If you think the idea behind ponies will make the world a better place, you're either not taking this seriously or I'm just being a mad poster again.

It's a little mix of both. It's good to have a small laugh while being a little serious. Honestly, if EVERYONE on this planet watched MLP and loved the show and would just love and tolerate... the world would be a better place. Because of all the life lessons that are stressed in the show and how to be kind to others, etc.

Question 1: Lemme just grab my list... (Not gonna get into an argument about this, but I think institutionalized religion is a major part of the problem)

Question 2: Socialism.

Question 3: I'm not really into the whole "True Communism" thing.

Very true, although I do think a little more mad than the former. It's just that I can't wrap my mind around a thought that basically says "MLP = INSTANT SOLUTION SOLVER" because I believe that most of the world wouldn't react too well to My Little Pony, whether it be the africans due to their lack of understanding of how a childrens show to us is a children show and to them is a completely other thing, or the ones in the Middle East who'll take into account their religion and probably make sure MLP never gets aired in whatever country their in.

However, this opinion of mine is stereotyped. I know that some countries aren't like that, but its just the idea about MLP being treated like a deity-like show that can make peace with the world just annoys me.

The world has many problems right now and will always have problems no matter what happens. The thing I dislike the most in the world right now, however, is inequality due to closed-minded fools who only know oppression for one reason or another, be it religion or social upbringing otherwise.

The problems with these people isn't necessarily the organizations they're with (unless it's a group dedicated to being socialistic elitists, of course), but with the people themselves. Due to this, there is very little that can actually be done with fixing the problem of closed-mindedness. Sexuality, gender, race, social status and so on will always be things which are opposed by some people simply because their closed-minded ways don't allow them to listen to reason, and nothing short of a genocide of people who were closed-minded (which would be even more ridiculous than the people themselves) would make things even begin to change.

It's the people who don't listen to reason and simply won't let other people live their own lives that make me angry. A lot of people who share similar views with me point their fingers at religion or social areas, but I know that a lot of people from stereotypically black-labeled locales and religions aren't like the stereotypes they fall into. So, I just dislike people who make the world full of hate only because they personally feel that certain types of people are of lesser status in the world.

I completely agree with everything you just said. Closed minded people make me feel like this:

I know you probably weren't referring to me, but since you did post about those of us pointing fingers at religion I want to respond.

I know that there are good people who happen to be religious, and I am very much on the side of those who say that religion doesn't actually cause hatred. People are naturally hateful of others that are different from them, so religion is not at fault for that.

My problem with religion comes not from that, but from these two things:

1. While religion may not cause hatred (it probably does in some cases, but I don't believe it to be the majority of the time), religion's power over an individual must not be underestimated. They might have natural sexism/homophobia/whatever already in them, but when they see that from their holy text that their God agrees with their viewpoint, that viewpoint becomes greatly enhanced. It might have been something that they might have kept to themselves otherwise.

2. Throughout all of history, organized religion has garnered a great deal of respect, and thus religious beliefs have come to be accepted and protected no matter how immoral they are in reality. This is the largest issue I have with organized religion. Hateful people have come into play and took advantage of this. Just look at the history of North America alone. The Bible was used to justify slavery, since the Bible does not condemn slavery in the least, and was also used to justify racism in general. The Bible was used to justify sexism. To keep women from having the right to vote, to keep women from getting jobs, and to keep women submitting to their husband and to men in general. Flash forward to today, and the Bible is being used to justify homophobia. It's being used to justify banning same-sex marriage and it is even being used to allow kids to bully others for being homosexual.

Sadly, it doesn't matter that there are good people within religion and it doesn't matter where that hate starts. Organized religion is a shield from which that hatred can safely hide behind and keep on going on. That is why I despise it with every fiber of my being.

>Socialistic elitists

Socialist philosophy is kind of the opposite of elitism.

I meant elitists along the lines of Social status, not actual socialists. Hope that clears things up.

Big Bad Wall-'o-Text

Oh, trust me, I completely understand your views and even agree with them. I understand that religion plays a huge part in such things as gay marriage issues and still plays a role at times in women's roles in society, especially in certain older-age styles of Christianity.

I simply don't want to go on a tangent on everything I dislike about the world and chose to focus in on the people themselves as opposed to the larger organizations in the world which cause issues. I'm far from one to say that religions, businesses and government are things that aren't hurting us in the world, but I don't think there's much point in putting out all of my views on how miserable a state I think the world is in.

I've been thinking, there should be a topic about: "What do you love about this world?"

If we focus too much on the negative aspects, we're blinded as to what is positive about this world.

I like this world the way it is. With all the violence death and pain. Why? Because it makes me feel better about my current situation. It sounds horrible but it keeps me going, thinking "Well I'm in a pretty shit mood, but at least I'm a lot better of than most."
