Anyways, this thread is for those who love the Blue Bomber himself, Mega Man!

As you may know, the Megaman franchise hasn't exactly had a great ride recently, with all the canceled games and whatnot, but things are starting to look up for the 'bot thanks to his classic form's appearance in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U! Oh, he also has an amazing comic series by Archie!

To celebrate not only that, but also his anniversary (December 1987), I've decided to make a fan club for the Megs on this very forum!

 

Let's start with some questions:

1. How did you find out about Megaman?

2. What was your first game?

3. What is your favorite and/ or least favorite game?

4. Which series do you like/dislike the most?

5. Who's your favorite/least favorite character?

6. Do you think the Super Fighting Robot still has a chance to keep going?

7. Anything else you wanna say?

 

Here are my answers:

1. When I was 7 or 8, my brother had Mega Man & Bass for the GBA, ever since then, Mega Man held a special place in my childhood (corny, I know, but hey, it's true.)

2. Mega Man & Bass!

3. Fav: Mega Man 2, it provided a decent challenge, and it was just fun! Least fav: I dunno.

4. The classic series is the best to me!

5. I love Bass, but I can't stand Auto....

6. If we all come together and show Capcom we still love Mega Man, maybe he'll come back to us soon...

1. Years ago, cousin threw me a Megaman X game and I was like "hey, i'll play this", and then history...

2. Megaman X. Oh the memories...

3. For favorite, toss-up between X1, X8, and Megaman Zero. For least favorite... X7 and X4 were some of the most boring and convoluted games i've laid hands on.

4.Battle Network is just awful, it detracted from everything Megaman- y. Megaman X and Zero were the better halves of the coin.

5. Favorite: Zero. Love X(He's second), but he's just so... Megatron-ish at times. Zero gets things done, whether he likes them or not. Least favorite: Dr. Weil. He came out of nowhere, and I didn't even understand Zero 3 and 4 due to him.

6. Well, it already finished the storyline... I don't see what adding more would accomplish. Unless you mean rebooting the Megaman or X series, then that's perfectly alright.

1) My brother rented Megaman X for the Super Nintendo and played the shit out of it. We also enjoyed the old Ruby Spears Cartoon

2) I tried one of the Megaman ports for the Gameboy, but the first game I completely played was X5

3) Favorite game is easily the first X game followed by either X4 or one of the Legends games. Least Favorite: X7 can go die in a fire

4) X was the one I invested all of my time love and passion into, followed by Legends and the original, and I always thought ZX was criminally underrated. Least Favorite: Never got into Battle Network, Starforce, or Zero

5) Favorite character: X was one of my favorite characters growing up, I still always preferred him over Zero, and was always kind of annoyed how he got shafted in his own series. Least Favorite: Flame Hyenard is not only one of the worst mavericks ever, he's also one of the worst things to come out of the series, and one of the worst boss fights of all time

6) At this point the only hope I have for him is for Capcom to sell the rights to Nintendo or for him to live on through Mighty No. 9

1-2. I don't remember exactly how I did as it was a good 20 years ago but I know that Megaman X was the first one I played.

 

3. Megaman X is my favorite and not just because it was my first, least favorite is probably X7. I don't think it was as bad as some people make it out to be but it didn't quite make the mark of most of the games in the franchise.

 

4. I like the original Megaman series but I like the darker themes of the X and Zero series. 

 

5. Zero, I love the irony that though he was Dr Wily's greatest creation he ended up doing the exact opposite that he created him for. And of course Zero is a total badass.

 

6. It is possible but with Capcom's head so far up its ass it dosen't look too good right now. Capcom either needs new blood in charge or Nintendo needs to seriously buy them. They Did make a Megaman 9 and 10 as downloadable titles in the style of the NES Megaman games and they were good games but I would really like to see that sequel to ZX Advent that they hinted quite heavily at during the end of that game. I was also hoping to see a X9 and X10 as downloadable titles like 9 and 10 but I again go back to what I have said before.

A1. When my bro got the first game, for the NES, as a Christmas Present, back in '87.

A3. Well, they're all a bit too difficult for me, but I like watching my bro play them. Each game has it's own charm, but I haven't seen them all being played.

A5. My fav is easy to chose: MEGA MAN!

A6. YES! I hope they make more rpg-esque games. That reminds me, tho... I need to get a hold of the two Mega Man RPGs for the PSOne, and give them a go.

1. A friend let me borrow his copy of the anniversary collection for a week. Played through Mega Man 3 and 2 that weekend.

2. Mega Man 3. The best Mega Man game, in my opinion.

3. Megaman 3 is my favorite and Megaman and Bass is my least favorite

4. Favorite Series: X            Least Favorite Series: Battle Network

5. Favorite: Classic Megaman      Least Favorite: Zero

6. Not in video games. Megaman had a good run, but when it comes to gaming, Capcom needs to let him die in peace. Now, the comics might still keep him relevant, though.

