I think we can both agree that both bands have pretty awful lyrics though, right?

Oh dear god yes. WtR is like Five Finger Death Punch if - instead of being overly tough and insanely American - they were neckbeards.

Deathcore is really hit or miss for me. So far the best I've heard is Within the Ruins, Rings of Saturn was also pretty good but I prefer WtR. Other than that, I don't have much to say about it, other than that I prefer metalcore and grindcore. But that's just my two cents.

My favorite deathcore band for a long time was The Red Chord, after hearing PsyOpus humorously cover a song of theirs in a hidden track on "Our Puzzling Encounters Considered."

(this isn't the song they covered, because there's no HD uploads of it)

Now I'd have to say it's Veil of Maya. They do the technical thing way better than WtR (who I forgot to mention in the list of good tech-deathcore bands a few posts ago:

You know deep down that the only good technical deathcore band is Within the Ruins.

Yeah, add VoM to that too.

"[id]" may be my favorite deathcore album.

Veil of Maya? Why does that name ring a bell? Oh yea, I know why.

But anyways, the VoM song you posted was decent. The guitars were okay but the vocals were above average. Although, it's no where near as jazzy as Cynic. (That last part was just for giggles but I kind of was expecting something jazzy from a band named after a Cynic song.)

Don't hold a band like VoM up to the status of prog gods. You won't get what you're looking for.

These two early Baroness EPs are some of their best material. "First" and "Second" are a little more aggressive than their later output, and I like That. Two great sludge releases.

You're right that was foolish of me ;-; Hey while we're on this topic, do you know of any good jazzy death metal bands. Stuff like Atheist, Cynic, Pestilence, later Death, etc.

So much alternative and progressive stuff today :/

Not sure why, but listened to this album 3 times today

Also, Isis and plenty of Baroness

I always thought that the singers of Isis and Baroness sounded almost identical

More new Misery Signals dropping.

But... but... what about

I've seen them live and trust me, they can go their full recording speed.

Have I posted this before? Guess it doesn't matter, I'm posting it again because I love this song. Always gets my blood pumping and I gotta listen to it multiple times!

This song is even better since I'm playing Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth right now.

I haven't posted Skeletonwitch in a long while.

Gotta love this guy's vocals and the guitar that perfectly supports it. I may be somewhat of a fanboy over this band.

That's not a long time.  Wait 'till it drops off for a week for one reason or another.  It's happened before.  All you did was wake it up from a nap.

Haven't listened to Priest in a while, but I'm posting Bolt Thrower.

Twelve hours is basically a week in Internet time

And now here's one of the most ridiculous metal songs of all time.

Yea so I listened to Lifelover's debut album and I really liked it. So I decided to download and listen to another album that's similar to it. So I found this.

MY DIGITAL DOWNLOAD OF ABSENT LIGHT CAME EEEEEEEEE

I haven't fanboy'd this hard in forever, I think I listened to it straight through at least 8 times at work last night.  So fucking good.  Even the intro gives me the goosebumps.

If you thought the last Iron Maiden song was bad, just listen to this pile of cockadookie...

Why is this song so bad? No, not because of Blaze. They repeat the chorus a whopping 22 TIMES!!!

Worst Iron Maiden song ever!

Shai Hulud are like my favorite Metalcore/Hardcore Punk band at the moment. While I love all of their albums, I feel like their second release is their strongest one

Also, Misanthropy Pure is kind of unfairly bashed. It's their heaviest album, so I'm rather fond of it

I'm also torrenting some Norma Jean and Shai Hulud because I'm kinda broke and I got no moneyz

Don't forget Coalesce, Botch, The Chariot and The Secret, they're pretty good too.

I have a preference of Hearts Once Nourished, but yeah their second one is good too, and I agree, Misanthropy Pure is a pretty damn good album, can't believe that one gets bashed quite a bit.

Have I put any Give Up The Ghost in here yet?
