unrelated, has anyone hear heard Boris - Vein? It's a huge contrast from the rest of their career.

Yea, it's really different and abrasive compared to the rest of their material, but since I like Noisecore and Hardcore, that thing was right up my alley

I like the '06 version better though, the new "re-issued" version is a bit too obnoxiously noisy

Thanks to RD92 I've begun to fall for Trivium. I particularly like this song cuz it cuts out all the vocal nonsense and just shreds.

Yeahhhhhhh Discordian, you're my bro!!!

I like the first few songs off that album plus the song you posted. The other songs are kind of boring though lol

Here's a couple personal favorite Trivium songs:

Rings of Saturn because Rings of Saturn.

Slightly less wankery than ever before.

Also, did anyone else give to the Sockweb campaign?  Only one day left to throw Indigogo stuff at a dad and his seven year old daughter doing grind.

Of course I did. I mean seriously, look at these two~

Yeah it was, much more of a Crust Punk sound to it, definitely an great album, and speaking of Boris, I listened to Dronevil earlier today, it was definitely a great album too.

Speaking of Trivium, I listened to a song by Capharnaum for the first time.  It's Matt Heafy's band before Trivium, I believe.  Anyway, it's pretty rad.  Reminiscent of Ember to Inferno.

I had a little falling out in one of my status updates yesterday because I really hate a certain metal subgenre...

Anyway, I've decided to venture into Death

I've begun to really fall for this band.

All the wasted years trying to hear good metal on the radio. The last chance I had at that disappeared when the only real metal station on the radio in my area went kaput. :(

MOOG AND I BOTH HAVE TAMAMA AVATARS YEEEEAH

Listening to Opeth's discography. Over the past few days, I've gone from Orchid to My Arms, Your Hearse. I thought Orchid and Morningrise were good, but My Arms, Your Hearse is fucking great.

Meh, so I decided to buy a Five Finger Death Punch album. I went with their first one because it seemed like it is a bit heavier and has better riffs and stuff. I still really like the song "Dying Breed" off of their second album though. I will get that album too just for the heck of it. And if I still don't love FFDP afterwards, then I guess I wasted my money haha.

Tamama is too adorable to resist, and afterall Sgt. Frog was the first subbed anime that I had watched

Anyways, continuing my journey through Boris with Feedbacker

Finished this album just now.

I liked it slightly less than My Arms, Your Hearse, but not by very much at all. I really like the acoustic parts Still Life offers, but MAYH feels like a more cohesive experience.

All these bitches are like "Blackwater Park! Blackwater Park!" even though they're dead wrong ;0

I ordered it, I should be getting it in a few days. I'm gonna take your word for it and assume that the second one is better than the first.

Speaking of the first, here's a couple songs I like from it:

A few songs from this band and a few songs from KORPIKLAANI are the only folk metal I've heard. Another genre that I should explore more cuz what I've heard is amazing.

I actually heard that second one in an AMV but the AMV version is a cut up version of the original song though I approve of it since it just cuts to the most epic parts of the song.

Wow, 400+ pages, not sure if I have anything to contribute that might've not been already posted xD

Anyhow, big metal fan here. Though 'metal' is quite a broad term but I'm guessing all is welcomed here. Personally, I tend to like some metal with classical elements for that bombtastic raw epic atmosphere. Lots of refinement and structure. Classical infused with metal is really great too.

At risk of repeating something from thread page 300's or so, I'll post a few things.

Shade Empire-Slumbering Giant

Septic Flesh-Mad Architect

Bonus: The Imperial March by Epica

I definitely agree about orchestrations in metal. It's one of the reasons I love Blind Guardian though I've not heard all that much by them.

Then there's Metallica's S&M album where they played live with an orchestra. Now that was good stuff.

I would of said first anime, but I grew up watching Dubbed anime when I was only 5, so technically it was only my first subbed anime.

And no I don't watch dubs, I only did when I was little.

Leaving this here:

I'll probably listen to Enemy of the Sun sometime when I feel like it

Well, at least they've confirmed a 2013 release date for their EP, and 2014 for the album.

I WANT IT.

I'm pretty sure everyone watched dubbed Pokemon and Digimon and all that when they were younger ;0

I have yet to find an Opeth album that blows me away, and Deliverance is no exception.

Damnation is next, and I already know I love Windowpane, so I expect good things.

This was a really solid listen.

And there's a promo video attached to it that's pretty damn funny.

Makes up for the disappointment of Hesitation Marks by a long shot.
