Welp, here's some more of the less hardcore stuff. Bullet for my Valentine. Borderline metal, I guess. Enjoy.

So I decided to check out Testament's Dark Roots of Earth...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tviFVdFKMDw

It's heavy. It's good, but it doesn't have speed - something Testament was good at doing, but aren't doing for some reason.

Ballsy - haven't seen anyone describe metal like that here yet.

We all have our problems. TBAT likes TesseracT,

 Like listening to Tesseract was a problem in the first place!

I've been in a mood for ballad-esque Thrash songs... fuck.

Which means one thing! I'm irritated at myself again! Yay! :D

TBAT likes TesseracT,

Made my day. :D

So is Born of Osiris good? I've been trying to look into these newer, technical bands. Well, besides that cluster of djent I always go to.

Only acceptable version of this stupid song.

This is the best song off of Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing. Come at me, NEIGHsayers.

Given what the rest of the songs are on that album, I'd agree. S.Y.L. and the Exciter cover are close seconds though.

That last bit, from 4:46 onwards, is amazing.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Why'd you remind me of this tour again?! MW is coming on November 1st, and since it's on a school night I can't go! Worst part? Fucking VEKTOR is touring with them November 1st! I'm seriously considering going behind the parents back for this...

Wisconsin to Illinois? Must definitely be worth the trip then. Hell, I can't wait to hear those banshee screams from Disanto!

It's not the furthest I've traveled for a show. That record is held by Terror, Madball, Have Heart and... two other bands that I can't remember off-hand. Went to Buffalo, NY for that one.

Still kinda hoping their would be some albums to purchase at the venue though. Still need to pick up Outer Isolation...

Everyone says VOM and After the Burial are like, the greatest "deathcore" bands ever.

You CAN'T leave out The Contortionist and The Red Chord. TRC were the guys that practically invented the genre, and they have a lot of unique grind elements.

Forgive me for posting twice in a row, but JUST LEAVE ME ALONE WHY DON'T YA??!! Anyway, I HAVE to see this movie just for this one scene.

Hold on now. You are missing the original and one of the best. Have them in order.

Earth Crisis doesn't sound like current deathcore, but they were the band the term was coined for.

am a pretty big fan of nu-metal and groove metal. But I like groove metal better and I would have to say this is my favorite groove metal band.

Nu Metal? I'd recommend the album LD 50 by Mudvayne. The bass on that is wicked. Also, early Deftones. But that might be my fanboy talking.

Never thought girls could scream.. I stand corrected.

Yes, I know IWABO screams, but I'm talking about nice low screaming

What...

[3:17:49 PM] Djent Doggy Dogg: ambidjent?

[3:18:02 PM] ToBeATree: Chimp Spanner, US, TesseracT, etc.

[3:18:09 PM] Djent Doggy Dogg: Dayum, that's a subgenre within a subgenre

[3:18:17 PM] Djent Doggy Dogg: TesseracT lol

That's all ya need to know.

Listen to this! Chuck Schuldiner is actually singing in a clean voice! I can see traces of Control Denied in this recording. Though I think he was in the middle of recording Control's debut album, and getting ready to end Death.
