Isn't this theoretically a show for little girls? As much as I enjoyed the fight sequence in A Canterlot Wedding, I'd prefer minimal violence in this show as it's supposed to be about friendship, and it's supposed to be for relatively young people.

I want all the ponies to stay single for the entire show. That would be odd. You know, keeping the focus on friendship instead of ditching that for romance at some point. Another thing that would be odd is if Pinkie Pie decides to clone herself so she can be everywhere at once--oh wait that already happened! That was a weird and very cute episode.

While I would never think that Rarity is obligated to return Spike's affections, I do think she sometimes takes advantage of his love for her--getting him to take out her garbage if I recall, or guilting him into giving her a gem she really liked, I know she cares about him a lot as a friend, but I'm uncomfortable with her getting stuff out of him because of his feelings for her. If someone has a crush on me and I don't return the feelings, I tend to avoid the person just because I hate having so much power over someone else's feelings. I'm glad Spike is getting some chances to shine besides in Dragonquest or whatever it was called--I couldn't stand that episode!

Wow, I've been here like three weeks and I'm already frustrated with the AJ popularity threads. Anyway, I don't quite see it. RD is super popular and as far as I can recall, she only has one song, shared with Fluttershy. Pinkie Pie sings a lot, but isn't as popular as RD or Fluttershy from what I can recall, at least on these forums. Rarity has had some solo singing parts, but she is the least popular on this forum. Edit: Sorry, it looks like DashForever said everything I did, but better! Shoulda read it first!

This topic makes me sad. Nopony should ever replace any of the Mane 6. Applebloom has her own group, the CMC, and they learn their friendship lessons separate from the Mane 6.

I think people choose their favourite ponies based on who they most identify with. Our culture doesn't value hard work, integrity, dependable-ness or honesty as much as it used to. AJ seems pretty old fashioned at times. I think sometimes people don't like her accent either. I liked her straight off the bat and for a while I thought she actually stole every scene she's in. She can be quite funny and cute. When she's not, at least she's usually caring and reasonable. I think she was almost 2nd most important pony for the first few episodes. She has really been neglected lately and doesn't get much development. I still think she is awesome though and holds the group together. As for her not representing her element, bullshit. No less than anypony else, especially RD and Rarity.

I totally didn't suspect anyone on the train except Pinkie Pie. I was so shocked and disappointed with the three! (Sorry, I just started the series recently and just saw this episode now).

I don't hate anyone on the show. I dislike Snips and Snails, and Gilda, and the Flim Flam brothers, and Diamond Tiara and Angel. Rainbow Dash can be incredibly egotistical. Celestia and Trixie don't do much for me. But hate implies, to me, wishing someone was dead and I would never wish that on anyone on this show.

For a show about friendship, some of the friendships seem a bit superficial or not very close. In fact, most of them do. I feel like many of the characters hide their feelings or vulnerabilities from each other.

I like this topic so I thought I'd bump it!| I think Twilight's best friends (besides Spike) are Applejack--since they both kind of ground the crazier ponies--and Rarity. I can't really visualize her interactions with the others. I think she has some good moments with RD but gets annoyed with her, too. Fluttershy is closest with Rarity and Rainbow Dash, although I don't think the latter friendship is especially healthy. Pinkie... seems to spend time with Rarity and Fluttershy. She also has a fairly strong relationship with RD, albeit I think she likes RD more than RD likes her. But I think Pinkie just likes everyone. I don't think most ponies see her depth though. I read somewhere that someone on the forum said AJ does not like Pinkie... can anyone think of an example why? AJ is close with Twilight, Rarity (lately), and RD. I don't recall her interacting as much with the others. RD is closest with AJ--she was so determined to get AJ back in "The Last Roundup." She's also protective (but bullying) of Fluttershy, and Pinkie to a lesser extent. Rarity is closest with Twilight and Fluttershy, but I think she acts like a protective big sister to both at times. Also AJ lately.

I voted for "Winter Wrap Up" at first, but I'm a newb to the show and I just watched "A Friend in Deed" a few days ago. I had to change my vote to "Smile Smile Smile." That song is just... incredible. I wish I could write songs like that.

I kind of hope that they don't get into romantic relationships. Well I guess Rarity can. I'd rather enjoy some non-romantic fun when watching cartoons!

Rainbow Dash and Rarity don't do much for me as main characters, mostly because I find them more selfish than the others. And Spike hasn't done much yet; but I'm only halfway through Season 1.
