arsln100 6 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Okay, my two cents: We need to compromise. For our part: Pony content need to be tagged [PONY] on all sites excluding specially designed sites like this one. Pony content outside aforementioned sites should be only in pony threads and not outside said threads. For their part: They should not "hate" on aforementioned clearly marked pony threads and videos. Mirad 217 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Yeah, the end is definitely true (not sarcastically). I was on another forum yesterday, and I brought up a conversaton about ponies. Well, someone came in and asked why we like them. Told em' about it, the show, bronydom the whole 9 yards. well, then he said he doesnt really like them. the other guy just wanted to make fun of him, but he was muted for thr time being while I talked to the guy. Turns out he has the exact same story, except our forum is in their too. We had an entire Pony thread fo people to Discuss My Little Pony in there, courtisy of me. Besides that, he told us about the fandom and how ponies are everywhere and such. and normally, whenever he goes somewhere online, there is one pony reference. I was going tomake a thread like his, but in an interview form. permission? Since the very begining that there was a fight between haters and bronies. Why? because we hate each other, threaten each other, insult, each other. It is pretty much like religion. Like the ones who belive in God, fight those who don't. Not the same Beliefs? No friendship. At all. I think they take us as a disease because they think all of us clop to ponies, which is wrong. They hate us because they think we are the minority. The weak ones. Actually, if 9Gag never existed, there would be no haters. Not at all. Simply because the very first hater told everyone in 9Gag that there was a disease spreading through the internet, called Broy Cancer. And then, they all started to make things against us. I think that is all, for now. Actually, if you recall, bronydom flame wars began on 4chan, with our first brony. he then made more bronies and gathered more haters, making it a giant flame war. eventually everypony was banned off of 4chan for "mindless pony posts that contained no content". Nobody should use it, it's completely unfair. supports non-bronydom. use Ponychan. "I swear I didn't know!" -Myself
Dusty Soul 2,611 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 Bronies are disliked because people just start to assume stuff. I could say it's because of the darker side of the community, but I don't think that would be fair. We don't fit into the social norm so we are called gender confused freaks. DorianTail 4 August 21, 2012 Share August 21, 2012 For our part: Pony content need to be tagged [PONY] on all sites excluding specially designed sites like this one I see your point and surely have good intentions, but i suppose it's just impossible. Internet is chaos, Draconequus domain.. I do not think we can simply tag it. However I don't think is right. Is how to forbid public access .. we are like so many other people with the same right to make references. With this I'm not saying to turn the Internet into Equestria, but if no rule forbids me, I will act as I would act for other topics. longgone 873 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 Alright, I bet you vets of the forums have been to many-a-thread like this. Anywho, let me begin. So, I was at school, and some guy was watching a video on youtube by PewdiePie. He then said "brohoof" which got my attention. He basically said next "I have a brony friend, but I don't like him that much 'cause I hate bronies" And his two girl friends (friends who are girls, not gf) said "Bronies are scary." I felt like doing a face palm or something. This is where it comes to my topic of the post. Why are bronies disliked by society so much? I believe it's simply because they don't know how awesome the show it. But what are YOUR opinions?
Dusty Soul 2,611 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 I have seen many posts about this... Society, doesn't like it when people fall out of the social-norm. Were basically considered Deviants in societies eyes, and that makes us susceptible to being disliked. 12 Soundcloud-------------------Facebook---------------------------Youtube
Pix3M 607 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 Why do threads like these exist? Ponies. Men. How can people not see the connection? Unless you're living under a rock, you should know very well that if you don't see many people do this, it's probably because it's against the norm. CapnKrunk 307 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 The normal way how people think the world goes around:Boy only like what is made for boys, girls like what is made for girls. Bronies make that not true.People see bronies as fat, good for nothing fags(Which is totally not true, and is more of a stereotype) I guess everyone has opinions. Me, and the other bronies at my school don't get picked on a lot.Because most of bronies at my school look more of the people you don't want to pick on People say that crap because they dont know the real truth of the brony community.I know we all were like that until we saw the real thing. 2 (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ ✧゚・: *ヽ(◕ヮ◕ヽ)
Titan Rising 2,156 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 Hmm yeah I am inclined to agree with them. Bronies are weird, they are inherently weird simply for the fact of labeling themselves as bronies to begin with :/
NewCalamity 3,454 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Prince Aura 1 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 It's simply because society wants to make us normal and fit in with everyone else. Actually, MLP attracts more of a adult stallion audience, than it does a young filly audience. Therefore, people hate on Bronies because they're different. In reality, Bronies are just stallions who find something to connect with, in this case, it's My Little Pony. Eeyup. "Romance is like the sun. BaBaBrony 111 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 The thing that I've noticed is that nobody seems to bat an eye when a young girl is into things that are demographically aimed at boys. Sports come to mind immediately, as do cars and boys' cartoons. But if a boy likes things that are demographically aimed at girls, he needs to be "re-educated" pronto!
Flying Whales 311 September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 I don't think there is one reason. I'd say there are a number of reasons. Firstly, I think some people just like to troll and stir people up. Second, I think what people don't understand scares them, and that is natural. In my opinion the fact that guys our age like a show like My Little Pony threatens the masulinity of other males and makes us look too feminin to females. Plus, it seems whenever Bronies get any sort of publicity like by a news report for example it seems we are portrayed as peculiar and we are often made fun of on such reports. ~I also want to note that I am speaking generally, not absolutely. Black Cloud 73 September 15, 2012 Share September 15, 2012 The reason society hates on bronies is because they are confused. They hear about us watching a show that was always made out to be a girlish tv series (like the g2 and g3 series). Then they hear that we are basically obsessed with the show and they can not comprehend that. It so confusing to them that they just put us off as freaks and hate on us, until they actually watch the show, but they may still hate it then too. Autumn Skies 49 September 15, 2012 Share September 15, 2012 Basically what Staccato said. People are afraid or disapprove of anybody different and usually turn their back on them. I think it's rather shallow minded and downright idiotic. Yeah, you don't have to like the show, but looking down on somebody just because they like a show that a certain gender doesn't normally watch is stupid and ignorant. People who find bronies weird, stupid, or "autistic fag children", are close minded and feel the need to bash on them for liking something "different". People like them are scum in my book. They think we are society's biggest problem, but I think they are instead.
HungryTroll 137 September 15, 2012 Share September 15, 2012 (edited) People (Not all of couse) dislike everyone who different. That why there such things as racism, sexism, disputes betwine cyclists and rollers etc. And they most of all dislike ones who hardest to understand. Most of normal people can imagine themselves on place of for example TV lovers or gamers because they have their own favourite game or TV-series, they can anticipate "Star Wars" fan's obssesion, but like "Star Wars" itself, however it's imposible for them to like MLP since they dont want to give it a chance, I even think society even fears FiM, inasmuch it can make them, a "brony", "someone who cant be be understanded" in other words, may be even stereotypes are just defensive reaction of society, to be lesser similar with bronies ("They are completely different! I'm normal and they fat fags, I'm not like them"). May be it's cognitive dissonance. P.S. I have to think more about it I wanted to write just one line, but my thoughts began to flow and I couldnt stop Edited September 15, 2012 by HungryTroll
IHazTommyWiseau 84 September 15, 2012 Share September 15, 2012 Hmm yeah I am inclined to agree with them. Bronies are weird, they are inherently weird simply for the fact of labeling themselves as bronies to begin with :/ So is your problem with just the label Brony or is it more of an issue with the people in this fanbase? If you mean weird in a bad way maybe I should remind you that weird people can actually be quite fun individuals regardless of the labels one may be given.
