it all stated with me showing her a fan made pony song. "lullaby for a princess"

other songs too but this ones her fave.

she loved it! :wub: and then I explained the story behind the song and showed her a clip of Celestia and Luna reuniting back in season one, and now she can't wait to watch the show.

 

Celestia is her favorite 

based on the songs she's been listening to.

I remember when I first started trying to get her to watch the show, she'd watch one minute and leave the room.

 

B) but now she want to watch it.

I am so excited to get her into this show.

it was a bumpy road to get to this point

but it was worth it.

You don't really need to force her to watch it. Also, the fandom isn't the best way to start the like or dislike of this show. Any fanmade thing shouldn't be the first thing to show her.

there are some fanmade things you can show people. for exsmple the song Join the herd one of my favorites.

That kind of depends on the person, even before I got into the show I actually liked a lot of the fanart that I saw and admired the creative side of the fandom.

perhaps yes, i did like the show very much. If i had known of this fanbase i might have felt differently. So i guess watching the show first gives the most genuine sort of feeling.

Fan labors are what introduced many to MLP. It was their curiosity that drove them to watch the show in the first place. You read the Welcome threads and How I Became a Brony thread, right? It's all in there, quantifiable if you are interested. :D

 

And to the OP, darn you kids recruiting parents. :P

actually I have a question, does anybody here know any mlp canon/fanmade songs that don't have anything that could be related to mlp itself without actually knowing it was from it?

I always wonder if I had just been sat down to watch it, or stumbled on it myself, what would my initial reaction be?

even if you say that...

it still worked.

When you said "she might join the herd," I immediately thought you meant she'd get on the internet and browse for pony things.

:wat: she now has pony memes for use on facebook... so its not what I meant for her to do at the time she still did it.

the aviators sing pony songs, but you wouldn't be able to tell unless you watch the show. lol  ;)

my personal favorites are loyalty and open your eyes.

This is why you need to explain that "other stuff" before.

it not like she doesn't know about clop.

but I'm not sure she realizes how much there is

or how much time some people put into it.
