Frosty got confused when the Human-man told him that the weird dimension-thingy had been lying to him. I mean, yeah, it made kind of sense, as the thingy had done something to knock Barrel out before he took him, instead of just telling him, soooo it kind of made sense.

Frosty nodded as Summer explained who was who, throwing in the occasional "Eeyup" in agreement.

"Soooooo... Your name is Damon? Wel, nice to meet you," Frosty said, smiling, "I'm Frosty, and I freeze stuff sometimes. You could say that it's a really cool thing to do."

He coughed once. "Anywaaaay, I think it's the smartest to wait here, as we'll probably lose her if we try to follow her, and if she comes back, we won't be here, and it'll be sad... So I guess we'll stay here, or at least somewhere near here."

He looked around for a second, wondering just what to do now.

"So what do we do now? Just stand around, looking at the fancy coloured trees?"

Whilst Ziggy wasn't having any luck with things, Omen had some luck with the book search. Or well, she Might have was more like it. Considering the random way things still looked for her she hadn't the faintest hope in spotting any kind of system in the place, but she did find some more books that could be checked. Perhaps amongst them there was what the princess sought.

She didn't stop when Serenade started to sing on her way over to have the new stack of books checked. Like the last time, the only effect that it seemed to have on her was a low tingling, which was a curious feeling for her, but nothing that impeded her in any way.

Ponyville had gotten through a lot in it's time. Invasions, major destructions, parades that had gotten out of hand etc. yet Omen didn't know of those things, nor how Discord had tried to take it over, had lost, and was now a reformed being helping the stable world instead of twisting it at every turn.

All she knew was what had brought here there. That he had been seen there at times, visiting a yellow mare with pink mane in the outskirts of town. If the other things were said it wasn't when she was around, though really, she had spent most of her time near said mare, waiting to see if Discord would show whilst thinking over what she would do if he actually showed up. So far there had been nothing of note beyond seeing her around some animals and a group of other mares who showed up at times, at which point she stayed behind and waited instead of stalking them.

The thought had been there to show herself to Fluttershy instead of keeping watch, but if master met up with her, she must be important, and you did not go against those who earned master's favour. Though she wasn't sure what caught his eye with this one. She seemed too orderly to draw him in. Perhaps it was something only he saw.

Omen had been silent for a bit whilst the thoughts slowly made their way through her mind before she averted her eyes from the sun and settled back on Senlin.

"What, is she like? Your sister."

Not far after that - around the centre of the library - Vivid stopped up and looked over at... Well, an empty bit of space really. "Don't be alarmed little one, everything will be okay."

The out of place comment was made by Vivid as she took a small step forward, cautiously going forward like she was worried she'd scare somepony.

"No, I'm not with them. Why? have you waited for them?"

She took another step before averting her eyes from the stack of books briefly and looked towards Crescent. She had forgotten about him for a moment there, and when he couldn't... He must think her mad. Ah, but that was her own mistake, and like most other things, it was up to her to fix that.

The tip of her horn got an eerie glow as what looked like fog started to seep out of the stones near him. It took a bit of time before it had gathered, but in the end, something akin to a flimsy, smoke-like mirror was floating softly in the air, and if he looked through it he would be able to see what she saw.

A filly, not much older than perhaps 12, stood next to the pile of books. Her form was somewhat frayed at the edges, and the colours had long since drained from her body, but you could still see how she would have been when she was alive, And considering the way she looked, how a nasty cold seemed to have ended it. As she looked at the mirror - and in essence Crescent - he would see that her eyes were empty, and she looked puzzled, as if slowly awakened by a heavy daze..

"He can't hear you, but I think you have seen that plenty enough times to know that, right? But I can, and I can help you, spirit of old."

Vivid took another step, at which point the spirit started to fizzle and wander backwards, getting a scared look on her face before vanishing.

"We'll, it was worthy a try anyways." Allure stepped out into the all. She looked around, seeing neither Petey's nor Priestess's doors. "Guess there's nowhere for me to go but out." She stepped towards the door to her dream realm, which oddly enough, was a revolving door. "Anything else I should know before we part ways for now?"

