the episode has that I didn't notice before. In Twilight's speech, she says "There will always be darkness in the world", which is true, but the events in the episode don't really support her claim. The only reason the problem occurred in the first place was because of Discord, they already had all the darkness sealed, and then at the end of the episode they just seal it up again. It's a kinda of a minor nitpick, but I found that theme really didn't come across. The other thing from the speech is Twilight saying " Others who will continue our mission after we are gone!". Even though Twilight is apparently immortal, she's referring to her own mortality. By itself I like the speech, but parts of it are kinda odd in context.
  6. I liked this episode much more the second time I watched it. One thing I noticed the second time that I didn't notice the first time is WHY her coronation was a disaster - it was directly due to Twilight teleporting her friends with her on the train due to her missing it due to crying with her friends before. I think that's really powerful, because it unambiguously sends the message that it was more important for Twilight to have that moment with her friends than for her coronation to go well. Here we get to see the consequences of the choice and the interpretation of those consequences, which is really what makes the choice meaningful, and reveals the values underlying the choice. I also really like the song at the end, Twilight has such a beautiful voice. Overall, it's exactly what I expected from the final episode of the show, and they pulled it off well. One thing though that still remains an issue is that nobody ever asked Twilight if she wanted any of this, Celestia just shoveled the responsibility on her and the only question posed was if she was ready for it, implicitly assuming that it is something she will eventually do. I don't think Faust would have let that pass if she was still on the show because the lack of consent in the whole process just goes against her philosophy, and she enforced avoiding much more minor problematic content like ensuring the ponies in Ticket Master didn't apologize for wanting to go, but rather for harassing Twilight. For this reason, even though I find it a beautiful ending for the show, I don't really see it as Twilight's canonical fate. (Note that the term canon can also refer to works in a collection written by the original author, which differs from how it's used to refer officially in-universe material, and that's the angle I prefer because it keeps a single creative vision in-tact.)
  7. I mean I don't actually care for it, it's my uncle's head canon, but I think it's fun idea.
  8. Maybe he lost some of that when traveling into Equestria - or maybe, Discord IS omnipotent and omniscient, but he's just been playing the long game to convince us otherwise!
  9. That reminds, my uncle's headcanon is that Discord is literally Q, just popping into Equestria.
  10. I don't think she will die, or if she does, it doesn't actually make a difference. Discord can apparently bring back the dead, as he did with Sombra. My headcanon though is that once she's old enough he will just transform her into a draconequus. Then they can live together for ever. They will also have draconequus children, which will eventually lead to the demise of Equestria because they are also immortal, putting strain on the resources and eventually driving ponies to extinction through starvation.
  11. Yes. I find the idea of eternal oblivion to be utterly nonsensical. The opposing side posits his consciousness could exist without a brain, but we don’t even really understand how conscious WITH a brain. That being said, I’m not making any claims to the nature of the afterlife. Unfortunately, different conceptions of the afterlife have wildly different implications for ethics, and there really isn’t anyway to rationally resolve it.
  12. Heacanon accepted. This is also why Starlight and Sunburst are not actually a couple, too much ick from their parents.
