I personally hate the series now, but seeing as there isn't a topic about this already (I think, I didn't search. if there is I'm sorry), I will avoid just hating on the game and share the info I found on it for you guys to see. What do you think? Will you end up buying it?

 

 

I personally won't as I feel they have milked the series for all it's worth and are not contributing anything to the game and are just making it to make more of a profit.

There's been a lot of insider-leaks lately in the gaming industry, especially on forum boards. The latest leak is regarding a huge list of multiplayer details and allegedly the official release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

 

MP1st [via CVG] managed to snag the info before it was taken down by Activision. And anytime a publisher has information removed or taken down, you can probably bet that it's because it's true...just like with Capcom the YouTube users and thedisc-locked content.

 

The release date for the game is supposedly set for November 6th of this year, which keeps in line with the annual November release date for previous Call of Dutygames. Also, the November 6th date is even more plausible than the previous retailer listing that had the game arriving on November 12th.

 

You can check out the complete list of the game's features below, which includes some interesting additions and removals, such as no more MOAB, no more nukes and no more Death Streaks. However, one thing most fans will probably enjoy is the re-addition of the customization feature which did not appear in last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

 

Leaked Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Information

• This year, Call of Duty will return with it's ninth installment with Black Ops 2. As expected it will be following Treyarch's previous game Black Ops. It's release date is set for the 6th of November.

 

Game Modes

• Escort, a new game mode similar to Search and Destroy however a live player must be escorted to one of three areas (or two depending on the map) without being killed. The match will have rounds, consisting of one life only.

• Drop Zone and Kill Confirmed will return

• Team Defender and Infected will not return

 

Pointstreaks

• Will follow from Modern Warfare 3's system

• Larger emphasis on objectives

• A bomb plant is worth 2 points

• A neutral flag is worth 1, however an enemy flag is worth 2

• flag assist capture is worth 1, a capture is worth 2

• The Specialist Pointstreak has be modified. 2 kills now gets you 1 perk. The 4th kill gets you 2 more perks. The 6th kill gets you 3 more perks. The 8th Kill gets you 4 more perks. You do not get every perk when you reach 8 kills. Perks only become "Pro" when you have them Pro

• RC XD will not return

• Heat vision is a new Pointstreak reward. When you get the required points, you can activate this Pointstreak and your player pulls out a scope and attaches it to your weapon. This scopes main advantage is it's ability to detect enemies through most walls. Note, the scope can only be attached to primaries not including shotguns

• Item Packages requires 5 points. Fall along side care packages and air drop traps. Features a list of package items only including ammo, mini gun, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, and body armor

 

Prestiges

• There will be 15 prestiges

• There will be 50 ranks

• Every two prestiges there is a 5 rank increase

• The final prestige has 90 levels

 

ELITE 2.0

• ELITE is being fully incorporated into Black Ops 2

• Combat record has been modified and re-named as ELITE Stats

• There will be a specific lobby for clan matches (new way of leveling clans)

• Clan Tournaments can now be implemented

 

Removed

• No MOAB or Nuke

• No last stand

• No death streaks

• No flame thrower attachment

 

Map Design

• Map design and size will be following Black Ops not Modern Warfare 3

 

Sniper Rifles

• Improved sniper rifle usage.

• No aim assist for any sniper rifle.

• Less sway

 

Customization

• No longer just perk 1 chooses the players appearance

• Appearance is a combination of all perks and type of Pointstreak being used.

 

Hardcore

• Larger emphasis on hardcore than ever before

• No grenade launchers

• Only vehicle guided rocket launchers permitted

• Respawn timings decreased (for most modes)

• 1 bullet in the foot will no longer kill a person, a head or chest shot is usually required.

• A person will now bleed out if severely injured.

 

Perk System 2.0

• The Perk Pro system has been upgraded

• There is now 2 options a perk can advance to.

• Both require different challenges to unlock

• Once the desired Pro version is unlocked, the player can select that as their "Perk Pro".

• Once selected, the only way to choose the other option is by entering prestige mode.

• For example Perk slot 1 has the perk called Speed

• Speed - Reduces the time taken to aim down the sight. Pro I - Swaps weapons faster. Pro II - Throws equipment faster

 

Combat Training

• Will be returning with vast improvements.

• Difficulty is no longer based on how long the bots take to start shooting.

• Bots now have an advance AI system

• Similar to the behavior seen in the MW3 Spec Ops survival

 

 

Since I'm guessing a majority will talk against this game (me included), don't feel shy to voice your opinions about it if you are for the game.

If it has zombies in it, maybe. Otherwise i think i'm done with the CoD series. There's a lot more interesting and unique shooters out there, and they seem to fail at making large improvements sadly

Like I always say, It's the Madden of shooters. They just seem to release the same crap over and over and fanboys just eat it all up.

Thank god deathstreaks don't return. I personally love the series, but MW3 was ruined by these dumbass moves Robert Trolling decided to put in. After the fail MW3 turned out to be, this one has got to be a good one, and I mean a good one. It has to come close to CoD4/WaW standards in order to get back some of its lost veteran fans. Also, the ability to choose a different pro varient is something not even I thought up of before, and I have a very creative mind. I'm a little worried about the Heat Vision thing. Hopefully, it has a good counter, like Sitrep Pro counters Dead Silence.

 

What I'm really looking foward to is the guns. MW3 did pretty well considering Stopping Power has been gone for almost 2 years now. They f***ed it up with the akimbo machine pistols though (ESPECIALLY the accursed FMG9 akimboes ). Other than that, I'm really the only one here who is highly anticipating this game, but thats maybe because I want something other than MW3. Just one BIG wish though....no crap hit detection!

Well I didn't like the first one so much. It was a bit rushed.

I actually wanted them to do another WWIi thing, but thy said they were done with it. At least they sort of made it a sequel-like thing to World at War.

But all in all, I think I'm done with CoD. Don't like it so much. Though I'd like to see how it looks like just out of curiosity.

I don't like that is has become the standard for all shooters, and that it pretty much tells developers "You have to have multiplayer." Any game that doesn't meet those standards is pretty much shunned by critics in reviews that I've read.

Just one BIG wish though....no crap hit detection!

I can honestly say I absolutely have a strong dislike towards CoD. It's set the general standard as how ALL FPS multi-playerers have been recently created, and as well as that it has killed the potential of all other unique FPS multi-players because of the whole YouTube CoD fanboy fad. I'm tired of seeing it related to every videogame video i see on youtube, and i'm tired of it being the status quo. I blame the community for letting it get this far out of hand -.- ... sorry for the rage post, but it's just how I feel about the whole franchise.

It's the same thing with sports games... IE Madden, they're the same thing with very little improvements. People will buy them to stay up to date. The same thing with stuff like an iPhone. People will always buy a slightly better (or sometimes worse) product for the same price they payed for the original.

I'm still wondering though, when is gonna be the last CoD game? I'd like it to be CoD 10 just because it'd probably get a nifty title like "CoD X" or whatever (I know, that was pretty crappy). I just hope BO2 meets our expectations so I can finally start enjoying this series again, 'cause really CoD 4 is the most enjoyable one right now (That game is, like, 5 years old).

Also, I'm excited the maps will be more like Black Ops. I hate how cluttered and pretty similiar the maps are, and I swear, MW3 has the absolute WORST spawns ever in a CoD game. Only BF3 Team Deathmatch spawns are worse IMO .

I have BF3 on PS3 and love it... I'd play with you sometime if you like me and my buddies make the game so much more entertaining than it should be