Back in the waking world

Priestess climbed off the bed and proceeded to walk over to the chair where Petey lay. She grabbed him gently in her teeth and lifted him off. On the way back to the bed, she opened the saddle crates with her tail, encouraging the rest of her litter to follow her. She knelt down by the bed as her offspring climbed onto her back and onto the mattress. After they were all on board, she climbed on herself and gently deposited Petey. She did the only thing she could, and that's start to groom Petey's unconscious form, bathing him with her tongue. It was the first thing she did when all of them were born, and it's the only thing she could do now, as she waited for both changeling mother and child to recover.

"No need to hide right now. You can be yourselves here." Taking that cure, two of the other kits, Dio and Miles, were engulfed in purple flame, and when the embers died, two changeling nymphs w/ purple hued eyes & thin orange & white tails were among the other kits.

Though Senlin had his apprehensions towards meeting this strange character, he felt he could have a shot at finding Lin. He and Omen could start something only he and his sister had once. Senlin slowly raised his claw again, this time reaching outwards to Omen. He had never done so to others, mostly because they either were afraid of him. This time, he felt he could connect with someone who was unlike him.

"It sounds like home."

The way Senlin spoke of his sister weren't far from what it was like where she came from, so she could understand some of how close the two must be. Back there, they were all curious about the worlds outside, and though things could turn bad out there, or they could end serving an evil one, they would always return home in the end. They had eachother, much like Senlin and his sister. It was more than she understood about most others she met.

Seeing his outstretched claw distracted her a little from this again as she slowly took another step forward and pushed his claw with her hoof. She was still not used to the whole concept of shaking hooves, and the claw made it hard for her to be sure if she was to do the same as with others, so she just tried something. Like a kitten faced with an unfamiliar toy.

"Ponyville? I can get us there."

A dot appeared out of nowhere to the side of them, then quickly expanded into a pony-sized gate. Inside the gate, the ever-shifting and multiple-shades-of-grey landscape of her home was seen. it might not be a welcomed way of transport by Senlin, and would potentially seem a little alarming, but she did this to everypony. It was the fastest way she knew, so unless they told her otherwise, she would always prepare to go through there. Though, she would close it again if it wasn't. It would be far from the first time somepony had not wanted to get anywhere near there.

The longma were a strange race but even Senlin was taken aback by what he say. His clan had mystics but alchemical concoctions was the most they were able to do. Magic, at least in this form, was completely new to him. This new development intrigued him all the more and while he would err to the side of caution, maybe this was a chance to see more. The mystics probably dreamed of harnessing powers like these and here he is, seeing it for himself.

"Wait, I think I can sense something," Charlie said as a door started to fade into place until it was completely solid, followed by seventeen others that remained translucent. "Never have I been so happy to be wrong. Well, actually, I don't think I've ever been wrong before. It's such a new concept to me still, being able to speak. Anyway, do you want to visit whoever this is?" "Actually, we definitely should go there. This is clearly Petey's door, and I still have to repair his hive connection. This way it will be quicker and easier, and I won't have to wake him up," the Doctor responded quickly. "What do you say? The decision is yours, your highness." The fact that this door was Petey's was clear because his presence could be felt on the other side, and by dream logic they would know who it was. But for Queen Allure, the appearance of the door should be a good representation of who it was on the other side.

He walked in, pulled his hooks and rope out of the box on the side of his cart, hooked up one of the logs on one end and pulled the other end, pulling the log out of the cart. This way they would have room to work. "We'll remove the seeds here, then bring them back to the grove. You'll find the seeds growing where the branches split off. First you have to wiggle them, then twist them until they come off. But be gentle, these are the tree's children and should be treated as such," he said, demonstrating on one of the seeds. The seed looked like a cross between a walnut and an acorn and was blue-green like the tree, but it glowed brighter than the tree, whose light had faded a little since the day before. He then pulled a small sack out of the box on the side of his cart, placing the seed inside, leaving the sack on the floor next to the tree.

What was being pictured was a cross between a crayon drawing of a preschool classroom, and the throne room of an evil fortress. "Come fourth my hoof maiden. Your master needs to be satisfied." He said in a ridiculously deep voice. "He's been hanging around Priestess for too long."

