I loved adventure time. I loved how lovely and innocent it was. But now... I'm just not sure anymore. They seem to drop a bomb shell and then not mention it next episode.

 

So he loses his arm. Big deal right? Well no one really cares in the next episode! I mean, they do bring it up after a little while, and then... 

He gets his arm back!! Because he fell in love with a... Humanoid bee thing?... Errm... Okay? Love is blind I guess. 

And I just know the next episode is going to be about Finn now enjoying his new arm and loving Breezy right!?

...Or we could get this... 

...Whatever this is... 

So, I'm just saying that they really need to pick one idea and stick to it. I'm just getting really pissed cause they keep doing this.  :okiedokielokie:

Also, I just wanna put out there that Lumpy space princess raped Finn and we're just not going to say anything about it?!?

I've been done with it for a few years now. It was fine in the beginning, but with the fan servicing it's been doing for a while made me lose interest in Adventure Time.

That entire episode with Breezy was basically about Finn getting wood.

 

And that episode you're talking about with the caterpillar, "Food Chain", was animated by Japanese guest animator Masaaki Yuasa, and that's why it didn't fit in.

 

Adventure Time has always been weird. They'll go back to covering the story soon enough.

I honestly see almost nothing radically different about any of what you just described. But then, I haven't seen the full episodes, as I'm only up to half-way through season 5.

I actually just started watching Adventure Time, and I'm loving it! I've seen about the first 30 episodes, and a bunch of random newer ones such as the Ice King's backstory, and Lemon Hope saving his people.

 

I actually saw the bee episode the other day. It was the one where the bee kept looking at Finn's hand while Finn was going around trying to kiss random princesses. It was pretty strange, but then again the whole show is weird so I wasn't too surprised.

I was done before I even started I never liked the show. Kind of just felt...dumb to me, but not I a way that was humorous, like Old Spongebob

The first couple of episodes were okay, but the I started to catch up with the new episodes, I found that the show was getting a little... Like you said: "weird".

I actually really like the direction the show has taken.

I like the world building, the character development, and the even weirder episodes I sometimes wonder how they manage to get away with certain things, and I'm glad that they do.  It's a bizzare mixture of surreal humour, epic world building, and deeper narratives, and I love it.

Yeah, some episodes do tend to get a little 'weird'...

 

But I still love Adventure Time. And I like how it's getting a little bit darker(?) now.. I would be pretty heartbroken if they cancel the show or not explain things, like the mushroom war, Ice King, the Lich, Finn's Dad/parents, Lemon Hope, etc, etc.

 

 

Bit disappointed how Finn didn't get a robot arm though, like the other Finn's. :c  And the fact that his arm came back too soon.

I was done way before I even finished the first season. My friend like 2 years ago showed it to me. It was pretty decent. I don't follow the massive fanbase behind it. Same could be said about MLP. But with MLP the characters are simply more interesting to me and the world has a better lore. Adventure Time used to be stupid humor and that was it. Now it wants to be become edgy and something for hipster teenagers to watch. Fine if others like it, but I was off the show loooong before the fans started to dislike it.

The only reason I ever watched it was for the flash back/post apocalyptic world episodes like I remember you. If the show didn't have a magical world ending nuclear occult war as its back story, I wouldn't care in the slightest for the show.

 

And I heard they would make a spin off with Simon and Marcline during the fallout esk post apocalyptic. When is this going to happen?

I watched an episode or two a couple years ago, now I just avoid it.

 

Only show I watch on Cartoon Network now days is Regular Show, and I haven't even been keeping up with it for some time now.

 

I miss classic Cartoon Network.

So I just caught up with the series finally. Got to say, wasn't impressed with Escape from the Citidel, and Breezy was ok I guess, but omg Food Chain might be my favorite episode.

 

By the way, Food Chain was Written and Animated by a guest director, much like A Glitch is a Glitch before it. So that explains a lot.

I don't do stupid humor. I watched about 20 or so episodes early on, and just threw up my hands at it. I am sure it gets more "serious" as the episodes go on, but any cartoon that relies on stupid humor to carry itself is not worth my time. It's a Spongebob clone at that point...hence why I dislike really any popular cartoons post Spongebob.
