I wanted to say that they had a perfect opportunity for a Sunset Shimmer cameo when they showed the pictures on Twilight Sparkle's mirror.

but, then there wouldn't have been any way for anyone of The Humane 5 or Sunset to get a picture to Twilight Sparkle in the first place, would there?

Yeah, i don't know why I should be surprised.

it's obvious the writers don't really care all that much about Sunset now that her arc's pretty much over & she's pretty much become Sci Twi's tutor.

It seems like Sci-Twi has become the main character at the expense of Sunset's overall arc, at least that's the impression I got from

Legends of Everfree.

I think they wanted Sci-Twi to garner the attention because of wanting a fresh start with the Twilight character. Granted, unlike Princess Twilight, Sci-Twi doesn't possess the same magical knowledge and still needs Sunset to act as her guide.