Last walked up the throne steps to her "master." She kneeled down next to Petey. "Put it on..." He said. Last then pulled out a nurses cap and placed it on her head. Oddly enough, the cap had a bendy straw in it. Petey leaned over and began to sip from it, from Last. Loudly.

Over at Ponyville, around 3-4 minutes after she had taken off, Blitz came running into town. She had gotten a little off track from stumbling over that root before, and she nearly hit a trash can and a few ponies who stood near it now, but she was still making good enough time all things considered.

Since she wasn't as fast to stop her momentum as she was at beginning it, she missed the bakery the first time she rushed past, but she managed to turn around and get over to the back of the rather large line that had formed there. It seemed like it was one of the busy mornings since the line went all the way to the outside, but she'd get to the front eventually.

_______________________________________________________________

@@EQ_Theta,

Friend... Odd to be called that. Usually the words she got were neutral, somewhat bad from those who didn't like her master, or more akin to just calling her a nice enough mare. Friend wasn't something that was usually in those words, and never directed to her.

Ziggy had used the same word, yes, but from what she had seen, she called everypony that. It wasn't anything special for her, so it's meaning couldn't be that important. Perhaps Senlin was the same, but she would see. If he wasn't... She didn't know. What did friends do? Perhaps she would learn.

"Stay close then."

With that, she lead the way into the gate that promptly closed right after Senlin entered.

Inside, the grey hues of the evershifting realm was far easier to see, though they didn't make much more sense for that reason. One second a mountain as high as any Equestria had ever seen would stand there, the next it would be gone, twisted into a flat plains with fleeting shades of other beings wandering over it.

The *ground* the two of them stood on remained solid however. Omen's kin were the only ones who could form the shades in this realm instead of having them twist and turn all the time, though they normally only did that when guiding somepony through here, or briefly, if a particular shade fascinated them or they wanted to see somepony closer.

Such was the case when what looked like a gooey *pony* rose from the floor a little away from them and looked at the two, though Senlin in particular. The eyes were narrower and there was five of them, but they carried the same light-grey shade that Omen's did, so it seemed to be one of hers. Though they did sometimes mingle and match in shades anywhere between two in one or thousands in a massive shade, the eyes didn't mingle well, and if the eyes stood close like this, you could tell it was just one. Otherwise, it would be covered by them.

Besides, they usually had one taking the first look, then more gathering in afterwards, even if all didn't take more form than looking at them from everywhere with their unblinking gaze.

"Sibling. It is curious about you."

Whoever would become a master of one of them didn't just assign them a form or names, he or she also determined their gender and after getting a specification like that, didn't change it unless they were called by another again that changed it for them. But not all had had masters, or those they had didn't want to make them have a specific gender, so for them, they just went by it until somepony came around that would change that.

Omen took a small step towards her sibling and nodded at the stream of words that was let her way that Senlin wouldn't be able to understand, though he could likely tell that it was the same language as she had spoken before when telling what her kind was called.

"No, this isn't master. Master is stranger than him. Larger."

She nodded as more eyes started to show up around them, though so far the ones who picked a vague form hadn't approached them like this one did. After a few seconds of this, she turned to Senlin again.

"We can go, but it asks: Are you magical?"

@@Blitz Boom,

"Magical?" Senlin struggled with the idea that longma had inherent magic of their own. He believed himself to be no more than a hybrid of dragon and pony. "I don't know. I mean, compared to all of you or all of this, I could pass as an average pony. I doubt I have magic of my own."

And this place, it was nothing he would expect from his travels. Magic for utility or showmanship was one thing but being at the center of it all and unable to make of it? It was completely new and foreign to him. The shifting surroundings added to his internal conflict of emotions: scared, amazed, curious, and right now, nauseous. Every step was more difficult and while the ground was still, Senlin's legs moved with the rhythm of a pony who was blindfolded and spun at high speeds.

Able to gain some grip on himself, he remembered an old technique his clan's elders taught him. He sat down on his hind legs and put his claws perpendicular in front of him, one palm facing up horizontally while the other held vertical. Senlin closed his eyes and took in some deep breaths. He felt the thumping of his chest slow with each breath in and out, and every conflicting thought faded from his mind. With the rhythm now steady, he stood up and faced Omen and others.

