I play guitar too. I'm not much of a shredder, to be honest I can't play any decent solo (perhaps because I'm too lazy to sit down and learn something properly, lol). At the moment I'm trying to learn this:  It's not too difficult, I'm probably gonna nail it in a couple of days.

Hnng I fucking love Buckethead.

 

He does everything from blues to prog. metal to ambient to electronic rock and just HNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

 

That song is also one of my fav. albums by him because it has some electronics thrown in there here and there in a way that just complements his guitar of which he shreds like a god.

I can't shred either. Speed picking is some hard shit to learn. And I've tried doing "Kerry King style" solos and they sound really dumb lol.

Seriously I mean his earlier solos were great noise sounding stuff but on recent stuff they've been ass. Revenge does it way better.

i like his early stuff too, but I've always preffered Jeff's solos. Kerry tends to use A LOT of tremolo, Jeff's solos are a bit more melodic.

I absolutely love it. In fact I'm listening to it right now. It was the first album of MH i listened to, and it totally sold that band to me. And Locust would make a great theme song for Queen Chrysalis

Yeah Kylesa are good, though I agree that Boris are better, Amplifier Worship was an album I enjoyed quite a bit.

Joking aside, there has been a lot of similar content lately.  It happens, but we all seem to have pretty preset grooves we all fall back on.

Supercolider was awful, I found it really boring. I like Megadeth's older stuff but I personally hate Dave. He has said some of the stupidest things before, it's not even funny. FFS, he compared cats to homosexuals.

Tonight is a Naysayer kind of night.

 

 

Dude's vocal style isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but the tone and tempo is just the way I like it.

I think I listened to these guys before I ever touched anything by Metallica. Or was it around the same time? I can't remember.

How old was I? 12 (around '09). I first discovered The Human Abstract by a silly post that Bulb had made saying how their new album Midheaven was really good. From there, I dabbled in some progressive and nu-metal-ly things, and then came here late summer of last year.

 

I'm so metal it hurts.

 

The new Dahlia is fucking sick. Upon first listen, I think I like it already more than anything I've heard from them. It's like a fucking dark, dark nightmare.

Crispy, I'm 15. My birthday is on the 27th of March. I've been a Celtic Frost fan ever since I was in 8th grade. Besides Celtic Frost, here's another band that got me into metal.

I discovered Venom and Bathory a month or two later. But yea, I got into metal with first wave black metal ._.

Sorry, I can't stand Midheaven.

Never said I could either. In like, 6th grade it was the coolest thing I'd ever heard, then I heard their debut and never looked back. From there, I went on to listen to bands such as My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, Circle Takes the Square (still an awesome band), and Sleeping With Sirens in what I thought was cool at the time.

 

You don't understand how glad I am I'm past that stage.

 

This band needs more love.
