Will Sweetie Belle grow up to be like her sister?

Sweetie hasn't shown a lot of natural ability in fashion, but she's shown many personality similarities to Rarity throughout the show, such as how she can be a drama queen at times. It's pretty obvious she idolizes her big sister.

I find her different to her sister. I really can't picture her with a British accent like Rarity, and taking care of several famous clients etc.

Sweetie Belle definitely has the elements of her sister within her: drama queen who overreacts easily, artistically minded, inherently a good girl. It would probably be the case where, even if she doesn't follow her sister's career path because cutie mark and all, she'll sort of be like Rarity light. Only major difference in their personalities is that Sweets doesn't give two shits about prim and proper things like Rarity does, as far as we can tell.

 

Interesting thing I just realized: Rarity is actually a good singer, it's just not her job. Could be the same case for Sweetie, where she's fashion minded without making a job of it. A reversal of roles between the two sisters, which would be fitting.

Sweetie Belle and Rarity have their similarities but are completely different in my opinion
It looks like Rarity was born with her British accent, but for sweetie belle to just grab an accent out of the ordinary one day doesn't really make sense to me.
they both have a thing for creativity I can tell you that But I don't think sweetie belle will get too deep into fashion like her sister.

She will certainly act like her sister, with both of them having tendencies to overreact to situations, and to try to take control of a situation. But were as Rarity has a obsession with the higher class and larger cities, Sweetie seems content (at least at the time being) with her small town life and parents. They both act very similarly, and look very similar, but Sweetie does not seem as obsessed with the higher class and as fashion minded as Rarity.

Also id love to see Sweetie Belle grow up to become her own unique character,not a copy of a existing one. To me that would imply the original existing character wasn't good enough to carry the message that they represent through to the audience on their own,and in Rarity's case,that would be a bold face lie.

And Sweetie certainly shows some similarities to rarity, but the show has made a pretty decent case in showing how every time she tries to be rarity it fails. And with her love of show tunes, it would be easier to picture Sweetie as a club singer from the days of prohibition. It would fit with the depression era archetypes her family seems to be originally based off.

So from what the OP was saying, it seems like they are talking about talent among other things.  Personality wise, they share a lot in common, but I think Sweetie Belle growing up to try and imitate her sister's entire lifestyle, talent, and accent wouldn't happen.  The message with Sweetie Belle in all the crusading episodes has always been that she needs to stop trying to imitate her sister and find her own way in life, so I think besides the personality similarities, they'll end up being very different when she's' an adult.

Sweetie Belle is definitely her own pony. She looks up to her sister quite a bit, and may want to emulate her from time to time (such as her disastrous attempts at making clothes and dresses) but ultimately she'll find her own way, which will probably diverge from Rarity sooner rather than later. She certainly shares Rarity's gift for melodrama, but that's pretty much where the similarities end. And, I definitely do not see her taking on Rarity's Mid-Atlantic (not British) accent.

No, at least not entirely. Yes Sweetie Belle does have some things in common with Rarity, she does have an aptitude for fashion though it is not on her sisters level and she dosen't have nearly as much of an interest in it. She does a strong creative side but it is hinting more at a singing ability than anything else. Sweetie Belles interest are very different from Rarity's, there have been several examples in the show of them butting heads on this. Rarity can be somewhat of a diva while Sweetie Belle is not afraid of getting dirty and dosen't seem to over react and go into drama queen mode like Rarity does. If anything Sweetie Belle probably has the least in common with her mane 6 counterpart, it seems like Scootaloo is more likely to be a de facto Rainbow Dash Jr than Sweetie Belle is to being a Rarity Jr.

I don't think she's going to go through the same path as Rarity did and she's not going to grow up to be like her big sister.

 

It's obvious that there is a much more greater journey for her to go through that involves her singing so she's not going to be too similar to Rarity in that sense.

Something I like about Sweetie Belle is that she's nowhere near similar to Rarity. She's more mischievous, childish, softer, and is overall significantly less talented in the arts that Rarity takes interest in.

Sweetie Belle at least has an interest in fashion, but not at Rarity's level since it is her profession/hobby. She has a mischievous, childish, and very playful side to her personality. I think she will grow up to be entirely different from Rarity, to show where she stands.

Honestly, I can see her becoming quite the singer when she grows up. Heck, if she wanted she could become quite the soloist in terms of opera, but she probably wants to be more of a pop star.