"Oh, were you disturbed by that?"

She stepped back through the door, then started knocking on it. "Who dares disturbed the sanctity of my lair?" "It's other mom Petey sweety." She poked her head through the door. "Oh. Come in other mother. How has your day been?"

"Oh it could've gone better, considering I got blasted by Everwood magic."

"Ah yes, I remember that. That hurt both you and I. How did such an occurrence happen?"

"Well, the blast severed my link to the hive. After that, all the hive signals automatically went to you, which overloaded you in a sense. Are you feeling alright honey?"

"Hmm. Well my cranial region still afflicts me." Said the little kit as he rubbed the front of his head.

"I thought as much. Well I hope this isn't too sudden, but I did bring help."

Cresent raised an eye brow with the waves of questions that jumped in his mind, he looked at Vivid "I don't know anything about spirits save what you told me earlier but if she's really old..." cresent trailed off "she can no doubt hear me wonder if she knows any nursery rhymes we could try, you know get her relaxed more lets see" Cresent went around the mirror to the books the ghost philly was standing by hopping it would help with clues.

He couldn't recognize the text on most of them save one, "here we go" he but slightly on the binding to pull the book from the stack and was surpised it didn't topple onto him. setting it down he opend it with his wings and carfully turned a few pages the book was called "songs of old for young fillys and colts"

He smiled and began to whistle one of the songs as he wasn't a singer for ponys standerds hopping to hear a tune or somhow relax the spirit

"Yeah, let's go to Summer's house. I really want to see what it looks like," Frosty said with a smile. "Damon needs some food and water, so let's go!"

Frosty looked at Summer's coloured swirl of leaves and gasped in awe. It was really pretty to look at. "Woah, Summer. I forgot you could do stuff like that..."

He turned to Damon. "Welp, I don't have any awesome stuff to show you, but you can always ask me if you need to cool down a bit."

After a moment of hesitation, he added: "And yes, I'll make that pun whenever I can, just so you know."

'let's go to my house then' summer said and walked like a soldier.

"And yes, I'll make that pun whenever I can, just so you know."
summer roled her eyes when frosty made that last pun and said to him: 'i think you are really punny' and winked. but then she turned around and walked to her house. she did not want to rush it because she thought damon would be tired but she also didn't want to walk slow because if damon was tired he would want to get to her house fast so he could sit down. this is really confusing summer thought,  she often made other ponies confused with her strange ideas but not ofter herself, this was new to her. and summer was so caught up with her thought that whe almost walked into a tree 'whoa, watch out' she said as she stoped just before bumping into the tree. then she  looked at the others and said 'and this is what you shouldn't do when you walk in the ever free forest. i thought i would just demonstrate it so damon would know it' and she smiled.

@@EQ_Theta,

In the short while that Senlin used to get a grip on himself, a lot more had joined up to look over the stranger amongst them. A whole lot more.

As he would look, he would see Omen, and her sibling that still stood behind her, though changed in size. Behind and around them, mountains of shadow had erupted out of the ground and from it's jagged canyons, thousand upon thousands of eyes sitting in the face of randomly shaped creatures of greater and lesser density fell upon them, along with even more that seemed just part of the stone, all unblinking, and all looking at him in silence.

A second in time of stability where he had the unrivalled attention of a vast number of souls.

Then, as sudden as it had happened, it all fell down. The mountains crumbled and flowed out to join the matter of this place's unstable building blocks, the eyes vanished, and even Omen's sibling disappeared, melting in front of his eyes until the only thing that was left was the world as it used to be and Omen who slowly moved closer.

"...Confused."

He seemed calmer, which was fine, but like every other member of her family she had not been looking because they were disturbed, scared or worried. No, they were all watching because they were curious about what was happening, thinking that perhaps it was magic of some kind until he had opened his eyes again, calmer than he had been when it started. It had been odd to watch and hard to understand, so there was confusion, but it had not been magic. And when that became clear, things had returned to how they always were.

As she reached him, the ground in a circle around them loosened and rose up, floating gently through the air whilst the *guide* kept her unblinking gaze on the odd Longma.

"It knows how those with horns in your world haves magic. It hoped you had too, and could be its master. Many hoped for that."

