Shooting cuddled Addie as she slept and smiled. She liked the pegasus wings Addie wrapped around her, they felt embracing, loving, warm. Not at all like how she lived before Addie took her in but after her old mother left. Shooting was having a nightmare and softly cried in her sleep, hugging Addie as right as she could.

"Shhh shhh. It's okay...Addie's right here. Addie said as she began to stroke Shootings mane again. She stayed awake until Shooting would go back to sleep peaceful. Somehow, Addie knew that Shooting was still thinking about her old mother. Addie continued to stroke Shooting's mane.

Shooting was continuing to cry softly in her sleep. Shooting was having a nightmare of bullies and some kind of monster chasing her and wanting to eat her. It was just a creepy dream to others, but to her, it was one of the few scariest things ever. Next to denial and hatred of her, the characters besides herself were the scariest. She tried to wrap her hooves around Addie but couldn't very well.

Addie hugged Shooting tightly. "Please don't cry sweetie. Mommy's right here." Addie said beginning to lick Shooting's mane lovingly. She would do anything to try to get Shooting from this terrible nightmare. She hated to see any foal suffer like this...especially if they had a rough past.

Shooting continued to cry at her nightmare. She hated it but wanted to see if any kind of good thing would happen. Her hoof was out of her mouth and was hugging Addie as tight as she could. She was wailing since her hoof wasn't in her mouth to quiet her down.

Addie thought of one last thing. She began to sing to Shooting one of the songs that her parents used to sing to her all of the time:

 

Hush little Shooting don't you cry

Addie's gonna buy you a diamond ring

And if that diamond ring don't shine

Addie's gonna buy you a puppy dog...

Shooting's crying died down a little bit. It died down because of Addie and one of the bullies in her dream went away. She was still gripping Addie tightly in her sleep though. When she partially heard the song, she heard something about a diamond ring and she didn't know what a diamond ring was.

Addie finished up the song and noticed that Shooting had stopped crying. She smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the muzzle. She was glad that the nightmare was over, but noticed that Shooting also had a look on her face. "Huh? Is something wrong? You look a little confused..." Addie stated.

Shooting was visibly still crying but was silent because her hoof went back to her mouth. She was biting on it hard. Hard enough that she was bleeding a bit on her hoof where she was sucking. She was still asleep and the nightmare still going. She was crying but not audibly.

"Sh...Shooting...you're bleeding!" Addie exclaimed as she gently tried to pry Shooting's bleeding hoof out of her mouth. She then gathered some magic and let some of her healing magic run through. It healed up Shooting's hoof. Addie hugged Shooting tightly.

Shooting woke up at Addie saying she was bleeding. Shooting's hoof came out easily, even if she was asleep. She was sniffling and tears soaked her face. She let Addie use her magic to heal Shooting's bleeding hoof. She hugged her new mother back. "Mo-mommy?" She hiccuped.

"Yes sweetie?" Addie asked as she looked into Shooting's little eyes. She giggled a little when Shooting hiccuped. She was still stroking her mane lovingly, waiting for Shooting to tell her what she wanted. She was also happy that Shooting started to call her mommy more often.

"No monsters are gonna get me right?" Shooting asked. She was scared of monsters getting her if she didn't behave well. She was still hugging Addie tightly. After all, it was her mother she was talking to about one of her fears. Her eyes were big and curious, and showed she was afraid.

"Definately not! I will always be here. There are certainly no monsters in Ponyville." Addie said as she continued to stroke Addie's fur. It was still in the middle of the night. It was around 3am. There were five more hours of the night. "But it's very late, we need to rest for tomorrow." Addie stated.

Shooting looked all together relieved. "Promise?" Shooting asked. She wanted to be sure Addie would be there for her and there would be no monsters. Shooting snuggled against Addie and hugged her. "What about the piano lesson?" Shooting asked. She just remembered about it, even though it wasn't the time for it.

"I promise." Addie stated. She then heard Shooting ask about her piano lesson. "I'll teach you how to play tomorrow morning right after we eat breakfast. Now we must get some sleep." Addie stated as she yawned and slowly drifted off to sleep, cuddling and embracing Shooting.

When Addie said it was time to go to bed and started to fall asleep, Shooting went to bed herself and cuddled Addie as she slept. Her mind was racing, but she taught herself to fall asleep even though her mind was like that before. She fell asleep on Addie's soft tummy. Her hoof didn't move to her mouth, they were bear hugging Addie. All four.

Morning soon rose over Ponyville. Addie was sleeping and hugging Shooting when all of a sudden, her belly let out a loud grumble, causing her to giggle cutely and open her eyes. "Well that's one type of alarm...my tummy!" She joked and giggled a little more. "Time to wake up Shooting." Addie said licking Shooting lovingly.

Shooting woke up to Addie's stomach grumbling and her telling Shooting to wake up. She giggled at Addie licking her, it tickled. "Morning mommy." Shooting greeted sleepily. She still hugged Addie bear hug style. She curled up on Addie's belly with part of her hanging off a little.

Addie opened her eyes. "Good morning. How was your sleep last night?" Addie asked as she gently picked up Shooting and placed her on the floor. She then rolled over and got up stretching. She then looked at the clock. It was 10am. She didn't have anything to do that day.
