Congratulations to both Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy for the fantastic final. Both ponies were brilliant.

Spike, Big Macintosh and Discord are the only males on the list, the Cutie Mark Crusaders are all nearly equal to one another, and Princess Luna lost out to Fluttershy in the Semi-Finals by only two votes.

Very happy to see Derpy in the top 10! She's even more popular than Spike?

However, Rainbow Dash being the least popular mane 6 doesn't surprise me. I've always seen her as a "love or hate" character.

Rarity is 4th, not bad! But I was expecting better.

 

Most entertaining team: Pinkie Pie! I loved the posts of @Dsanders, @Pinkamena-Pills, , @PinkieAlliPie (...)

Overachiever: Hard to choose between Twilight and Derpy. I'd say Twilight, because like other members, I was expecting a Rarity vs Applejack finale.

Underachiever: Applejack and Rarity (especially AJ) for the same reason.

Fair posters: @Pinkamena-Pills and @The JLmle, they sometimes supported the character they weren't for.

Evidently underachiever is Rainbow Dash.  If she hadn't gone against Princess Twily, she surely would have done better.

 

The voting seems to say "O.k. Luna, you're the new Rainbow Dash."
 

It doesn't say that.  Not a bit.  It says Rainbow hit Twilight, a character which had a full season to develop and then developed apace with all the other ponies, and couldn't withstand that level of development.

 

It's almost a shame as I might have voted season 4 Dash over Season 1 Twilight, because she's grown so much, and growth is hard.  Growth in the real world takes hard, hard work.  And to make growth seem real in a fictional setting is nearly a feat of magic.  I've seen many series avoid it and others switch characters randomly.  But Rainbow Dash's growth is realistic and frankly inspiring.  So a 7th place is not what she deserves.

But that's how the coin toss fell.

Dear Princess Celestia, 

 

Thankyou for setting up this world cup if you did, because it gave me a chance to show my love and support for Sweetie Belle and try to show bronies that Sweetie's the best pony. Even though she lost in the primary round she at least won 2 battles. So if it can be any pony for awards I choose Sweetie Belle the most adorable singing filly, Spike the comedy relife assistant dragon, Pinkie Pie the super duper party pony that's really fun, or Fluttershy the kindest pony in all of Equestria. So of course these are my hopes for the results for Fluttershy to win over Twilight, it's because Fluttershy deserves to win also in my opinion Twilight's an egghead. This was a good world cup with a very good variety of characters I enjoyed voting for my favorites and trying to defeat my least by campeigns. In the future of wolrd cups add characters from season 5 and just keep it like this it was a really awesome voting thing alot better than the Hub's last year.

Phew!! Maybe now I'll stop pulling up the forums and having hundreds of notifications from a single thread!! haha I know I made some apologies in the WC recently for not being as active of a commentator, but a number of things came up that inhibited my ability and desire to be proactive. I planned to be really active Saturday since all those things had finished Friday, but alas, it was not meant to be: I got home late, sunburned and achy, took a hot bath, and as I tried to go to bed, discovered that I was not going to get any sleep whatsoever because I spent the entire night sitting next to the toilet throwing up and dry-heaving, followed by tentative and un-restful sleep all day Saturday and most of Sunday!! What an eventful week!

 

So, part of me is glad this weekend is over, but the other part of me is sad that it happened the same time as the MLPF WC finals!! I was able to go through and read most of the posts to finish off that thread and all the ones here.

 

I'm going to make a blog entry attempting to recognize everypony I know that was involved in helping this World Cup come to life via Interview, Design, Brainstorming, Staffing, or whatever. If I forget somepony, let me know! (preferably by PM so I can add you/them ASAP) I'll link it back on this page when I finish. Thanks everypony who participated in this!! It was a great way for me to find my place in the forums! (Literally 12 days after creating my MLPF account! haha)

I don't feel like I have enough information, not having participated in the earlier rounds, to vote for half of the issues.  I do have the two characters that I feel over and under-achieved, otherwise I don't feel qualified for the voting. 

 

(even if I went back and read them, it's not the same as watching it unfold)
