Season 1 and 2 (can't choose between them) are by far my favorites.

I really enjoyed Season 1 the most. I love the show still, but the first season seemed to focus the most on intelligent interpersonal communication, which is something very few other children's shows had done in a realistic, heartfelt, and engaging way.

I can't really pick one season as my favorite, though I do have a semi-nostalgic fondness for the first two seasons. But I'm gonna vote for Season 3 because the amount of hate that season gets saddens me and it deserves at least one like for having two of the absolute most perfect episodes of the series.

I can't really decide between season 2 and 4. Both were very good.

I think that during season 1 the show hadn't growed the beard yet, although it slowly got better and better.

I don't think season 3 was particularly bad, but that one or season 1 was probably "the worst".

Season 2 made me a brony, and it had some of the best episodes in my opinion. There were really no bad or boring episodes, I just loved it all.

Season 4, easily. I feel like it had so many wonderful moments and characters and I think it was the one where they experimented the most in the entire show so far. Plus, how they ended the season was amazing. The overarching nature of the Rainbow Power was also a very nice touch.

 

I see season 4 as a natural and exciting advancement of the series and that to me really takes it above the others, plus everything else I mentioned.

Season 4 is easily my favorite but that's mostly since my favorite episodes: Pinkie Pride, Twilight's Kingdom, Rarity Takes Manehatten, etc.. are some of my favorite episodes of the whole show. The only season I didn't like was the first one, it was kind of boring. :s

Season 4 would have to be my favorite considering that the stakes were much higher, the episodes felt a lot more creative, some of the best episodes of the entire show are here, the animation is at it's best, the expansion of lore was welcome, and I felt the story-telling was either better than or largely on par with season 2.

 

As such, I feel that seasons 2, 3, & 1 fall behind in that order. It's not that season 1 is bad; it's still good, but it feels flat in comparison overall.

Season 4 is my favorite season. Good premiere and a great finale, Pinkie Pride, Testing Testing 1 2 3, For whom the Sweetie Belle tolls, Rarity takes Manehatten, Pinkie apple Pie are all great episodes for me. Sure there where some stinkers, but which series dosen't

 

on close second is Season 2, which has with Lesson Zero, my all time favorite episode. Other greats include Return of Harmony, which is still the best season opener, Luna Eclipsed, read it and weep, Hurricane Fluttershy and Canterlot Wedding. I think if this wasn't the season of Mare Do Well, it would be a tie.

 

On third is Season 1. Great episodes include Applebuck Season, Winter Wrap up, Suited for success and Party of one. Good season, but very experimental.

 

Of course, Season 3 is last. The only episodes i would consider great, are Sleepless in Ponyville and Magic Duel. The rest was a very weird bag between okay and Spike at your service.

For me it's a tie between Seasons 1 and 2.

 

Season 4 is in third.

 

Season 3 is at the bottom of my list, it felt really sloppy and rushed overall, it has a few episodes that I liked and considered good, but they were far outweighed by the other episodes and their flaws and the finale had both of it's biggest issues along with a mishmash of two plots that felt like two different episodes that weren't given enough time to be fully fleshed out and raised more disturbing questions than it was willing to answer in regards to destiny, free will, and Cutie Marks.

I think at this current moment it's Season 4 but I alternate between whether Season 4 and Season 2 is better but the reason I like Season 4 better right now is because I have seen it less, I have watched it twice whereas I have seen Season 2 4 times. That's right 4=2 and 2=4. So last time I watched Season 2 I skipped a few episodes of it so I could skip to Season 3 faster because I was re-watching everything.

 

Then it's Season 1 because it's Season 1 and it's pretty good but it didn't get foundation yet so wasn't as good as Season 2.

 

And of course, Season 3 was the least good. It was shorter than the rest and it just all around wasn't as good as the other Seasons but I still liked it.

Hmmmm I'd have to say season 3.

 

-It opened with my second favorite two parter.

 

-It advanced Dash's story and character. Breaking the status quo even further.

 

-It had two episodes that intersected with one another.

 

-Introduced us to new magical elements within the show's universe.

 

-Ended with something that bombed the status quo and completed the arc setup from the very first episode.

 

All in all. These were elements I loved to see the show explore but "my favorite season" is only so. This show has always surprised and delighted me and I have faith it will continue to do so.

It's tied between Seasons 2 and 4 for me. I liked Seasons 1 and 3, too, but Seasons 2 and 4 had more memorable episodes, in my opinion.

Season 4, easily. I liked the other seasons, but Season 4 had many of my favorite episodes, such as Rarity Takes Manehattan, Pinkie Pride, Equestria Games, Twilight's Kingdom.. I could go on. The only episodes that I thought were "meh" from Season 4 were Rainbow Falls and Trade Ya!

 

Season 2 is in second place, how fitting. Yes, it did have low points, such as Putting Your Hoof Down, but it still had some more of my favorites, such as Hurricane Fluttershy, Sweet and Elite, and a few others.

 

Season 1 and 3 are tied in last for me. I still like them, but they both shared the same problems for me. I felt a lot of the episodes in them were meh to just plain bad. Season 1 even had my least favorite episode of all time, Boast Busters, and many of my least favorites, notably Sonic Rainboom, Bridle Gossip and the Ticket Master, however I still thought it did have some good ones, like Suited for Success, Winter Wrap Up and Party of One. Same goes for Season 3, it had low points, i.e. Spike at Your Service, Keep Calm and Flutter On, but still some high points, like Magic Duel and Apple Family Reunion.
