@@Ganondorf8, the way I'm to present the human Sunset is that she moved away during her 'brat years', and after having made a life for herself, moves back and finds the she is part of a band, helped saved a Camp, and other events.  

 

Kind of in the same vain that Sci-Twi went through but on a more grander scale?

@@Ganondorf8, yes, the Human Sunset, like her pony counterpart wanted power, and wanted it quickly. And the quickest way to power in the human world? Politics.

 

and how do you guarantee a good start in Politics....you point to a career in the Military. so Sunny* joined the Army, was posted overseas and was a successful if stern Commander. She quickly learned what it took the Elements of Harmony and it's Magical Friendship Beam to drill into Pony Sunset. 

 

so Sunny returns to Canterlot, finds out that she's been in the newspapers despite being overseas, and determines to find out why. 

And thus begins Chapter One

Politics can be a tricky thing to implement into cartoons given how "passionate" people can get about it, but the idea of a human version of Sunset joining the military is feasible although she would be more along the lines of a cadet as opposed to a commander given she would still be a teenager. This other Sunset would most definitely be surprised at all the things "she" has supposedly accomplished despite not actually doing them--the Sunset we know did them.

That's a good approach to the politics thing. Most people will tell you that they don't want any political influences even though the temptation to include it is so very tempting given the atmosphere surrounding it. Having the human Sunset go into a career as a cadet would make her different from Sunset herself, but I think she would have a couple of personality traits in common with Sunset.

Sunset still needs to reconcile with Celestia over what happened between them. I still see it as the one thing in her past that continues to linger about and could potentially torment her if it isn't resolved. At the same time, Celestia wishes to know what has become of her former student, and still believes she will come back to seek out her guidance like before.

 

​As for the technology, I can definitely see her wanting to implement computers and the internet so that ponies have faster means of sending messages, looking up various facts, and so on. She might also bring them something no one could ever do without... instant hot coffee for those who need a real pick-me-up in the morning.

I'm pretty sure the internet  would be irrelevant in Equestria since  things can instantly teleport.

@@BlinkZ, That is a good question, assuming her parents are still alive and she wasn't an orphan, another option(one I see some fanfics taking) is Celestia is her mom.
