Non-Pony-Identity Day: Tell about yours

This is just a casual thread I made so that anyone can tell about their non-pony identity, and why they chose to use what they did.  Sorry for posting this a couple hours early (as it's meant for the 28th, and for me there's still 2 hours left of the 27th), but hey, the early bird gets the worm, right?

Why did you choose what you did for your non-pony ID, and same goes for your default pic?

I chose "Ford Country Boy" as my non-pony ID.  I live in a small town in central IL, population of about 2500.  One could say this place is a little bit 'hick' (in a good way).  I love the country life.  Recently (at the end of May) I just finished my freshman year of college.  My college is in Springfield, IL, which is about and hour and a half away from my small hometown.  Getting used to the college life was nothing compared to getting used to a more big city kind of life.  I got homesick alot.  So, that explains the country part of my username.  As for the Ford part and my default pic, well, of course, I drive a Ford [pickup] truck; it's a 2001 F-150.  I'm pretty much a Ford guy, but I don't hate on other makes (brands) of vehicles like some others do.  In fact, my parents have an '89 Chevy Camaro that we take to car shows in the summer.  But, mostly, I'm a Ford [truck] guy.  So, I thought it appropriate to change my username and default pic accordingly.

My life is kinda like yours, living in the country, driving a while to get to college, Both being CS majors, will both own a Ford F-150.

TBH though vehicles aren't really my thing, I'm more of a... please just work kind of nerd when it comes to vehicles.

 

Computers on the other hand... oh boy... I can't explain enough! have your typical desktop, laptop, and a server or 2.

I'm wanting to work in a remote area, I love it in "the middle of nowhere." Also a really really big linux fanatic... So much so that I'm actually not afraid of buying a Mac anymore just because they're *nixes unlike most Windows computers.

 

oh yes, and it's very not obvious that I like ponies, I have no pony apparel whatsoever.

I always have a non-pony identity these days, but I'll speak of my current one(s) as they are sort of obscure.

 

My current avatar is KOS-MOS, an android from a JRPG I'm playing called Xenosaga. I find her appearance to be sleek and attractive, and have been fascinated by the idea of mechanical people lately. Also, her personality's pretty funny. It's fun to act like such a ruthlessly efficient machine that thinks of things in terms of numbers and programs and doesn't quite understand society or human behavior or how to react to it. I can relate to that in a sense.

 

Before her, my avatar was Elly Van Houten, a character from Xenogears who is my absolute favorite and who I identify with heavily due to her love and strange relationship with Fei, which reminds me of my relationship with my partner.
