Should Trixie have been punished?

I don't think this would have helped her. If they want her to learn her lesson, they shouldn't punish her (physically? :wau: hell no; jail? that could make her even more evil...).

I think Trixie learned her lesson, and as long as she doesn't pull other crap, getting showed up was punishment enough.

Would anyone consider this a good punishment for Trixie or is it worse than anything she's done?

All the ponies in Ponyville throw Trixie an apology party.  But Trixie gets hung and beat up like a pinata and hit in her groin several times.  Next, Trixie gets used as the donkey in pin the tail on the donkey.  Half of Trixie's cutie mark gets ripped off and everypony gives this to Trixie:

"Boo-hoo!  Looks like Twit-sie lost what made her special!"

"But what's so special about her!  She was a dumb fraud anyway!"

"That's because she's really a donkey, not a pony!"

Then Trixie gets twirled around on the dance floor with a bunch of ribbons and kicked to a table.  Finally, Trixie gets force-fed the cake.  To wash it down, Trixie is given some punch, but it turns out to be drugged.  She passes out and everypony send her floating off to dragon territory in hopes she won't a fraud anymore.  Somepony tells Trixie this while making a rape face:

"Have fun with the dragons, the gross and powerless Twit-sie!"

That's sick. I'm sorry I even read that. :fiery:

I would say that she could argue that she was under the influence of the Alicorn Amulet & thus has a "diminished capacity" defense.  The question is "Why did she have that amulet in the 1st place", though +IIRC, she stole it.  So maybe she did some jail time or at least community service

She did, in fact, pay for it, not steal it. While she may have had an insanity plea possible for what she did while she was wearing it, she still sought it out with the intention of using it for revenge. That's criminal intent right there so she could be convicted of possessing and/or using it.

In the comics, Trixie has been working hard to change from that, and also ended up forming a bond with Babs because of it. Also, the whole "enslaved ponyville" wasn't totally her fault, as she was being influenced by a cursed magical artifact...and the fact her first visit, she was treated like crap, just because she used a story to try to keep a crowd...and no one bothered to blame the town idiots for causing the issue in the first place.

And should Trixie be punished? Since Luna was never punished for allowing herself to become Nightmare Moon, and trying to kill her sister in order to dominate Equestria...than no.

I don´t think what she did in "Boast busters" was a bad thing. She just did what was her talent: Being a stage magician. They´re supposed to be cocky. :kindness:

This guy gets it. Besides, they should've of treated her like crap for it, which lead to her doing what she did in season 3. Plus, the ones to blame for that mess with the Ursa Minor were dumb and dumber, Snips and Snails.

I agree, she WAS treated pretty shabbily in Boast Busters.  She was blamed for the Ursa Minor when that was Snips and Snails fault.  Plus, her home was destroyed & no compensation.

Besides, if they are going to punish ponies for boasting they would have to dig a hole, put Dash in the hole, & build a prison on top of it.  10,000 years from now, the prison will have withered into dust & Dash will STILL owe time for the crime. :o
