Well, the easiest way for me rather than just typing it near them is highlighting the art piece then hitting "BBcode" on the toolbar(?) of the chat.  From the drop down menu it provides, there should be a "Spoiler" option among the other options.  Click that, and it should hide what you'd like (Namely the image that is highlighted)!

Oh! I see what you mean... odd.  I tried it myself, and it seemed to work well.  Unless somebody else can help, I'll try to figure it out, and PM you if I have any ideas! Would that be fine?