They floated seemingly aimlessly for a while whilst Omen talked, thinking he wanted to know why they had gotten there if they were just confused. It seemed like something that would be asked for her anyway.

"What was it you did? It wasn't magic, we can tell that even if we don't have it, but not what it then is."

@@cwhip9,

Vivid looked at Crescent with a glimmer of respect in her non-burning eye over the way he approached this.

Usually when she had shown others what she saw, they ran away, started to spit out questions like a wood-chopper, or worse, tried to mistakenly defend the old spirit from what could seem like her attacking him/her.

So far though,Crescent had not only managed to hold back what questions he might have and not freak out in any way she could see, but also handled the situation with an open mind and a good idea about how to approach this. It was rather impressive really.

Even though he wouldn't know the details of it, spirits of old had a habit of either going mad or cling to something that brought them joy in life as much as possible, like it was a way back to their old life, or a comfort of sorts at the very least that they needed to help them pass on. To this one it seemed to be old melodies sung to younger foals that perhaps her mother or father had sung to send her off to sleep once, though she had seen it before with spirits haunting placed with a piano or other instruments too, waiting for that little melody that could help them relax, and perhaps finally make them accept and let go.

She wouldn't claim to know all the motives. Even if she could speak with them, often the spirits spoke in riddles, had gotten mad, or was as in a daze, needing something to shake them back to the reality of things, if only briefly, but not enough to always make them easy to understand. It was one of the reasons she had passed that point of no return back in her days and had taken the abuse that would follow from her training in forcing a spirit on, because sometimes there was no other way to perform her duty, even if it was universally considered sacrilege back then.

Hopefully that wouldn't have to happen now, was the last thing she thought before a flicker started to slowly get towards them from a few rows away.

"Good, you're getting through to her. Keep it going."

A few seconds more clicked by before the foal would be near them, raising her head and looking at Crescent whilst a conflicting look of confusion, fright and perking somewhat up started to spread on her face and in the otherwise dull eyes.

As the tune would keep going, the spirit would get closer and start to slowly loose the fright in her eyes and a smile spread on her face upon hearing the tune, and especially when Vivid eventually started to sing along to the whistling to get the spirit to calm even further. She was a mediocre singer at the best of times, and the slight echo on her voice right now was not helping on it, but it didn't matter to the foal it seemed. The experience in itself helped calm her and wake up from her daze until finally - as the song ended - the foal stood happy and looking at the two of them through the mirror (Vivid moved it during the whole procedure so Crescent could see) with big eyes.

"It's time then. Time to say goodbye, and wander to where the song never ends."

The words were lower than how she had talked so far, and if Crescent listened, he could possibly hear the faint tone from Vivid like it hurt her to say that, but it was just one of a few questions that he might have. Just like what happened with the spirit, how she knew it was of old, or how she had known the old song off the top of her head like that.

Allure revealing herself caused Miles to believe the illusion would end, so he faded back in, but Charlie acted quickly, adding in a sound effect and some glowing lights saying, "Transport successful. Attempting transport of second entity," making it sound as though it was coming from an intercom of some kind with a voice deeper than his own, the sound coming from the air, before fading in himself. "Transport complete, powering down," he said over the 'intercom', this time not moving his mouth. "Hi, I'm Doctor Xeno, and this is Charlie. We're here to help you."

@@Blitz Boom,

"Meditation," Senlin replied, now calm and collected. "It's something I learned from my clan whenever I find myself troubled. If you'd like, I can teach you, how to do it."

Though he now had grasp of his situation, he still wondered why he was still in this intermediate location between the castle and Ponyville. He had thoughts about how his temporary meditative state may have affected his environment but he dismissed them quickly, telling himself that he couldn't possibly do anything of the sort. He looked at Omen hoping his answer would be satisfactory, conjuring the old memories of the others who he tried to open up to but dismissed as a loony creature from the forest that didn't keep up with the times.

"I hope you don't mind me asking but is Ponyville nearby?"

Petey looked at the display from atop his throne. "That was a most dazzling entrance. And you two are supposed to be medically trained professionals? I certainly wish all your entrances were that impressive. So what exactly is wrong with me again?"
