movies/tv Is Spongebob slowly dying out?

Now as for the new movie, I will say the animated bits are funny though that live action reminds me of those smurfs movies.

I haven't seen any of the VERY recent episodes so I can't fairly accuse it of going downhill, but since I grew up with the older episodes, I have to say it was much better then, from what I hear about it today. Good times were had watching it oh so many times.

I personally still like Spongebob. I remember when it came out ^.^ and just loved it!

I still like the show. The new episodes are not to bad. But of course it has changed a bit.

I don't think it's really dying out. They have just had to satisfy children now days.

I mean really have you seen Cartoon networks cartoons now days? They are crazy and a lot are perverted.

I only like Teen Titans go from there (I miss the original Teen Titans T^T)

Nickelodean has started to change a bit to the same ways. Like that stupid sanjay and craig.

New shows remind me of Ren and stimpy but they are worse possibly.

He died after the first movie. Nickelodeon are simply beating his corpse to squeeze as much money out before they realise no-one actually watches the vile mess of a cartoon they continue to mass produce and throw in our faces. It's pretty much like the Simpsons now. It's gone downhill, and they should have stopped it a LONG time ago. 

 

*Sigh* They cancel Futurama, a good show, yet continue the Simpsons?

There are a lot of things wrong with the current Spongebob. I used to love the show. I really enjoyed the first movie... But something changed. Nowadays, the plots are the same, a lot of the jokes are unfunny and just awkward, and it's simply unwatchable for me now.

 

But, this is just my opinion.

Unfortunately, yes. Yet, with his new movie, i dont see it as a box office hit but more of a bomb. Used to enjoy it after season 4, but now its really going downhill. However, we gotta remember that Spongebob is actually keeping Nickelodeon above ground. If that were to die out than most likely they'll lose lots of viewers.

I never really understood the appeal to Spongebob; even when the series first started airing. I mean yeah, it had interesting parts, but the show never appealed to me. I guess I was too attached to other shows like Angry Beavers...

 

In the end, it seems like Spongebob has overstayed its welcome. I've caught some of the newer episodes, and while they don't feel as mind-numbingly stupid as something like Chowder, it feels...stale. Either it could use some new blood, new ideas, or it should just be retired.

Simpsons is not that bad if you had to chose between a new episode of Simpson's and an old episode of friend's I would pick the Simpsons. I stop watch SpongeBob he cried to much it was annoying so I don't know about the most recent episodes

It seems like the older episodes are more humerous than the current newer ones.

There's way too much singing in the newer one too.

Now you might be thinking, "But Emerald, there's tons of singing in MLP."

Yeah you're right, but in MLP the musical notes actually sound good.

Honestly, hearing Spongebob sing is more painful for me than humping a cactus.

Yep spongebob has been a rotting cash cow since after the 2004 movie... I think that was when all the original writers left I think correct me if I am wrong. But after that they changed spongebob's personality and voice. They even managed to make spongebob un bearably annoying after the movie idk how though but they did :/

As I recall it might've been dying out for years.

As for all the hate of the later seasons. I don't know, I haven't watched them.

But I think that as people grow up and age the show isn't the same as they remembered it as a child.

You're wrong. Spongebob has been dead the whole time. Since the movie, to my knowledge. I haven't seen Spongebob in a long time.
