gaming Pokemon 7th gen

too early to start speculating? Oh well.

I think it'll be obvious that we'll be getting mega starters from gen 2, since Nintendo gave mega forms to G1 starters, skipped right over g2's, and mega evolved G3's. Mega Typhlosion. Do want!

Also- Mega Yanmega. It should be done. (and just for lolz, I want to see Mega Wobuffet, Girafarig, and Sudowoodo). I can imagine if Fortress got a mega, that thing would look pretty epic. As would Mega Ariados and Mega Crobat

As for the region. While it would likely be a new one, I'm hoping it'd be Orre, since that region never got its own handheld game (and Wes needs to make a return, along with mixing up the Pokemon storyline by getting to play as a bad guy (or reformed bad guy, anyway, but still stealing pokemon)

I wonder- with so many legendaries- how Game Freak could possibly think up myth for more, since just about every legendary has a hand (or wing/ paw, ect) in forming the Pokemon world in some way or another. What could more legendaries contribute to creation that the ones we have haven't, already?

and hopefully, gen 7 will have a U.S Mew event. Because damnit, Japan, stop hogging all the good Arceusdamned events!

-ahem-

thoughts on G7?

I'm not the kind of person who would speculate on the next Pokémon generation, but...

I do agree that we'll be getting Megas for the starters. The likeliest is the second gen, but it could be anything.

So you want Mega Yanmaga, Crobat and Ariados? They sound interesting, but it's very unlikely. According to a review with Ken Sugimori, he said that Megas were made for two reasons. The first reason being to balance out competitive play, and the second being to put fan favourites in a positive light. Since Pokémon like Ariados aren't fan favourites, I can't say that it'll ever get one.

Speaking of which, here are my guesses...

  • Mega Flygon: This one is the one I want the most. First off, this Pokémon has okay stats. While they can often do the job well done, they do feel like it needs a boost. It is also a popular Pokémon here in the West. I'm not sure about Japan, but I assume they'll also like this anthropomorphic bug.
  • Mega Ninetales: This one is similar to my opinion on Mega Flygon. Ninetales has below average stats, so because of that, it's a Pokémon that really needs a Mega. Given that this is also one of the oldest Pokémon as well as the amount of people who like this cutesy thing, both in the West and Japan, I could really see Ninetales getting a Mega Evolution in the distant future.
  • Mega Mienshao: I'm pretty confident to say that Mienshao is a fan favourite in both the West and in Japan, and I got proof for both. In the West, Pokemon.com hold a little poll called the Fighting-type Face off. Mienshao made it into the Top 4 of this competition, only to be beaten by two Megas and a Legendary. In Japan, there was once a magazine where you could vote for your favourite Unova Pokémon. Mienshao made it into 28th place. Might I also mention that Audino, a Pokémon with a Mega, has made it into this popularity contest? Audino won 26th place. Popularity aside, I could also see this anthropomorphic weasel getting a boost in Special Attack, similar to how Lucario got a boost in Attack when it Mega Evolves. I can't say that this Mega will appear, however. Given that we only have one Unova Pokémon with a Mega Evolution, as well as how Mienshao is kind of new, we'll probably never see a Mega for this thing. I'm still hoping for one, though.

I'd hope the story would be like Orre as well. One of the reasons why I like Pokémon Colosseum is that it's a breath of fresh air when it comes to the story. Then again, I've always wanted the next region to have no new Pokémon and a story that's a combination between the main series and Colosseum.

As I said about the story, I don't want any new Pokémon, simply because I don't want Game Freak to run out of ideas. Megas are fine, but no new Pokémon. If they were to, and it's very likely, then I want to see Legendaries that represent the Sun and the Moon. Kind of like Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, which are very well known in Japan.

I've always wanted a US Jirachi event. One will might happen during ORAS, but it's a Pokémon that brings back bad memories. Back in 2010, I managed to get a limited Toys 'R' Us Jirachi with Draco Meteor, but in the next year, I traded it to some person I don't know. Because of that, I want a new Jirachi Event to happen so I can "reclaim" it. xP

I wouldn't mind a G1 remake. Red, yellow, or blue. I don't care. (I know Red and Japan's Green, got FR LG, but c'mon, we need to keep up with the 3DS) Maybe we'll get something blue and something yellow remake?

man, nostalgia.

offtopic, but I wonder (when the time comes) what a remake of X and Y would be called. There's only a letter for their titles. XD How can you make any remake title of them sound cool from "X" and "Y"?

I always hope for more Pokémon with uinique type combinations, and now that Fairy exists there are even more possibilities- still waiting for more radical stuff like Grass/Fire and Normal/Ghost tho.

They could also maybe allow 2 Megas on a team next gen instead of one, there's just so many and there will be more after all, it's probably inevitable.

Don't know much more that they could add really- new weather moves? Crazier abilities? More of a change-up to the storyline? Who knows?

Also hope that they wait for the next handheld for the next generational installment- I mean, Gold/Silver and Black/White were big improvements over Red/Blue and Diamond/Pearl on their respective platforms, but I don't think they could change as much visually on 3DS as it looks as nice as it could there already. We'll see though...

Anyone's guess as to what they have in store.. Personally I would really like to see another game like Colosseum/XD: GoD but I suppose with the main series having moved to 3D now that's not really necessary. But even so it was more the differing style of those games that got me more then the looks of it, I just enjoyed playing a story that was different to the traditional travel the land and collect badges to face the league idea, not that there's anything wrong with that, but a breath of fresh air every once in a while is appreciated. :)

Oh, and a Dark type gym. Make it happen Pokemon.

I'd really like another game like Colosseum, XD, too. Screw what's necessary! It was the mechanics that made those games a breath of fresh air (playing as the bad guy/ ex bad guy, stealing pokemon, purifying them, ect) Plus the towns and cities were beautiful (Phenac City. OMG) and cool (the Under!!!!) Maybe Game freak can start by bringing Kids Grid back into a old region on the handheld (like having them hanging out in Hoenn in a SECRET BASE (because remember how they had their base hidden in a secret room behind a bookshelf in the GC game?), after all was said and done. (That actually would've been cute/ cool), and finally, a whole Orre region on the handheld, come gen 7

yes to dark type gym. Why hasn't this happened?

I really hope they make an iguana pokemon. also making a region out of Canada would be cool (I doubt they will do it though). it would be cool if you start off in the mainland of Newfoundland and Labrador collect 8 badges then head to the island and get 8 badges. also if they could add saint Pierre and Miquelon and have everyone from there kalos citizens that would be awesome.

Here's how it's gonna go (My theory): We just got a remake, now we're gonna get a new region or a third game to X and Y. If we get a new region, then after that get a third game to X and Y. If a third game comes, then a new region after that. And then after those two will most likely be a remake of Diamond and Pearl (My favorite of the series.) There's also the possibility of a new region, then the D/P remakes. For the new region itself... I don't care really, nor do I care about new Pokémon. Nintendo hasn't disappointed me yet with Pokémon. Except for X and Y postgame, that was really short... Other then that, let the people do there thing.

well that was obvious, Mr. Obvious. Anyone who's been playing Pokemon KNOWS we're either going to get a new region next, or a 3rd title for X and Y. I was asking what (likely NEW) features,  unexplored side-game regions brought into main game, or new/ old and upgraded Pokemon people would want to see in any new Pokemon games.
