Nah I admit, black metal is a hugely stereotyped genre. A lot of the lyrics can fall into some simple categories: depression/suicide, racism, war, atheism/satanism/Norse Gods, forests/winter. Odds are that if they aren't in that category than they are disgusting vntve scvm that aren't worth your time anyway.

I don't get too technical when it comes to black metal, I tend to just enjoy it for what it is. I always tend to lean towards viking/black metal hybrids when I do decide I like a band.

If it has a folky touch, I tend to lean towards really liking it. I quite like Windir, and there's so many bands I tend to completely forget about. Skeletonwitch is one of those bands, and I have no idea how they fell off of my heavy metal radar.

I like Skeletonwitch. They're supossed to be black metal mixed with thrash metal, but to me they sound more like black metal mixed with melodeath.

Eh maybe. I've never heard of the former but I like that album from In the Woods. Like it was the first black metal album I ever really liked, since I found this one song from it two years ago or something.