I'm probably the newest Mega Man fan ever. 

1. I found out about Mega Man last year out of curiosity on the 3DS Eshop

2. My first game was the first Mega Man

3. My favorite game is Mega Man 3/ can't really say I have a least favorite

4. I like the classic Mega Man series

5. I like Proto Man/ I really don't like Chill Penguin

6. I believe this series can continue even though his creator sorta quit Capcom.

 

Yeah again I'm a new Mega Man fan. Found out about Mega Man in April 2013, 2 months after I became a Brony. I downloaded it and played it. It took me awhile to get used to the controls (I wasn't aware that you hold the button to keep moving in the direction you're moving). I now beat all of the classic Mega Man games, except MM&B, and i'm trying to beat them all with only the Mega Buster. I've been trying to get into the X series, but I am having a hard time. I beat the first X a few months ago. Knowing that it has all those heart capsules, sub tanks, and other collectibles, it bothers me since I'm a completionist. I will attempt to beat the X series, I just don't know how I will be able to play the PS2 games. I guess the more recent games in the series just deterred me.

1. Back when rental stores were still a thing, I remember renting X5 and X6. I didn't revisit the series until some time later when I picked up Battle Network 3.

 

2. My first game was the aforementioned X5/X6 because I can't remember which one I played first. 

 

3. Megaman Battle Network 5 Team Protoman/Colonel is still my favorite game, followed by Battle Network 3.

 

4. I'm mostly a fan of the Battle Network series, though I have played Zero, Starforce and the X series. However, and I know this may be treason of the highest order, I'm not a big fan of the classic series. Maybe it's because i never had a chance to play them or if I did I wasn't very good, but I just never got into them compared to the RPG series.

 

5. Favorite: Zero, both incarnations of him. Least Favorite: Uh...Dr. Regal I guess.

 

6. Possibly. Capcom is just barely keeping its head afloat financial and any day now they're either going to file for bankrupcy or start selling off licenses, Mega Man being one them. Not to mention after the no doubt successful release of Mighty Number 9 (AKA Mega Man in everything but name), Mega Man might still have a chance.

1. My dad got me the Mega Man Anniversary Collection for PS2 when I was about 9 or 10. I thought it was way too difficult (I hadn't really played many games until that point) so I, regrettably, traded it in for something else. A few years later through emulators and actually figuring out how to play the games, Mega Man became one of my favorite franchises. I actually bought back the classic Anniversary Collection and the collection for the X series.

 

2. My first game was the very first classic Mega Man. It's important to me that I play things in chronological order.

 

3. Classic Mega Man 1-4, X/X2, Mega Man Legends

 

4. The classic series will always be my favorite, but I actually really enjoyed the Legends series.

 

5. Hmm, I'm not sure. I really like most of the characters in all of the games.

 

6. I think Mega Man has done what he needed to do and his legacy should speak for itself. I'm totally fine with the torch being passed to Mighty No. 9.

1-The 90's cartoon show. I was so unaware of the actual videogame series that I though the games were adapted from the cartoon   . Maybe I should watch it again, so I could hear some poneh voices  . Speaking of poneh voices, I don't think any animated adaptation was dubbed other than Ocean Dub  , I mean, we got Silver Shill as Megaman, Chief Thunderhooves as Proto and Doc Wily in the 90's series, Pinkie/Flutters as Roll in an animated movie, and Shining Armor as Megaman EXE. in NT Warriors...

2-The first game that I've played, was Megaman 3 for NES, I was around 6 years old. But my first Megaman game that I owned was Megaman X

3-Out of the ones I've played, can't decide from X or X5, and Battle Network 2 my least favorite 

4-X being the one I like the most, and Battle Network the least. 

5-Zero being my favorite and my least..... I don't really have any I hate, but I think it could be Slash Man

6- I have my doubts, with the latest games being duds, the cancelation of 4 games, and Inafume's departure.... Megaman's future doesn't looks so bright, though, there's an upcoming series in 2017, so there might still be a chance

7-It's undeniable the legacy this series has left in the industry, and it might not be my overall favorite, but I really like it, and it's sad to see the hard times is going through

I have never been a huge fan of the series, but I definitely will say that Megaman X was a huge part of my childhood. I absolutely love that game even now, even if I can barely beat it. The whole game is just phenomenal, the graphics, the sound, the music, the atmosphere, the awesome levels and powerups, that game is just pure nostalgia candy for me.

 

You know what other game I really loved and I really want to play again? Megaman Legends. I remember loving that game too, but it's been so long..it's a shame a third one is not happening.
